1 Total Baseball Academy (TBA) Summer Camp This week long camp is for the baseball enthusiast who wants to learn more about the game while working hard and having fun, this is not a day care camp. Space will be limited so get your registration form in today to reserve your spot. Two separate sessions: Session: 1 Monday July 29- Friday August 2 Session: 2 Monday August 5- Friday August 9 (choose one or attend both) Age: 8-14 Time daily: 8:30am Early Drop off; camp begins at 9am sharp. Camp is over at 3:30pm. Location: Jefferson Play Field So. Columbian Way, Seattle (right next to Asa Mercer Middle School) Staff: Current En Fuego Coaches, Current and Past Players The camp is set up to create an environment that will provide continuous exposure to the key intangibles of the game of baseball forgotten in most hitting, pitching and infield camps! The goal is to build enthusiasm and the want for more baseball understanding in building future baseball prospects. From EnFuego Sports President, Steve Avila: It s easy to identify the What s of the game but to have answers, the Why s is the key to a successful, well developed physically and mentally prepared player. Young NW players today don t get enough to very little exposure to the intangibles of the game. One excuse is weather and lack of games due to weather, there is some truth to that excuse but I believe we are over indulged with hitting and pitching coaches and not nearly enough game management instruction. I see high school players who lack knowledge of what to do in game situations, bunt defenses, cut off and relays, run downs, 1 st and 3 rd defense, 1 st and 3 rd offense, when not to swing or when to swing with runners in motion, hitters counts, secondary and lead offs against right handed and left handed pitchers, pre-pitch anticipation and the list goes on, these intangibles allow young players to become good to great players. There is a big need to teach the game of baseball beyond the hitting and pitching mechanics with emphasis on the Why s, why and when we should do things and not to be surprised or naïve to situations when they occur, big reason for camp!

2 2013 Staff: Rodney Holloway- Current Total Baseball Camp Director and Youth Academy Director for En Fuego Sports Baseball Academy, Previously coached at the college and high school level. He has worked with players that have gone onto play high school, college and professional baseball. Steve Avila- Current President of En Fuego Baseball Academy- Previously the Northwest Scouting Supervisor for the Cleveland Indians, Previously ran the highly successful Olympia Pepsi program which produced over 250 college and 85 professional baseball players. Jesse Orton Current Pitching Coach for the 18U En Fuego Baseball Academy, previously played college baseball and youth summer baseball coach. Andres Calderon Current En Fuego Youth Baseball Academy Coach 14U, previously played high school baseball for O Dea High School State Champions. Todd Takayoshi Current Los Anglos Dodgers Minor League Hitting Instructor, Previously with the Los Anglos Angels as the roving hitting instructor and minor league field coordinator. Bill Stubbs Current owner and director of Stubby s Specialized Infield Camps, previous scout and college head coach. Other instructors include current and past En Fuego players The staff has multiple years of experience at all levels of the game Youth, High School, College and Professional, both playing and coaching. What to wear and bring: all baseball gear, if you re a catcher bring your catchers gear, glove, bat, batting helmet, wear baseball pants, you will be provided hat and two shirts that you will wear each day, cleats and tennis shoes. Bring a lunch and a snack this will be a long day on the yard so be prepared. We will provide each player a bottled water at lunch time. Keeping your kids hydrated throughout the day will be important. This total camp will be the foundation to build on for the future of your young athlete, when most programs are shutting down for the year we are just getting started! Learning to play the game the right way never takes time off.

4 Release of Liability-Read Before Signing In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Total Baseball Camp, its related events and activities. I, the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate and agree that: 1. The risk of injury from the activities involved in the camp is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death and while particular skills, equipment and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and, 2. I Knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the releases or others and assume full responsibility for my participation; and, 3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the camp counselor immediately; and, 4. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, Hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless the Total Baseball Camp, its officers, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used for the activity ( Releasees ), with respect to any and all injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property associate with my presence or participation, whether arising from the negligence of the releases or otherwise to the fullest extent permitted by law. I have read this release of liability and assumption of risk agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it and it freely and voluntarily without any inducement. For Parents/Guardians of Participants of Minority Age This is to certify that I, as parent/guardian with legal responsibility for this participant, do consent and agree to his/her release as provided above of all the Releasees, and, for myself, my child and our heirs, assigns, and next of kin, I release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all liabilities to my minor child s involvement or participation in this program as provided above, even if arising from the negligence of the Releasees, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
