2 MARINERS MINOR LEAUGE SEASON REVIEW NOTES AFFILIATES UPDATE: The Mariners 9 minor league affiliates wrapped up the 2012 season on Sept. 4, putting together one of the best seasons in club history, combining for a (.550) record...the organization led all Major League farm systems in wins (496) and winning percentage (.550)...the Mariners 496 organizational wins set a new record for more wins in a single sesaon by any Major League farm system...six of the Mariners 9 affiliates qualified for the postseason in ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE: The Arizona Fall League is set to begin its 20th season on Tuesday, October 9. Each AFL team is comprised of 5 major league organizations working cooperatively. Each organization is required to assign six of their most promising Major League prospects to the league. The roster includes righthanded pitchers Logan Bawcom and Carson Smith, left-handed pitchers Bobby LaFromboise and James Paxton, catcher Mike Zunino and infielders Vinnie Catricala, Nick Franklin and Stefen Romero. Romero is listed as a taxi squad member, which means he is only activated only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Franklin was on the also a member of the Peoria Javelinas in 2011 and was named MVP of the Arizona Fall League Rising Stars game. Lance Painter will serve as Pitching Coach for the Peoria Javelinas. The Major League affiliations for each AFL team are as follows: Peoria Javelinas (Mariners, Padres, Phillies, Reds, Twins); Salt Rivers Rafters (Blue Jays, Diamondbacks, Nationals, Rockies, White Sox); Mesa Solar Sox (Astros, Cubs, Dodgers, Orioles, Tigers); Phoenix Desert Dogs (Athletics, Braves, Brewers, Marlins, Rays) and Scottsdale Scorpions (Angels, Giants, Indians, Pirates, Yankees). ALL ABOUT THE HITS: SS Brad Miller currently ranks 2nd amongst all Minor Leaguers this year with 186 hits. Only Reno s Adam Eaton (197) has recorded more hits than Miller this season. Miller is currently batting.334 (186x557) with 110 runs scored, 40 doubles, 7 triples, 15 home runs and 68 RBI in 136 games combined between High Desert and Jackson. His 110 runs scored currently ranks 4th in the Minor Leagues, while his 40 doubles are T10th overall. 100 RBI AND COUNTING: INF Steven Proscia and INF Stefen Romero have each recorded at least 100 RBI, ranking 1st and 2nd amongst all Mariners farmhands this season. There are 19 players in the Minor Leagues this season to knock in at least 100 runs this season. Proscia is currently batting.314 (161x512) with 98 runs scored, 26 doubles, 3 triples, 28 home runs and 103 RBI in 127 games combined between High Desert and Jackson. Romero is currently batting.352 (167x474) with 85 runs scored, 34 doubles, 7 triples, 23 home runs and 101 RBI in 116 games combined between High Desert and Jackson. DSL MVP: CF Gabriel Guerrero, hit.355 (71x200) with 38 runs scored, 9 doubles, 4 triples, 11 home runs and 54 RBI in 50 games for the Mariners in the Venezuelan Summer League enroute to be named DSL Most Valuable Player. Claudio Almonte was named Manager of the year. Guerrero led the DSL in home runs (11) and RBI (54), while ranking 3rd in slugging percentage (.605) and 5th in average (.355). Guerrero became the 2nd Mariners farmhand (3rd overall in 2012) to hit for the cycle when he accomplished the feat June 28 as the DSL Mariners defeated the DSL Royals 9-1. Guerrero (4x5, 3 R, 2B, 3B, HR, 3 RBI) grounded out (5-3) in his first at-bat in the bottom of the 1st inning, hit a 2-run homer in the 3rd, singled and scored in the 5th, had a RBI double in the 6th inning and finished the cycle with a triple and run scored in the 8th. He finished the season with the AZL Mariners batting.333 (25x75) with 17 runs scored, 5 doubles, 4 home runs 18 RBI in 18 games. Guerrero finished the season on an 11-game hit streak, batting.333 (15x45) with 10 runs scored, 2 doubles, 4 home runs and 11 RBI. VSL MVP: CF Jesus Ugueto, hit.388 (107x276) with 72 runs scored, 16 doubles, 6 triples, 6 home runs and 49 RBI in 71 games for the Mariners in the Venezuelan Summer League enroute to be named VSL Most Valuable Player. He led the league in hits, average, runs scored, total bases (153), games played, at-bats, walks (35), on-base percentage (.458) and slugging percentage (.554), while ranking T1st in extra-base hits (28), 2nd in RBI and triples and 3rd in stolen bases (22). Ugueto hit safely in 60 of 71 games with 33 multi-hit efforts. He recorded 3 hitting streaks of 12-or-more games, including a season-high 15-game hit streak, June 19-July 4. AN ALL-STAR AMONG US: The Mariners had 20 Minor League players named to a 2012 Mid-Season All- Star team, including 2 players from Triple-A Tacoma in the PCL, 8 players from the Double-A Jackson in the Southern League, 5 from Single- A High Desert in the California League, 3 from Single-A Clinton in the Midwest League and 2 from the DSL Mariners in the Dominican Summer League. Trevor Miller EVERETT PDC CONTRACT: Seattle Mariners Vice President of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik and Director of Player Development Chris Gwynn have announced the extension of the Player Development Contract with the Everett AquaSox, their Short-A affiliate in the Northwest League. The Player Development Contract, which would have run out at the end of the 2012 season, has been extended to cover the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The AquaSox have been affiliated with the Seattle Mariners for 18 seasons, becoming the Mariners affiliate in the Northwest League on September 12, The AquaSox play their home games at Everett Memorial Stadium, located in Everett, Wash., less than 30 miles north of Seattle.

3 MARINERS MINOR LEAUGE AFFILIATES POSTSEASON TEAM RECAPS Mobile Jackson AA JACKSON GENERALS SOUTHERN LEAGUE 7 runs, 11 hits, 3 errors 2 runs, 5 hits, 0 errors RECAP: Mobile used a 5-run 5th inning to defeat Jackson 7-2 on Wednesday night and even the Southern League Championship Series at 1-1. The BayBears sent eight hitters to the dish in the 5th inning and scored 5 runs. Jackson added 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning when 2B Stefen Romero brought in CF Denny Almonte and SS Brad Miller with a double to right. Romero (2x4, 2B, 2 RBI) and Miller (2x5, R) each recorded 2 hits, while Almonte (1x3, R, BB) added Jackson s only other hit. Starter James Gillheeney (5.0,9,6,6,0,4,HR,WP) recorded the loss, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits in 5.0 innings. LH Jose Jimenez allowed a run in the top of the 9th, while Forrest Snow (2.0,0,0,0,0,2), Jonathan Arias (1.0,0,0,0,0,3) and Moises Hernandez (0.2,0,0,0,0,0) each had a scoreless outing for the Generals. SERIES RECORD: Jackson and Mobile are tied 1-1 in best-of-5 Southern League Championship Series. POST-SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: During the first 6 games of the postseason Jackson is batting.286 (58x203) with 28 runs scored, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs and 28 RBI. The pitching staff is 4-2 with a 2.21 ERA (13 ER, 53.0 IP), while walking 18 and striking out 49 in the first 6 games. C Mike Zunino currently leads the team in runs scored (6), home runs (3) and RBI (8). Overall he is batting.381 (8x21) with 6 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs and 8 RBI in 6 games. SS Brad Miller has hit safely in each of the first 6 games during the post-season, batting.407 (11x27) with 5 runs scored, 2 doubles and 2 RBI. INF Stefen Romero is currently batting.400 (10x25) with 3 runs scored, 2 doubles, 4 RBI and 1 walk. OF Chih-Hsien Chiang (.348/8x23, R, 2B, 5 RBI) and OF Johermyn Chavez (.211/4x19, R, 2B, HR, 5 RBI) each have knocked in 5 runs during the postseason. RH Logan Bawcom (4.0,2,0,0,2,4) has tossed a scoreless inning in each of the 4 games he has appeared. SOUTHERN LEAGUE POST-SEASON ALL-STARS: Today the Southern League announced its 2012 Postseason All-Star Team as voted upon by league field managers, radio broadcasters and print media. The Jackson Generals had 3 representatives on the team. Right-handed reliever Carter Capps was named the league s best relief pitcher, RH Brandon Maurer was named the league s top right-handed starting pitcher and Jesus Sucre was named the top catcher in the league. Capps, 22, made 38 relief appearances for the Generals this season posting 19 saves. At the time of his promotion on July 28, he ranked first in the league in saves. Capps struck out 72 hitters and walked just 12 in 50.0 innings in the Southern League. He was a midseason Southern League All-Star. Capps made just 1 appearance with Triple-A Tacoma and was activated by the Seattle Mariners on July 31. Capps has made 7 appeared for the Mariners going 0-0, with a 5.87 ERA with one hold. Capps made his Major League debut on August 3 against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. He was the 3rd member of the 2011 draft class to make his ML debut. Maurer, 22, ranks 4th in the Southern League with a 3.20 ERA. This season he has posted a 9-3 record. (.818 winning percentage) that leads the league. He is tied for the Generals lead in wins (9) and leads the team in strikeouts (117) and innings pitched (137.1). Since June 1 he is 7-1 with a 2.50 ERA (24 ER, 86.1 IP) with 10 quality starts in 14 starts. During this stretch has lowered his season ERA from 4.38 to Sucre, 24, leads all Southern League catchers with a.271 average this season. Sucre was a midseason All-Star and in 89 games has 1 home run and 30 RBI. Sucre has been outstanding defensively this season posting no errors. He has also thrown out and astounding 43.7 percent of Southern League base steale MAURER NAMED SOUTHERN LEAGUE OUTSTANDING PITCHER: The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs has announced Brandon Maurer of the Jackson Generals as its 2012 Most Outstanding Pitcher. Votes for this award were received from league field managers, radio broadcasters and print media. Maurer was the first member of the Generals franchise to be named the league's Most Outstanding Pitcher since Ricky Nolasco in 2005 when the club was known as the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, Maurer went 9-2 with a 3.20 ERA in 24 starts. He led the league with an.818 winning percentage and ranked 5th in ERA, helping Jackson record the best record in the Southern League (79-61). On June 11, Maurer pitched 7.1 innings of an 8-0 win against Jacksonville as Jackson clinched the first-half title in the Southern League.s North Division. It was 1 of 11 starts in which Maurer allowed 1 earned run or fewer. Maurer was particularly dominant in July, going 3-0 with a 1.99 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings. He limited the opposition to a.198 batting average that month without surrendering a home run in 5 starts. Overall, Maurer gave up only 4 homers in innings in The 22-year-old Maurer concluded his regular season with 6.0 scoreless innings in a 5-2 win against Mississippi on August 16. It was Maurer's 14th quality start of the season. Selected in the 23rd round of the 2008 draft by the Seattle Mariners, Maurer had managed only 7 wins in his first 4 professional seasons. The native of Costa Mesa, CA recorded his 7th win of 2012 on July 17.

4 REGULAR SEASON NOTES: The Generals 79 wins are the 3rd-most in franchise history and most since The 2005 Diamond Jaxx won 83 games and the 1999 Diamond Jaxx won a record 84 games. Last season the Generals won just 68 games and the most won since becoming at Mariners affiliate in 2006 was 75 that season. The Generals pitching staff lead the league in ERA (3.37). The Generals position players also lead the league in total bases (1878), slugging percentage (.404) and home runs (118), while tying first in average (.261). Over the course of the last 48 games, the Generals have hit 50 home runs, including 15 multi-homer games. C Jesus Sucre was the only qualifying catcher in the league to not have an error this season. He led allow SL catcher with a fielding percentage (0 ER, 769 TC). He also finished 2nd in the league with a.444 (40 SB, 32 CS) caught stealing percentage. INF Stefen Romero hit safely in 21 of his last 22 games with 10 multi-hit efforts, batting.375 (33x88) with 18 runs scored, 3 doubles, 2 triples, 7 home runs and 18 RBI. Romero also hit safely 47 of 55 games (w/ab) with 25 multi-hit games with Jackson since his promotion, batting.347 (75x216) with 38 runs scored, 15 doubles, 4 triple, 12 home runs and 50 RBI. SS Brad Miller hit safely in 13 of his last 16 games, batting.361 (22x61) with 9 runs scored, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run and 5 RBI. He led all Mariners farmhands with 57 multi-hit games this season, batting a combined.334 (186x557) with 110 runs scored, 40 doubles, 7 triples, 15 home runs and 68 RBI in 136 games combined between High Desert and Jackson. Today s probable starter: RH Taijuan Walker (0-1, 1.23) at Mobile MARINERS MINOR LEAUGE AFFILIATES TEAM SEASON RECAPS TACOMA SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: AAA TACOMA RAINIERS PCL The Rainiers, led by Manager Daren Brown, finished 4th in the Pacific Coast League North Division with a record and 18.0 game behind Reno in Marked the 24th losing season in franchise history (since 1960). The Rainiers 81 losses are the most recorded by the club since the Tacoma Tigers went following the 1984 season. This will be just the 5th losing season for Brown, who is currently in his 15th year managing in the minors. Following the Rainiers victory over Tucson on May 28, Daren Brown passed Dan Rohn to become the winningest manager in Tacoma franchise history. Currently in his 12th season managing in the Mariners organization and his 6th with Tacoma, Brown has amassed a (.523) record over his 14-year managerial career. DH Luis Jimenez and C Guillermo Quiroz represented the Rainiers at the 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game. Jimenez was the starting designated hitter and Quiroz was a reserve catcher as the PCL squad took on the All-Stars of the International League on July 11. The selections mark the 1st season the Rainiers have had more than 1 player named to the Triple-A All-Star Game since OF Chris Shelton and INF Brian LaHair were both tabbed to represent the PCL during the 2009 season. James Gillheeney Danny Hultzen Anthony Fernandez Roenis Elias Taijuan Walker INF Luis Jimenez (Player of the Year), LHP Bobby LaFromboise (Pitcher of the Year) and SS Carlos Triunfel (Defensive Player of the Year) earned team awards from the Rainiers. Tacoma used 57 players already during the 2012 season, including 24 position players and 33 pitchers. That includes 21 players (10 position players, 11 pitchers) that also were listed on the Mariners active roster at some point during the 2012 season. The Rainiers wrapped up the season batting.264 (1307x4960) with 709 runs scored, 285 doubles, 26 triples, 152 home runs and 660 RBI. Tacoma s 152 home runs ranked 2nd in the PCL, behind only New Orleans 153 homers. Tacoma featured 8 different players with doubledigits in home runs (Peguero - 21, Jimenez - 20, Quiroz - 15, Rodriguez - 12, Wilson - 12, Liddi - 11, Catricala - 10, Triunfel - 10) and 6 players with at least 50 RBI (Jimenez - 81, Triunfel - 62, Catricala - 60, Peguero - 54, Quiroz - 52, Rodriguez - 51).

5 Jimenez hit.310 (146x471) with 64 runs scored, 32 doubles, 2 triples, 20 home runs and 18 RBI in 125 with the Rainiers. During the month of August, he led the PCL in on-base percentage (.462) and OPS (1.148), while ranking 2nd in slugging (.687) and total bases (68), T2nd in extra-base hits (17), 5th in average (.364), T5th in RBI (23) and home runs (7) and T9th in hits (35). Jimenez reached base safely in 28 consecutive games, April 29-June 1, batting.382 (39x102) with 22 runs scored, 8 doubles, 5 home run and 24 RBI; was tied for the 10th-longest streak in the PCL this season. Jimenez was selected by Seattle on Sept. 4. After 14 seasons and 916 games in the Minor Leagues, Jimenez made his ML debut with the Mariners as a pinch hitter (0x1) on Sept. 4 vs. Boston. INF Carlos Triunfel was ranked by Baseball America as Seattle s No. 25 prospect and listed as having the Best Infield Arm in the farm system. He hit.260 (129x496) with 74 runs scored, 31 doubles, 2 triples, 10 home runs and 62 RBI in a team-high 131 games. Triunfel led the team with 74 runs scored, while finishing 2nd on the Rainiers with 129 hits, 31 doubles, 62 RBI. He also set career-highs with 10 home runs (previous: 7, 2010 with West Tenn), 31 doubles (previous: 28, 2011 combined between Jackson and Tacoma) and 62 RBI (previous: 49, 2008 with High Desert). He was named the Rainiers Defensive Player of the Year. Triunfel was recalled to Seattle on Sept. 4 and made his Major League debut as a pinch hitter on Sept. 7 vs. Oakland (0x1). INF Nick Franklin, who was promoted from AA Jackson on June 20 produced a career-high 4 RBI after hitting his first career grand slam in his 300th minor league game on June 30 vs. Fresno. He had turned in 9 three-rbi games prior to the bases-loaded blast. Franklin hit.243 (65x267) with 39 runs scored, 15 doubles, 5 triples, 7 home runs and 29 RBI in 64 games with the Rainiers. Franklin hit.322 (66x205) with 25 runs scored, 17 doubles, 4 triples, 4 home runs and 26 RBI in 57 games with Jackson. He was named Southern League Player of the Week, May 28-June 3. At the time of his promotion ranked 2nd in the Southern League in average (.322) and T3rd with a.394 on-base percentage. Franklin was the starting shortstop in the Southern League All-Star game, going 0x3 with a walk. Franklin was recently named the Topps Southern League Player of the Month for May, an award voted upon by Southern League Field managers. He is the Generals first recipient of the honor since Mike Wilson in June of He led the Southern League with a.394 average (28x71), which ranked 8th in all of Minor League Baseball in May. He also led the league with a.457 on-base percentage and a.648 slugging percentage, adding up to a OPS that was good for second in Double A. INF/OF Mike Carp has appeared in 318 games with the Rainiers since 2009 and among Tacoma all-time batting leaders he ranks 2nd in home runs (67), 9th in total bases (598) and RBI (219), and 11th in runs scored (199). INF Luis Rodriguez recorded a career-high 21-game hit streak, which currently ranks T4thlongest in the PCL this season. During the streak, from May 4-26, he hit.425 (84x80) with 18 runs scored, 5 doubles, 1 home run, 1 RBI and 15 RBI. Rodriguez also reached base safely in 30 consecutive games, May 1-June 2, batting.377 (43x114) with 21 runs scored, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home runs and 20 walks. His on-base streak is currently the 7th-longest streak in the PCL this season. Mitchell and RH Danny Farquhar were acquired from the New York Yankees in exchanged for OF Ichiro Suzuki on July 23. Tacoma Rainiers LH Danny Hultzen was selected by voters as the winning pitcher. Hultzen made his Minor League Baseball debut this season with the Double-A Jackson Generals. After going 8-3 with a 1.19 ERA and being named a Southern League All-Star, Hultzen was promoted to Triple-A. He is among the full season leaders in batting average against and ERA. The Seattle Mariners selected Hultzen with the number two overall pick of the 2011 Draft out of the University of Virginia. DH Jack Marder had hit safely in all 4 game during the postseason, batting.647 (11x17) with 7 runs scored, 1 double, 4 RBI and 3 walks. INF Stephen Proscia (.353/6x17, 6 R, 3 2B, HR, 8 RBI, 2 BB) led the team leads the team in both extra-base hits and RBI. OF James Jones finished 2nd on the team in average, batting.421 (8x19) with 7 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple and 4 RBI. 7 CALIFORNIA LEAGUE AWARDS: C John Hicks, INF Steven Proscia, OF Leon Landry, and LHP Roenis Elias were named to the California League Post-Season All-Star squad. Hicks, who was also a midseason All-Star, is hitting.305 (149x489) with 81 runs scored, 31 doubles, 2 triples, 13 home runs and 75 RBI in 117 games with High Desert. He has also thrown out 52.4 percent of attempted basestealers this year (54 CS, 49 SB), close to the league record of 52.6 percent by Hideyuki Yaduda with Palm Springs in Proscia, who has played first, second and third base this year, is hitting.333 (145x436) with 88 runs scored, 24 doubles, 3 triples, 23 home runs and 94 RBI in 106 games with the Mavericks. He hit 3 home runs in a game twice this season, only the fourth player to do so in league history. Landry started the year with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and became a Maverick when the Los Angeles Dodgers organization traded him to the Mariners at the trading deadline. He leads the league in hits, and has 18 triples, 4 shy of the league record. Elias is 11-6 with a 3.76 ERA and 128 strikeouts in innings as the Mavericks No. 1 starter. Pedro Grifol was also named the California League Manager of the Year after leading the Mavericks to both the first and second half titles in the California League South Division. Jack Howell also took home some hardware as he was named the Cal League Coach of the Year. In his first season as the Mavericks hitting coach, Howell has helped the offense lead the league in nearly every offensive category. MAVERICKS NEW LEASE AGREEMENT WITH CITY: The High Desert Mavericks and the City of Adelanto have signed a three-year lease with three one-year options that will keep the California League team at Stater Bros. Stadium, the home of the Mavericks, through at least the 2015 season. The Mavericks, the advanced Class-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, have played at Mavericks Stadium, now Stater Bros. Stadium, since Main Street Baseball co-owners Heller and Bob Herrfeldt bought the team in A CLINTON LUMBERKINGS MIDWEST LEAGUE CLINTON SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: The LumberKings finished last amongst the 16 MWL teams in the first half, going just and finishing 20.5 games behind first-place Wisconsin. In the second half, manager Eddie Menchaca s LumberKings went 1-4 in the first 5 games, but went finished since June 27th. During that stretch they won 16 series and lost only 4. The LumberKings finished 1st in the West in the second half with a record (a 25-win improvement over the first half), including winning a season-high 10 game to conclude the seaon. Overall the LumberKings finished the season 3rd in the West, 6th in the Midwest League as a whole (71-67). The LumberKings defeated Beloit 2-1 in the first-round of the playoffs, but loss to Wisconsin in the Midwest League West Division final 0-2. The LumberKings won 48 games in the second half, the most wins in a half by any Clinton baseball team in 76 years. The '63 Clinton C- Sox won 44 games in the first-half and went on to win the league championship, while the '93 Clinton Giants won 44 times in the first half. Clinton enjoyed some big numbers as a team in the month of August. The LumberKings went 23-7 (1st in MWL) and hit.277 (3rd in MWL) as a team, their highest monthly average this season. Clinton s combined team ERA in August was 2.94 (1st in MWL), which is their lowest monthly ERA this year. Clinton finished 5th in the Midwest League, batting.259 (1208x4665) with 650 runs scored, 248 doubles, 29 triples, 102 home runs and 580 RBI in 138 games. OF Jabari Blash, OF Ramon Morla and INF Daniel Paolini each scored at least 60 runs, hit at least 20 doubles, 10 home runs and recorded at least 50 RBI. Paolini led the team with a.299 average and 73 RBI, while tying for the team lead with 18 doubles. OF Jamal Austin led the team with 72 runs scored and stole a team-high 36 bases. Paolini hit.299 (125x418) with 68 runs scored, 27 doubles, 18 home runs and 73 RBI in 111 games with Clinton. After batting.255 through the first 3 months of the season, he hit.345 (71x206) with 41 runs scored, 15 doubles, 14 home runs and 49 RBI in his final 52 games from July 2-Sept. 3. During this stretch he led the Midwest League in RBI, while finishing 2nd in average, T2nd in extra-base hits (29) and T3rd in runs scored. Paolini recorded 37 of his 73 RBI in 29 games in the month of August. Austin hit.283 (127x449) with 72 runs scored, 14 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs, 33 RBI and 36 stolen bases in 110 games with the LumberKings. His 36 stolen bases led all Mariners farmhands. Austin reached base safely in 37 consecutive games, April 14-May 26, which was tied for the longest consecutive on-base streak in the Midwest League this season. During this stretch he hit.307 (46x107) with 20 runs scored, doubles, 1 triple, 9 RBI and 12 walks. He also set a LumberKings team record with hits in 9 consecutive at-bats from June 30-July 1, but fell 1 hit shy of tying the Midwest League record set by Fort Wayne's Rene Lopez from May 27-29, He went 9-for-9 with 5 runs scored, 1 home run and 5 RBI during this stretch. The LumberKings pitching staff had a 3.71 ERA (504 ER, IP), while walking 392 and striking out 930 strikeouts. RH Trevor Miller led the team with 7 wins (prior to his promotion to A High Desert), while RH Stephen Shackleford led the team with 11 saves, despite only appearing in 28 games in relief. Miller also led the team with 84 strikeouts. Shackleford, who made his season debut with Clinton on June 2, went 6-2 with 11 saves a 1.47 ERA (7 ER, 43.0 IP) in 28 relief appearances with Clinton. He held opponents to a.226 (36x159) average, while walking 16 and striking out 42. Shackleford held opponents scoreless in 22 of 28 appearances, including a season-high 14.2 consecutive innings with out an earned run, Aug. 9-Sept. 2. LH Jordan Shipers went 4-5 with a 3.89 ERA (51 ER, IP) in 23 starts. Over his first 8 starts, went 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA (8 ER, 52.0 IP), but was 2-5 with a 5.86 ERA (43 ER, 66.0 IP) in last 15 starts of the season. Shipers (9.0,3,0,0,2,6) tossed his first career complete game shutout on May 5 vs. Burlington. Shipers threw the 21st no-hitter in the 76-year Clinton baseball history as Clinton shutout West Michigan 10-0 on July 11 vs. West Michigan. Shipers (9.0,0,0,0,2,2) no-hitter was the first for the LumberKings since Domingo Valdez accomplished the feat in game 2 of a doubleheader (7.0 innings) against Kane County on July 9, Scott Dunn threw a perfect game for the LumberKings on August 3, 2000 against Lansing. Shipers needed just 93 pitches to get through the night. Also marked the first time in the Midwest League since May 4, when the LumberKings themselves fell victim to Wisconsin's Chad Thompson and Mark Williams.

8 RH Matt Brazis allowed a single to the first batter faced on July 30 vs. Wisconsin, snapping a string 29 consecutive batters retired dating back to June 28 with Pulaski. He also allowed his first earned run of the season, snapping a string of 9.1 scoreless innings to begin his career. Overall Brazis is 2-0 with 7 saves and a 0.65 ERA (2 ER, 27.2 IP) in his first 18 career relief appearances combined between Pulaski and Clinton. He has limited opponents to a.117 average (11x94) while walking 5 and striking out 51. Since moving in to Clinton s starting rotation on July 15, Bobby Shore went 3-1 with a 1.63 ERA (10 ER, 55.1 IP) in 10 starts. He has limited opponents to a.201 average (41x204), while walking 13 and striking out 51 as a starter. Overall Shore went 4-3 with a 1.98 ERA (15 ER, 72.2 IP) in 18 games, 1 starts combined between Everett and Clinton. LH Kyle Hunter led all relievers with 39 appearances and 71 strikeouts. His 84.2 innings led the bullpen, while ranking 3rd overall all the LumberKings pitching staff. He went 4-5 with a 2.98 ERA (28 ER, 84.2 IP) in 39 relief appearnces with Clinton. Hunter tossed at least 2.0 innings in 25 of his appearances, including 14 of his final 17 games. In 6 starts with Clinton, Jordan Pries is 4-0 with a 3.86 ERA (14 ER, 32.2 IP). Short-A Everett AquaSox Northwest LEAGUE EVERETT SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: Everett led the Northwest League with 28 wins in the first half, going and went over the final 38 games of the season. McGruder led the Northwest League with 30 stolen bases, while ranking 2nd amongst all Mariners farmhands. Kivlehan hit.301 (85x282) with 46 runs scored, 17 doubles, 3 triples, 12 home runs and 52 RBI in 72 games. He finished amongst the league leaders in nearly every offensive category, including slugging percentage (1st,.511), home runs (T1st, 12), totals bases (2nd, 144), extra-base hits (2nd, 32), RBI (T2nd, 52), at-bats (2nd, 282) hits (3rd, 85), runs scored (3rd, 46), games (3rd, 72), average (T3rd,.301) and doubles (T4th, 17). Kivlehan hit safely in 52 of 72 games with 27 multi-hit games. Ard hit.284 (84x296) with 44 runs scored, 21 doubles, 3 triples, 12 home runs and 58 RBI in 75 games. He led the Northwest League in RBI (84), at-bats (296), games played (75), doubles, (21), extra-base hits (36) and total bases (147), while ranking T1st in the league in home runs (12), 2nd in slugging percentage (.497), 5th in runs scored and 10th in average (.284). Ard recorded a team-high 16-game hit streak from July 25-Aug. 10, which was the T5th-longest in the Northwest League in During the streak he hit.354 (23x65) with 8 runs scored, 7 doubles, 3 home runs and 15 RBI. Zunino, the Mariners 2012 first-round draft selection out of the University of Florida, was the 3rd overall selection in the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Draft and was the recipient of the 2012 Golden Spikes Award. With Everett, Zunino reached base safely in 26 of his 29 games, and recorded hits in 23 games to begin his career. He hit.373 (41x110) with 29 runs, 10 doubles, 10 home runs, 35 RBI and 18 walks with the AquaSox. Prior to his promotion to Jackson on August 12, Zunino had a 6-game hitting streak (.583, 14x24, 7 R, 3 2B, 3 HR, 16 RBI). Despite only appearing in 29 games, Zunino T4th the Northwest League in home runs (10). With the late start on the season, Zunino lacked the at-bats to qualify for the batting title, a race he would have won. He was named the Northwest League Player of the week 3 times, including back-to-back weeks to begin his career (July 16-22, July & Aug. 6-12). Overall Zunino hit.360 (58x161) with 35 runs scored, 14 doubles, 13 home runs and 43 RBI in 44 games combined between Everett and AA Jackson. Everett s pitching finished 4th in the Northwest League with a 3.84 ERA, while leading the league with 26 saves. The AquaSox limited opponents to a.254 (627x2561) average, while walking 297 and striking out 606. RH Dylan Unsworth went 7-2 with a 3.90 ERA (37 ER, 85.1 IP) in 14 starts with Everett this season. He has recorded 3 or less earned runs in 11 of his 14 starts, while recording 8 quality starts. Unsworth led the AquaSox with 85.1 innings, while finishing 2nd with 67 strikeouts. He also led the Northwest League in innings pitched, while ranking T3rd in wins and 4th in strikeouts. In 12 starts this season, RH Victor Sanchez went 6-2 with 3.18 ERA (30 ER, 85.0 IP).
