OF Starling Marte s bunt single in the bottom of the fifth inning of Friday night s win extended his team-best hitting streak to eight games; Marte has hit safely in every game of the 2012 season... Toledo INF Brad Eldred, a former Indianapolis Indians first baseman, hit his sixth double of the season on Friday night, tying him with Tribe INF Jeff Clement for the International League lead... After hitting five doubles in his first four games of the season, Clement has hit just one in his last four games TODAY S TRIBE STARTER: LHP Jo-Jo Reyes makes his first start for the Indians... Reyes is 0-0 this season in one relief appearance... On 4/9 he pitched 0.1 inning of relief, allowing one hit, one walk and two earned runs, giving him an inflated ERA for the season... Reyes last started in the International League in 2010, going 1-5 in 10 starts as a member of the Gwinnett Braves in the Atlanta Braves organization... Reyes made one start against Toledo that year, earning a no decision in 4.2 IP, allowing four hits (one home run), three runs (two earned), three walks and recording eight of his 11 outs via strikeout TODAY S MUD HENS STARTER: LHP Casey Crosby takes the hill for the Mud Hens in a battle of southpaw starters... Crosby is making his second start of the season... He took the loss on 4/9 against the Louisville Bats, tossing 4.0 innings while allowing five hits (one home run), six runs (four earned) and two walks, striking out six... That game was Crosby s Triple-A debut... He has never pitched at Victory Field or against the Indians... Crosby spent the entire 2011 season with the Erie SeaWolves of the Double-A Eastern League... In 25 starts, he compiled a 9-7 record and 4.10 ERA, picking up 121 strikeouts in innings pitched TODAY S TRIBE STARTER: LHP Rudy Owens makes his second start of the season in game two of today s doubleheader Owens took a no decision on 4/10 in Columbus, tossing 5.0 innings and allowing seven hits (three home runs), four earned runs and no walks while recording four strikeouts Owens was 1-3 against Toledo in 2011, including 1-2 at Victory Field... In his last start against the Mud Hens, Owens went 2.2 innings at the Vic, allowing eight hits (one home run) and five home runs while recording two strikeouts TODAY S MUD HENS STARTER: LHP Ramon Garcia makes his second start of the 2012 season, his first for Toledo Garcia made one start for Double-A Erie, taking the loss and allowing eight hits and four earned runs in 3.0 innings picked, recording five strikeouts He picked up a win in relief for Toledo on 4/1, tossing 4.0 innings out of the bullpen and allowing one hit and no runs on the strength of two strikeouts Garcia has faced the Indians only once in his career, throwing 5.0 innings and earning a no decision on 8/30/2011 while allowing eight hits, four earned runs and one walk while striking out one Tribe batter LET S PLAY TWO: The Indians and Mud Hens will face off today in the International League s first doubleheader of 2012 Indianapolis and Toledo also have a scheduled doubleheader this season: the Mud Hens will host the Tribe in a twinight doubleheader on 7/ 21 The Indians were 3-4 in regular doubleheaders in 2011, including a split in Toledo on 4/21 The Indians also had a game against Syracuse at Victory Field on 6/ 4 that was delayed due to rain and was made up on 6/ 5 before the regularly scheduled game The Indians lost in the completion of the first game but won the regularly scheduled game against the Chiefs WALKOFF WINNER: DH Nick Evans smacked a walkoff single to right field in the bottom of the ninth on Friday night, scoring OF Gorkys Hernandez and delivering a win for the Indians in the Tribe s first game at Victory Field in It was the Tribe s first walkoff win since 8/30/2011, when the Tribe beat Toledo The Indians did not have back-to-back walkoffs wins in Evans -- who was hitless coming into the game and had been away from the team to be with his wife, Anne, for the birth of the couple s first child -- also had an RBI-double in the first inning that scored SS Jordy Mercer WHOLE STAFF EFFORT: RHP Daniel McCutchen (1-0, 1.29) picked up the win in Friday night s contest, tossing 2.0 innings of relief and allowing no hits or runs while walking one batter and striking one out... RHP Brad Lincoln (1-0, 2.25) started the game and went 7.0 innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs while recording three strikeouts...
