1 FISH BITES The Marlins conclude the first half of the season today with the finale of a three-game set against the Giants at 4:05 p.m. EDT. Right-hander José Ureña (7-3, 3.43) gets the start for Miami; he has just one career appearance against San Francisco, allowing two runs on five hits in 1.2 relief innings on April 22 of last season, here at AT&T Park. The Giants will call on right-hander Johnny Cueto (6-7, 4.26), who is 4-2 with a 4.64 ERA in nine career starts against the Fish. Miami is 5-4 on this 10-game, three-city road trip that began in Milwaukee (1-2), passed through St. Louis (2-2), and wraps up here in San Francisco (2-0). By securing a series victory with last night's win, the Marlins snapped a streak of 10 consecutive road series without a series win, which tied for the fourth-longest skid in team history, according to Stats LLC. LAST NIGHT AT SAN FRANCISCO The Marlins got off to yet another fast start, scoring twice in the first inning of a 5-4 win over the Giants. Dee Gordon led off the game with a single and scored two batters later on a double by Christian Yelich. Marcell Ozuna followed Yelich with another RBI-double. Justin Bour homered to lead off the fourth, Ozuna struck again with an RBI-single in the fifth, and JT Riddle scored on a wild pitch in the ninth to cap the scoring. Yelich, Ozuna, and J.T. Realmuto had two hits apiece, ending Miami's six-game streak with at least one batter recording three-plus hits. That was tied for the team record, which had been done seven times previously, most recently from April 26-May 1, 2016, according to Elias. VS. THE GIANTS This series has been close over the last two seasons, with Miami holding a 9-6 advantage since the start of Since the start of 2013, only once has one of the clubs won three-straight games: Miami did so from June 30-July 2 in a sweep at Marlins Park. The Giants lead the all-time series, , with a lead by the Bay (30-28 at AT&T Park). However, since 2011, Miami has a 16-7 record (.696) at AT&T Park, tops among National League teams in San Fran in that time. SWEEP INFO Miami today is looking for its seventh sweep of the Giants all-time. All previous sweeps have come in three-game sets, the last from June 30-July 2, 2015 at Marlins Park. It would be Miami's first sweep on the road this season. O'GRADY MAKES A SPLASH Left-hander Chris O'Grady made his Major League debut last night, the 14th southpaw and 36th pitcher overall to make a start in his MLB debut with the Marlins. The outing was a success for O'Grady, who picked up a win after allowing three runs on five hits and two walks, with four strikeouts, over 5.1 innings in a 5-4 victory. He became the 11th pitcher in Club history to start and win his MLB debut, the first since Justin Nicolino on June 20, Miami is now when its starting pitcher is making his MLB debut, 6-8 when a left-hander starts. LEADING OFF Dee Gordon led off last night's game with a single, and came around to score on a double by Christian Yelich. It was the third consecutive game that Gordon has led off with a hit and then scored. According to Elias, the Club record for such a streak is four games, held by Gordon (August 3-7, 2016) and Luis Castillo (July 5-13, 2002). Gordon has batted leadoff eight times on this trip, going 5x8 with three runs scored in the first inning. His.299 (96x321) average as a leadoff hitter ranks fourth in the National League this season. As for the team, Miami scored twice in the first inning last night. It has scored in the first inning in four consecutive games, one shy of tying the Club record of five, which has been done three times: May 22-26, 2008; September 9-13, 2009; Sept , Elias ROAD WARRIOR Marcell Ozuna had a pair of RBI last night, giving him 15 on the current road trip. According to Stats LLC, the 15 RBI ties Miguel Cabrera (June 13-26, 2005, 12-game trip) for the second-most ever by a Marlin on a road trip of 10-plus games. The most was 16, by Cody Ross (July 3-13, 2008, 11 games) and Gary Sheffield (September 11-21, 1995, 10 games). Ozuna is batting.333 (14x42) over the first nine games of this trip, with two doubles and three home runs. FIRST HALF DINGERS Justin Bour hit his 20th home run of the season last night, while Giancarlo Stanton hit his 24th Friday night and Marcell Ozuna hit his 23rd on Wednesday night in St. Louis. It is the first time in Club history that three players reached the 20-homer plateau prior to the All-Star break. Stanton is four home runs behind the club record for a first half, held by Mike Lowell (28) in Miami as a team has hit 101 home runs so far this season, third-most in club history for the first half of a campaign. See the chart at right for a full list of the club's all-time leaders in first-half home runs, by team and individual. TRIPLE THREAT Giancarlo Stanton (24), Marcell Ozuna (23), and Justin Bour (20) have combined for 67 home runs, the second-highest output by a trio of teammates in the Majors this season, behind Cincinnati's Joey Votto (26), Scott Schebler (22), and Adam Duvall (20), with 68. The third highest is 63, by Oakland's Khris Davis (24), Yonder Alonso (20), and Ryon Healy (19).
