ABOUT SUNDAY The Giants dropped a 5-4 decision to the Cardinals in Game Two of this series on Sunday, as Kolten Wong hit a game-ending home run...it was the first walk-off loss for the Giants in a postseason game since Game Three of the Division Series at Florida on Oct. 3, 3... on Sunday, the Cardinals became the first team in MLB history to homer in each of the last three innings of a postseason game. A FIRST FOR HUDSON RHP Tim Hudson is making his first career start in the National League Championship Series after tossing more than 3, innings in the regular season...according to Stats, Inc., only two other pitchers had amassed more regular season innings before making their first start in this round - Chuck Finley (3,97.) and Juan Marichal (3,7.). MISSING THE LONG BALL The Giants have hit just two home runs this postseason in 7. innings...the Giants have gone 55 plate appearances since their last home run, Brandon Belt's homer in the top of the 8th inning in SF's - win against the Nationals in Game Two of the Division Series... the Giants went 6-6 (.7) during the regular season when they hit at least one home run and 7-48 (.36) when they didn't homer. Batted.375 (3-for-8) with three runs and two doubles in games throughout the postseason. Batted a career-low.54 (49-for-93), with just nine extra base hits (seven Bs) and 5 RBI in 7 games. Started 4 of 6 games ( at 3rd base, at shortstop, at nd and 8 at st) and hit.87 (37x9) as a starter. Led the Giants in PH at-bats (34), however hit just.6 (7x34) in a pinch-hitting role, the lowest average on the team. His 9 games as a defensive sub were tied for the third-most in NL.
