Anibal Sanchez recorded his first quality start of the season, but took the loss after allowing three runs on five hits, striking out five and walking one in 6.1 innings. Torii Hunter had two hits with a run scored and a double to lead the Detroit offense. Alex Avila drove in the Tigers only run of the game and went 1x4 with a double. The Tigers play game two of their four-game series against the White Sox tonight. THE NEED FOR SPEED: The Tigers led the majors with 33 stolen bases during Spring Training and have continued their thievery in the regular season, stealing 16 bases, which ranks third among American League teams.
