4 More Than a Field of Dreams... West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex is unique among youth sport complexes in the United States. 17 Fields. 1 Goal. The Best Travel Ball Experience is not just a slogan to us. It is our sincere motivation for each tournament we schedule. Honored by the Tennessee Turfgrass Association, we have 17 lighted and immaculately groomed baseball and softball fields sitting on 70 acres, just off Interstate 40, the nation s most traveled interstate. It s the perfect location for teams from any region. Teams from 13 different states have played here. And, new for 2017, we are enlarging the infield for one of our fields so we can accommodate more 60 x 90 baseball competition for 14- year-old teams. We ve also launched a new mobile-friendly website, making it even easier to sign up for tournaments, register your team and get the latest game-day information from your smartphone, tablet or desktop computer. The 2017 Sportsplex season has a full slate of events scheduled. All baseball tournaments are USSSAsanctioned. Baseball highlights: w Our Best Customers Discount: Every team that plays in five events here (including Fall 2016 tournaments) receives a $40 discount on entries to all additional 2017 spring/summer events at the Sportsplex, excluding the state tournament and special championship events. w Our Earliest Entries Discount: The first four teams that enter any age bracket of any tournament get a $20 discount on the entry fee (excluding the state tournament and post-season events). w Specialized Tournaments: We offer baseball events that are Global World Series qualifiers, as well as those geared to AA and AAA teams, making our best efforts to even the competition. In all of our events, we will keep classifications separated if the number of entries allows us to do it mathematically while making the best use of our fields. Sportsplex Retail Neighbors Next door to the Sportsplex is the home of the Jackson Generals, the Double-A Southern League professional minor league baseball team affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Sportsplex works closely with the Generals staff to offer terrific game packages for visiting Sportsplex teams and their families, including free tickets for players and coaches. Surrounding the Sportsplex is Jackson s fastest area of retail growth. Numerous eating sites are within walking distance or a quick drive. You don t even have to leave our campus to eat, however. We have four fullservice concession stands with the best ballpark food and prices you ll find. Several hotels, including two Marriott properties, a Hampton Inn and a Holiday Inn Express, are within a 5- to 7-minute drive. Beginning its fourth year in the area is the trampoline-filled Sky Zone, next door to the Sportsplex. We re enlarging the infield on Field No. 16 in Complex D to accommodate more 60- by 90-feet baseball competition for 14-year-old team tournaments.
