Anibal Sanchez recorded his first quality start of the season, but took the loss after allowing three runs on five hits, striking out five and walking one in 6.1 innings. Torii Hunter had two hits with a run scored and a double to lead the Detroit offense. Alex Avila drove in the Tigers only run of the game and went 1x4 with a double. The Tigers play game two of their four-game series against the White Sox tonight. THE NEED FOR SPEED: The Tigers led the majors with 33 stolen bases during Spring Training and have continued their thievery in the regular season, stealing 16 bases, which ranks third among American League teams. The Tigers 16 stolen bases in the month of April is tied for 10th most in franchise history and is the most in the month of April since the 1999 team swiped 21 bases. RAJAI RACKING UP THE STOLEN BASES: Rajai Davis has been one of the top stolen base threats in the American League in recent years and he s continued that in Davis currently ranks fourth in the American League with seven stolen bases.
