Columbia, SC QUICK HITS GAMECOCKS FINISH SECOND IN THE SEC EASTERN DIVISION South Carolina was selected to finish in second place in the Eastern Division in the 2010 SEC Preseason Coaches Poll that was released on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Carolina has finished in the upper half of the SEC Eastern Division 13 of 18 seasons since joining the league including 10 of 13 years under head coach Ray Tanner. The 2010 season begins on Friday, February 19 as the Gamecocks host a three-game series with Duquesne at Carolina Stadium. LSU is the choice to win the 2010 SEC championship with five of 11 votes from the head coaches. Florida was selected to win the Eastern Division with nine of 12 votes. South Carolina received two first place votes for the Eastern Division. In addition to picking a preseason champion, the head coaches voted a predicted order of finish in the SEC Eastern and Western Divisions. Points were compiled on a basis for each division. Friday s opener is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Doug Kingsmore Stadium with Saturday s contest at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. at 2 p.m. and the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Carolina Stadium, also a 2 p.m. start. All three games can be heard at GamecocksOnline.com. Friday and Sunday s games are available on FM, The Game with Saturday s contest on WISW 1320 AM. Under head coach Ray Tanner, the Gamecocks are against the Tigers including nine victories in the last 12 contests between the two schools. PRICE & BRADLEY AWARDS Following the conclusion of Sunday afternoon s contest, the Tom Price Award and Bob Bradley Award will be presented to the respective MVP s from South Carolina and Clemson for the series. Both Bradley and Price served as Baseball SIDs at their respective schools for decades and were important in the promotion of collegiate baseball across the state and in the country. Bradley passed away in 2000, while Price passed away on February 1, QUICK RECAP Scott Wingo and Whit Merrifield each homered and Gamecock starter Nolan Belcher combined with four relievers for a two-hit shutout as 15th ranked South Carolina defeated Presbyterian 15-0 on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference tilt at Carolina Stadium. Belcher was dominant on the hill for the Gamecocks with five scoreless innings and just one infield hit allowed. He struck out seven and walked one to earn his first win of the year. Matt Price also struck out one in one inning of relief with Parker Bangs striking out two batters in his stint. Freshmen Ethan Carter and Colby Holmes closed the game out with an inning apiece as well. South Carolina pitchers had 10 strikeouts to two walks on the afternoon. Presbyterian reliever Jesse Harmon went 1.2 innings and allowed seven runs on five hits to suffer the loss. He is 0-1 on the year. Carolina s 18 hits included eight doubles and a pair of homers. The eight doubles tied for the fourth highest mark by a team coached by Ray Tanner in South Carolina history. Merrifield finished 3-for-6 with a grand slam homer and also scored two runs. HITTING SAFELY Junior outfielder Whit Merrifield has hit safely in all seven games this and owns a 21-game hitting streak that began last season. Merrifield is batting.333 (10-for-30) on the year with a homer and six RBI. He also leads the team and is among the SEC leaders with 11 runs scored. STELLAR START ON THE MOUND After the first seven games, the Gamecock pitching staff is 5-2 with a 2.63 ERA in 61.2 innings. The staff has 71 strikeouts to 19 walks with opponents only hitting.217 on the year. HANGING WITH MR. COOPER Senior right-hander Blake Cooper continues to pitch stellar on the mound as he earned a victory in the 6-2 win over ECU. Cooper allowed just two runs on four hits while striking out four batters and walking two. He is now 2-0 on the year with a 3.00 ERA and has 12 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts and four walks allowed. Cooper now has 23 career wins, one behind Bret Baynham ( ) for 13th on the South Carolina career victories list. His 23 career victories tie him for the second highest total of current pitchers in the nation with wins. ENDERS NAMED TO JOHNNY BENCH AWARD WATCH LIST South Carolina senior catcher Kyle Enders has been named to the 2010 Johnny Bench Award official watch list as announced by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission. The Coleman Company-Johnny Bench Award delivered by Papa John s Pizza is given annually to the top Division I collegiate catcher. Enders is off to a great start this year for the Gamecocks having hit safely in all six games played this year and owning a.450 batting average (9-for-20). WINGO TIES SCHOOL RECORD FOR HIT BY PITCHES Scott Wingo was 2-for-3 with four runs scored and was twice hit by pitch in the win over Presbyterian. He is now tied for the school career record with 34 hit by pitches along with Garris Gonce ( ) and Michael Campbell ( ). HE S BACK South Carolina sophomore outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. made his first start of the year in the 15-0 win over Presbyterian. Bradley was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored in the victory. He was limited in the first two weeks of play to defensive action due to recovery from a broken right hand. SOUTH CAROLINA IN THE RANKINGS South Carolina is ranked No. 13 by Rivals.com, No. 15 by Baseball America, No. 22 by Collegiate Baseball and No. 23 by USA Today/ESPN (Coaches) released Monday afternoon. 4

5 25 NCAA Appearances SAM THE MAN Junior right-hander Sam Dyson worked four innings and allowed two runs on two hits with five strikeouts and one walk in a no-decision vs. East Carolina. Dyson has also been decent on the mound in 7.2 innings with 11 strikeouts to two walks and just two hits allowed in his first two games of the year. The opposing batters are hitting against him, that is the lowest batting average among SEC leaders. Dyson is one of several players in the nation on the Golden Spikes Award watch list presented by USA Baseball. The award is given to the top amateur player in the country. Dyson was effective in his first start vs. Duquesne as he pitched 3.2 hitless innings in a predetermined split and allowed just one walk while striking out six of the 12 batters he faced. SHARP WEBB Another solid outing for the Gamecocks came from freshman left-hander Tyler Webb, who hurled 4.1 scoreless innings of relief in Sunday s loss to East Carolina. Webb yielded jus two hits and struck out three batters. He has pitched 8.2 scoreless innings in his first two appearances with the Gamecocks. Webb is one of three players listed by the SEC for lowest earned run average (0.00). TAYLOR EARNS FIRST SAVE AS A GAMECOCK Junior right-hander John Taylor earned his first career save with 1.1 scoreless innings of relief in Friday s win at East Carolina. A RETURN TO THE FIELD At East Carolina, the Gamecocks saw the return to the lineup of first baseman Nick Ebert, who missed the first week of the season due to academic concerns. Ebert doubled in his first at bat and added four walks and three runs scored vs. the Pirates. He started all three games at first base. FIELDING CONSISTENTLY The Gamecocks have been consistently sound on the defensive end too with a fielding percentage of.985 through the first seven games with just four errors in 265 chances. That percentage is currently the best in the Southeastern Conference. MR. JONES South Carolina s leading run producer on opening weekend was Jeffery Jones with three homers and 10 RBI in a sweep of Duquesne. He tallied first career multi-homer game including a grand slam and a career-high five RBI in Friday s 10-3 win over Duquesne. Jones added a homer, double and four RBI in 13-3 win over the Dukes. He also drove in a run in Sunday s 5-3 victory and finished the weekend with 14 total bases and a slugging percentage. Jones is batting.333 (7-for-21) on the year with a.810 slugging percentage. CHRISTIAN CONNECTS Freshman third baseman Christian Walker opened up his career at South Carolina with strong weekend at the plate vs. Duquesne, batting.571 (8-for-14) with a pair of homers, a double, five runs scored and seven RBI. He finished the weekend with a slugging percentage and tallied three multi-hit games in the series. He also had a 4-for-5 day at the plate with a homer, double and a RBI as well in 13-3 win vs. Duquesne on Saturday. NEFF EARNS FIRST CAREER WIN Sophomore left-hander Steven Neff picked up his first career win in the 5-2 win vs. Duquesne with 1.2 scoreless innings of relief in the 5-3 victory. Neff retired all four batters he faced. Neff is 1-1 on the year with a 5.06 ERA in 5.1 innigns pitched. SOUTH CAROLINA TIES SCHOOL RECORD ON OPENING DAY South Carolina tied a single-game record for times hit by pitch in the openere vs. Duquesne, as five Gamecocks were hit, the fourth time in school history that it has happened. The last time it happened was ironically enough in a season opener in 2008 vs. East Carolina CAPTAINS South Carolina senior right-handed pitcher Jay Brown and senior catcher Kyle Enders have been selected as captains for the 2010 baseball season. Both players earned the honor after a vote by their teammates. After missing the 2008 season, Brown returned to the mound last year and was 3-0 with a 3.35 ERA in 48.2 innings pitched with 35 strikeouts and 23 walks allowed. Last season, Brown was recognized for his community service work off the field as he was named to 2009 SEC Baseball Community Service Team. In addition, he earned the athletic department s prestigious President s Award at the Gamecock Gala. Brown is a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member. Brown has already earned a bachelor s degree in political science and is currently pursuing a master s degree in public administration. Enders is a fifth-year catcher with the Gamecock program. Last season he shared duties behind the plate with Justin Dalles, appearing in 37 games. He has fielded an impressive.994 in his career with just three errors behind the plate. EBERT & DYSON EARN PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA ACCOLADES Senior first baseman Nick Ebert and junior right-handed pitcher Sam Dyson earned Preseason All-America honors for the 2010 season. Dyson was a thord-team Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American with Ebert recognized on the third team released by the NCBWA. Dyson was a frontline starter for Carolina in the 2009 season and compiled a 9-4 record with a 5.21 ERA and hurled a team-high 102 innings. He struck out 94 and walked 37. He allowed 64 runs, 59 earned on 92 hits as well. In his two-year career, Dyson owns a 17-4 record and has 138 strikeouts in innings pitched. He was a 10th round MLB Draft selection by the Oakland A s in 2009 as well. Ebert hit.321 (67-for-209) last year with 23 HR and 72 RBI and was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2009 for the Gamecocks. LIGHTS - CAMERA - ACTION! RAY TANNER South Carolina head coach Ray Tanner is in his 14th season as head coach of the Gamecock baseball team and his 23rd year as a collegiate head coach. Tanner s career record is (.689) with a (.685) mark at South Carolina. The.687 winning percentage is third highest in SEC history. He became the fourth fastest active coach to reach the 800-win plateau in the 2005 season. He has averaged over 44 wins a season and is currently the eighth winningest active coach in Division I college baseball by winning percentage. Atop the list are three consecutive trips to the College World Series from Included in those journeys to Omaha were a national runner-up finish in 2002, a victory over SEC champion LSU in 2003 and three straight wins over perennial powers LSU, Miami (Fla.) and Cal State Fullerton in Under Tanner s leadership, South Carolina owns the longest current streak of NCAA Regional appearances among the 12 SEC schools with 10 straight trips to the tournament dating back to the 2000 season. In that span, Carolina has seven NCAA Super Regional appearances (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007). The Gamecocks totaled 21,216 for three games for an average of 7,072. Saturday s game was the top attendance with 7,926 fans at the game, the fifth highest in the nation over the weekend. 31 25 NCAA Appearances 1 Head Coach Ray Tanner 14th Season at South Carolina 23rd Season Overall Now entering his 14th year as head coach at the University of South Carolina, Ray Tanner continues to lead the Gamecock baseball program to unprecedented heights with his commitment to excellence. The dean of the SEC coaches, over the last decade Tanner has established one of the premier programs in all of college baseball with milestones and accomplishments piling up each season. Atop the list are three consecutive trips to the College World Series from Included in those journeys to Omaha were a national runner-up finish in 2002, a victory over SEC champion LSU in 2003 and three straight wins over perennial powers LSU, Miami (Fla.) and Cal State Fullerton in Under Tanner s leadership, South Carolina owns the longest current streak of NCAA Regional appearances among the 12 SEC schools with 10 straight trips to the tournament dating back to the 2000 season. In that span, Carolina has seven NCAA Super Regional appearances (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007). South Carolina is one of only seven schools in the nation to make at least seven NCAA Super Regionals in the last 10 years and one of only eight schools in the country to have reached the NCAA Regionals every season in this decade. The program s 10-year total record of is the fourth highest win total among NCAA Division I schools. South Carolina has 10 consecutive seasons of 40 or more wins. The Gamecocks have also collected championships in the Southeastern Conference with regular season titles in 2000 and 2002 along with a SEC Tournament crown in Tanner s last 10 teams have featured 19 All-America performers including 2008 consensus first-team All-America first baseman Justin Smoak and shortstop Reese Havens. Tanner and South Carolina returned to the Top 25 in 2009 with a squad that finished the year with a mark in the SEC for second place in the Eastern Division. The Gamecocks finished in second place in the NCAA Greenville (N.C.) Regional. Having to replace several top players from the year before, the Gamecocks showcased new talent that included Jackie Bradley Jr., a consensus Freshman All- America selection, as well as second-team All-SEC first baseman Nick Ebert, who was among the nation s leaders in home runs with 23. Carolina also had several players drafted including sixth round selection Justin Dalles to the Baltimore Orioles and 13th round pick DeAngelo Mack to the New York Yankees. Left-handed pitcher Alex Farotto also was drafted by the Chicago White Sox and signed a professional contract. Mack, Dalles, Ebert and junior shortstop Bobby Haney earned All-SEC accolades with Bradley and left-handed pitcher Nolan Belcher named to the SEC All-Freshman team. Tanner will be in his 23rd year as a collegiate head coach. Tanner s career record is (.689) with a (.686) mark at South Carolina. The.686 winning percentage is third highest in SEC history. He became the fourth fastest active coach to reach the 800-win plateau in the 2005 season. He has averaged over 44 wins a season and is currently the eighth winningest active coach in Division I college baseball by winning percentage. Tanner has also gained valuable experience at an international level in his association with USA Baseball. He has served five stints with Red, White & Blue including his latest in 2003 as head coach for the USA National Baseball Team. At the helm of some of the top freshmen and sophomores in the country, Tanner s club finished with a 27-2 record, the best record for a U.S. National Team (.931 winning percentage) and won a silver medal at the 2003 Pan American Games. He was named the U.S. National Coach of the Year for his work that season. Prior to his head coaching stint, Tanner served as an auxiliary coach for the 2000 Olympic Team under Tommy Lasorda that won a gold medal at the XXVII Olympiad in Sydney, Australia. He was also an assistant with the USA teams under former LSU coach Skip Bertman that culminated in a bronze medal win at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Ga. Tanner also served alongside former Mississippi State coach Ron Polk on Bertman s staff. Tanner s first stint with USA Baseball came as an assistant coach to the national team in the summer of Tanner was named the South Carolina head coach June 14, 1996 after nine successful seasons at North Carolina State. The 1997 Gamecocks compiled a record in Tanner s initial season and qualified for the Southeastern Conference post-season tournament. The 1997 team produced a first-team All-America player in designated hitter Ryan Bordenick. Bordenick and pitcher Brett Jodie were named to the All-SEC team and shortstop Adam Everett was chosen to play with the USA National Team. Bordenick and catcher Rob Streicher were named All-South. The 1998 team was ranked among the top 20 in the nation, compiled a record and earned a bid to the NCAA playoffs with Tanner earning SEC Coach of the Year. Pitcher Kip Bouknight, outfielder Mike Curry and shortstop Adam Everett were named first-team All-SEC. Bouknight, Everett, Curry and Bordenick picked up All- America recognition and pitcher Peter Bauer was named Freshman All-America. The 1999 team won South Carolina s first Southeastern Conference Eastern Division championship and finished with a record. It produced a first-team All-SEC designated hitter Tim Angiolini with shortstop Brian Roberts making the second-team. Roberts led the NCAA in stolen bases with a school record 67 and also earned All-America recognition. Four players from the 1999 squad signed professional contracts. Tanner s 2000 South Carolina team won the Southeastern Conference championship, a regional championship, advanced to a super regional and finished with a record. The 2000 team was ranked first in the final Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) compiled by the NCAA and among the top ten in the three national final polls. Baseball America ranked the Gamecocks fourth, Baseball Weekly eighth and Collegiate Baseball ninth. In addition, Tanner was named National Coach of the Year as well as SEC Coach of the Year for a second time. Pitcher Kip Bouknight,

32 2010 South Carolina Baseball consensus All-America, won the Golden Spikes Award for the nation s top amateur baseball player and finished the year with a 17-1 record. Bouknight and pitcher Scott Barber were first-team selections on the 2000 All-SEC squad and pitcher Peter Bauer, outfielder Nate Janowicz and shortstop Drew Meyer were on the All-SEC secondteam. His 2001 Gamecocks finished with a record, won a regional and advanced to a super regional finishing in the top 15 in the national final polls. Carolina was 12th in the Baseball America poll, 13th in Baseball Weekly and 15th by Collegiate Baseball. The 2001 Gamecocks battled through the loser s bracket to win a second straight regional championship but lost a 3-2 heartbreaker to Stanford in the third and deciding super regional game at Palo Alto, Calif. Tanner s 2001 squad produced two All-America players in pitcher Lee Gronkiewicz, the nation s leader in saves, and catcher Tim Whittaker, who was also a semi-finalist for the Johnny Bench Award. Outfielder Garris Gonce, Gronkiewicz and outfielder Marcus McBeth were All-SEC. In 2002, Tanner and his Gamecocks made it to Omaha and stayed 12 days to finish as National Runner-up. It was the first trip for Tanner and culminated in a national championship showdown between South Carolina and Texas. The Gamecocks won their second SEC championship in three years, Tanner was named 2002 American Baseball Coaches Association South Region Coach of the Year and South Carolina was ranked as the number two team in the nation in all of the final polls. The final 2002 record was 57-18, topping the school record of 56 wins set two years earlier. The 2002 team won four games in the SEC Tournament after winning the official conference title with a 21-8 record in conference games. The Gamecocks then defeated Virginia Commonwealth and North Carolina twice to advance to the super regional for the third year in a row. The Gamecocks won two of three from defending national champion Miami (Fla.) to advance to the College World Series in Omaha. It took a five run ninth inning rally to defeat the Hurricanes in the deciding game. After being shut out 11-0 by Georgia Tech to open the 2002 World Series, Tanner s team fought back. Carolina defeated home state favorite Nebraska 10-8, Georgia Tech, 9-5, and Palmetto State archrival Clemson twice, 12-5 and 10-2, before losing the title game to Texas It was South Carolina s third second place finish in Omaha. The Gamecocks were also runners-up in 1975 under coach Bobby Richardson and in 1977 under coach June Raines. Three of Tanner s players, first baseman Yaron Peters, pitcher Blake Taylor and shortstop Drew Meyer earned All-American honors. Peters was the SEC Player of the Year, and Taylor led the nation in saves with 21. Meyer was a first round pick, the 10th overall choice in 2002 and the third consecutive Gamecock shortstop to be drafted in the first round. South Carolina returned to the College World Series in 2003 and notched one win, an slugfest over fellow SEC member LSU wrapped around a pair of losses to CWS runner-up Stanford. The final record in 2003 was and in the final national polls the Gamecocks were ranked sixth by Collegiate Baseball, seventh by Baseball Weekly and 10th by Baseball America. To get to Omaha a second straight time South Carolina won its fourth SEC Eastern Division championship, a fourth consecutive NCAA regional championship and a second consecutive super regional. The 2003 Gamecocks swept the Atlanta regional tournament hosted by Georgia Tech with a win over East Carolina and two over Stetson and then swept two super regional games against North Carolina at Sarge Frye Field. Two of Tanner s 2003 players, pitcher David Marchbanks and third baseman Brian Buscher, earned All- America recognition. Marchbanks was also SEC Pitcher of the Year and he, Buscher and Landon Powell were named All-SEC. Seven 2003 Gamecocks were drafted and three others signed as free agents. South Carolina made its third straight trip to Omaha in 2004 when the Gamecocks finished with a record and in the process set or tied 20 school records. Four of Tanner s players earned All-America honors in 2004, catcher Landon Powell and pitchers Chad Blackwell, Matt Campbell and Aaron Rawl. Powell and Blackwell also earned All-SEC honors along with Brendan Winn. Six Gamecocks were drafted and signed professional baseball contracts in the 2004 season including Powell and Campbell, who were selected in the first round of the MLB draft, the first time in history that two Carolina players were taken in the first round. 33 25 NCAA Appearances South Carolina had another successful season in 2005 that saw the Gamecocks earn a spot in the NCAA Atlanta Regional. Carolina finished and reached the final game of the NCAA Regional. Senior first baseman Steve Pearce earned All- American honors and was named NCBWA District IV Player of the Year. Junior shortstop Steven Tolleson joined Pearce on the All-SEC team. Pearce, Davy Gregg, Aaron Rawl and Zac McCamie all signed professional baseball contracts at the end of the season. The Gamecocks finished the season ranked 21st by Sports Weekly and 25th by Baseball America. Carolina earned another trip to the postseason in 2006 and won the NCAA Charlottesville Regional before falling one win shy of a trip to Omaha and the College World Series by winning the first game of the NCAA Super Regional in Athens. Despite a young team, Tanner molded together a group that saw four players earn All-SEC honors including first-team outfielder Michael Campbell and second-team honorees Robbie Grinestaff (designated hitter), Reese Havens (shortstop) and Wynn Pelzer (relief pitcher). In addition to freshman Reese Havens earning All-SEC accolades, first baseman Justin Smoak, outfielder Andrew Crisp and starting pitcher Mike Cisco were named to the SEC All-Freshman team. The seven Gamecocks honored were the most players from an individual school to be recognized by the conference coaches in Smoak and Crisp also received national recognition with Freshman All-America honors. Carolina finshed 2006 ranked 12th by Collegiate Baseball as well as 13th by Baseball America and 15th in the Sports Weekly/ABCA coaches poll. South Carolina recorded its eighth consecutive 40-plus win season in 2007 and achieved a ranking as high as No. 1 in the nation during the year. Carolina earned a trip to the postseason and won the NCAA Columbia (S.C.) Regional before falling one win shy of a trip to Omaha and the College World Series by winning one game in the NCAA Super Regional in Chapel Hill. The 2007 team featured two All-America players in first baseman Justin Smoak and designated hitter Phil Disher. Disher would also earn first-team All-SEC honors along with second baseman Travis Jones. Smoak picked up a second-team All-SEC selection along with third baseman James Darnell. Baseball America and the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll ranked South Carolina at No. 10 at the end of the season with the Gamecocks also coming in at No. 11 in Collegiate Baseball s final rankings. South Carolina recorded its ninth consecutive 40-plus win season in 2008 and earned a trip to the postseason and the NCAA Raleigh Regional, where the Gamecocks finished in second place. The 2008 squad featured Smoak and Havens, who along with All-America honors, were selected in the first round of the MLB Draft. Smoak was the 11th overall pick to the Texas Rangers with Havens drafted 22nd overall to the New York Mets. The Gamecocks finished with seven players drafted. Smoak and Havens also earned All-SEC accolades along with third baseman James Darnell and designated hitter Phil Disher. Smoak was a first-team choice with Darnell, Disher and Havens named to the second-team. Before arriving to Columbia as head coach of the Gamecocks, Tanner led his alma mater NC State to seven appearances in the NCAA postseason tournament and ranked second for most wins in school history. He was the 1990 Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year and in 1993 was named Atlantic Region Coach of the Year when his team won 49 games. While he was head coach a NC State for nine seasons, Tanner was affiliated with the Wolfpack baseball program for more than 20 years. He came to the Raleigh campus in the fall of 1976 as a player following an outstanding career at South Johnston High School in Four Oaks, N.C. A four-year starter at shortstop and third base, he earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors his senior season and still ranks among the Wolfpack s all-time leaders in several categories. Following his playing career, Tanner served as an assistant for NC State coach Sam Esposito, overseeing recruiting efforts and coaching third base. When Esposito retired, Tanner moved up at the age of 28, becoming one of the youngest head baseball coaches in the nation. During his tenure as an assistant, the Wolfpack reached the NCAA Tournament twice. He had additional duties as assistant to the athletics director and as assistant athletics director in charge of game operations. Tanner has a Bachelor of Science degree in recreational administration from NC State (1980) and master s of public affairs, public administration (1983). Born Donald Ray Tanner Jr., March 25, 1958 in Smithfield, N.C., Tanner grew up in Benson, N.C. He is married to the former Karen Donald, a native of Charleston, S.C. A University of South Carolina graduate, she was formerly head women s athletic trainer at NC State. During the summer of 1997 she served as trainer for Charlotte in the Women s National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is the former director of athletics and director of sports medicine at Columbia College. They have two daughters, Bridgette Grace ( Gracie ) and Margaret Pearl ( Maggie ) and one son, Joseph Luke ( Luke ).
