1 LOS ANGELES DODGERS (91-39) at Arizona Diamondbacks (74-58) LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (5-6, 3.34) vs. LHP Robbie Ray (10-5, 3.06) Wednesday, August 30, :40 p.m. PT Chase Field Phoenix, AZ Game 131 Road Game 63 (39-23) Night Game 95 (65-29) TV: MLBN/SNLA/SNLA Spanish Radio: AM 570 (Eng.); 1020 AM (Span.); 1540 AM (Kor.) TURN IT AROUND: The Dodgers came up short of another comeback last night, as they dropped the first of the three-game series against the Diamondbacks with a 7-6 loss. Los Angeles lost its third consecutive game for the first time since June 4-6 and have dropped three straight for just the fourth time this season. The Dodgers, who are the only team in the big leagues without a fourgame losing streak this season, will look to avoid losing four in-arow tonight as they play the second game of the three-game set in the desert. After the three-games in Arizona, the Boys in Blue will travel to San Diego for a three-day, four-game weekend series against the Padres with a doubleheader on Saturday. The Dodgers have won 17 of their last 22 games on the road since the All-Star break and hold the second best winning percentage (.629, 39-23) away from home in the NL, trailing just the Nationals (41-24,.631). Los Angeles currently holds a.680 (17-8) winning percentage during the month of August, which is tied for the best in the Majors with the Boston Red Sox. The Dodgers are 8-6 against the Diamondbacks this season, including winning six of their last eight games against the Snakes, and are (.587) at Chase Field since BEST IN THE BIZNESS: Despite the loss, the Dodgers own the best record in baseball with a mark (.700), 11.5 games better than Nationals, and also hold the best record in the NL through 130 games since the 1944 Cardinals (94-36,.723). The Dodgers have won 25 of their last 33 and have gone since June 7, which is the best 70-game stretch in franchise history and the best in the Majors since the 1944 St. Louis Cardinals. Los Angeles +218 run differential is the best in the Major Leagues, 62 runs better than the Astros. The Dodgers had won 40 consecutive games in which they ve scored four or more runs before last night s loss. It was the third longest such streak in MLB history, trailing just the 1954 Indians (42) and 1906 Giants (41) Source: Stats, LLC. RYU CAN DO IT: Dodger left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu will make his 20 th start of the season as he looks to continue his recent success and looks to record his sixth win of the season. Ryu last pitched on Thursday in Pittsburgh, allowing just one run on four hits in 6.0 innings, as he recorded the win in the Dodgers 5-2 victory. The South Korea native has been stellar in his past 10 starts since June 11, going 3-0 with a 2.63 ERA (16 ER/54.2 IP) and striking out 54 batters against 17 walks. During that span, the club has posted a 9-1 record, including winning six straight games, and Ryu has not recorded a loss since June 5. Since the All-Star break, Ryu ranks among Major League starters (min IP) in ERA (1.54, 2 nd ), WHIP (1.06, 14 th ), opponents batting average (.205, 14 th ) and opponents OPS (.547, 4 th ). He last pitched against Arizona on Sept. 6, 2014, where he allowed just two runs on seven hits in 6.2 innings and did not factor in the decision in the Dodgers 5-2 victory. GET WELL SOON, GRANT!: The Dodgers would like to wish a speedy recovery to left-handed reliever Grant Dayton, who underwent left UCL construction surgery (Tommy John) yesterday. The surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles. Dayton, who is in his second season with the Dodgers, appeared in 29 games for Los Angeles this season, going 1-1 with a 4.94 ERA and holding hitters to a.221 average.
