ROSTER MOVE--The Royals today recalled outfielder Jorge Soler from his minor league injury rehab stint with Omaha (AAA) and activated him from the 10-day disabled list...soler, 25, has been out since mid-spring training with a left oblique strain, but once deemed ready for action was assigned to the Storm Chasers where he batted.308 (12-for-39) in 11 games with three home runs and seven RBI...included was a 6-game hitting streak snapped on Thursday in which he batted.409 (9-for-22)... to make room on the roster, Kansas City optioned pitcher Miguel Almonte back to Northwest Arkansas (AA) just a day after he was recalled to replace Ian Kennedy. BACK IN THE LAND OF HOZ--Eric Hosmer s sizzling week continued last night with three hits, featuring a double and 2-run homer, the roundtripper a Statcast estimated 458-foot blast that staked KC to a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning...hoz has now hit safely in nine straight games at a.441 clip (15-for-34) highlighted by a OPS, upping his season average to.271 entering play today...it s a 79-point turnaround from where he was after play on April 24, when he was mired with a.192 season average, with a.500 OPS...he s been particularly en fuego in the last three games going 7-for-10.
