South Standings: At 55-60, Gwinnett trails Durham (71-45) by a season-high 15.5 games for first place in the International League South Division. The G-Braves, winners of the IL South in 2016, lead third-place Norfolk (54-63) by 2.0 games and fourth-place Charlotte (46-70) by 9.5 games. All-Time vs. Louisville: The G-Braves are (.463) in 67 games vs. Louisville since 2009, and have won the season series with the Bats just twice: 2011 (5-3) and 2015 (6-4). Last Action: The G-Braves took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, but fell 2-1 to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the finale of the three-game series last night at Coolray Field. That was the only damage against a stout Scranton 8/13 vs. LOU 1:05 PM pitching staff, however, as RHP Luis Cessa, LHP Nestor Cortes, RHP Giovanny Gallegos (W, 4-1) and RHP Ben Heller (S, 5) combined to yield a run on seven hits over 9.0 innings. The RailRiders have won 10 straight games at Coolray Field (including playoffs) dating back to the G-Braves 3-2 win on 4/28/15. Manny Magnificent in Home Debut: The loss spoiled a fantastic Coolray Field debut for RHP Manny Barreda, who tossed 6.0 scoreless, five-hit innings (2 BB, 2 SO, 1 WP) in a no-decision. Since having his on-loan assignment recalled by Atlanta from Tijuana of the Mexican League on 8/4, Barreda is 0-0 with a 2.61 ERA (3 ER in 10.1 IP) in two starts with the G-Braves, his affiliated Triple-A debut. Pen Problems: Last night s blown save was Gwinnett s IL-leading 25 th of the season that s seven more than the next-closest team, Charlotte (18). Overall, G-Braves relievers are with a 4.11 ERA (177 ER in IP) and 26 saves (26-for-51, 51%) in The 25 blown saves are a Gwinnett franchise record, eclipsing the previous record of 21 (31-for-52, 59.6%) in All Eyes on Acuña: 19-year-old Ronald Acuña extended his hitting streak to nine games with his 12 th multi-hit effort in 27 games as a G-Brave last night.
