RUN STREAK HALTED IN A BIG WAY--Kansas City s nine-run outburst here last night snapped a streak of 30 consecutive games in which the club was held to five or fewer runs, the longest streak in the American League in one season since the 1972 Texas Rangers went 33 in a row from July 2 (game #2) - August 4...last night was just the fifth win in the last 33 games, with the Royals averaging only 2.3 runs per contest in the 32 leading up to the nine-run explosion...kc also tied its third highest hit total with 15 last night, with all nine members of the starting lineup contributing with at least one knock, while six of the starters had two hits apiece.
