He already holds the Los Angeles record for doubles and runs scored by a rookie, establishing the latter mark last night. De León was a non-roster invitee to Spring Training this year and after being sent to the minors, he battled injuries before catching fire late in the year. In his last six starts at Triple-A Oklahoma City since July 30, the native of Puerto Rico is 4-0 with a 1.30 A (6 /44.2 IP) and overall, the Dodgers No. 2 prospect, according to MILB.com, is 7-1 with a 2.61 A in 16 starts this season. In his 16 starts this year, De León has limited the opposition to a.194 average while striking out 111 batters against just 20 walks. His WHIP is 0.94 and the th -round pick has gone at least 7.0 innings in six of his last eight outings. TOLES YA : Dodger outfielder Andrew Toles is posting a.383/.449/.667 slashline in 26 games with Los Angeles since his MLB debut on July 8, going 23-for-60 with 13 runs, six doubles, a triple, three homers and 13 RBI. Since Toles second recall on Aug. 8, he s 11-for- 22 (.500) with three homers and 12 RBI in 10 games. His OPS was the best by a Dodger in his first 25 games (min. 20 PA), besting Yasiel Puig s mark in I KNOW YOU GUYS: Dodger catcher and former Padre Yasmani Grandal went 1-for-4 last night, but delivered the big blow, connecting on a three-run homer, his career-high 22 nd of the season. Grandal is hitting.378 (14-for-37) with five homers, 11 RBI and a OPS in 10 games vs. San Diego this season. Not to go unnoticed, several other Dodgers have hit the Padres well this year, including Howie Kendrick ( for-39, 2 HR, 4 2B), Yasiel Puig ( for-49, 2 HR, 10 RBI) and Adrián González ( for-52, 11 R, 7 RBI). THE BIG MAN: Kenley Jansen struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning last night. Last week, Jansen recorded his 40 th save and posted just the seventh 40-save season (his second, also: 2014, 44) in franchise history. This season, Jansen ranks among the National League s best in A (1.85, 4 th ), opponents batting average (.150, T-2 nd ), saves (40, 2 nd ), WHIP (0.67, 1 st MLB) and strikeouts (87 in 58.1 innings, T-4 th ). FAR, GOOD: Last night, rehabbing Dodger left-hander Clayton Kershaw dominated Single-A hitters in his first competitive outing since June 26, firing 3.0 scoreless innings with five strikeouts while allowing just one base runner (infield single). Kershaw made just 35 pitches for the Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes against the Modesto Nuts and then tossed an additional 15 in the bullpen. After the game, Kershaw said he expects his next outing will be for the Dodgers. The three-time Cy Young Award winner has missed the last 58 games with a herniated disc and Los Angeles is (.586) in that time. The Dodgers have had 27 players on the DL this year, which ties the 2012 Boston Red Sox for the most by a team since Dodger outfielder Andre Ethier went 1-for-3 with an RBI double last night and is hitting.375 (9-for-24) with four doubles and three RBI in seven rehab games with the Quakes.
