Thus far, Los Angeles is 1-2 on its seven-game homestand and is currently tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks for first place in the National League West. With a victory tonight, Los Angeles will win the season series with Milwaukee for the second straight year. GATORADE SHOWER: Yasmani Grandal s two-run, walk-off homer last night in the 10 th inning was the club s first regular season walk-off home run since the home finale of the 2016 campaign, when Charlie Culberson s blast clinched the division title. The other player to do it was Hall of Famer Roy Campanella, who did so May 27, 1953 vs. the Giants at Ebbets Field. #KERSHAWDAY: The Dodgers tonight will send left-hander Clayton Kershaw to the mound for his 16 th start of the season as he looks to record his fifth victory of the year, following last Friday night s win in Atlanta (7.2 IP, 6 H, R, 8 K). The 7.2 innings was a season high and in 2018, the Dodger ace has a 2.52 ERA (25 ER/89.1 IP), 91 strikeouts against just 17 walks and a.230 opponents batting average. Kershaw has 10 quality starts, including four of his last five. Among hurlers with 10 or more starts this season, the southpaw ranks fourth in the National League in ERA, while his 5.35 strikeout-to-walk ratio ranks fifth and his 1.05 WHIP is tied for fifth best on the Senior Circuit. In 13 career starts against the Brewers, Kershaw has gone 5-5 with a 2.85 ERA (27 ER/85.1 IP). In that time, he has limited Brewers hitters to a.208 average, while striking out 93 against 22 walks and has posted a 1.01 WHIP. Strangely, Kershaw has struggled against the Brewers at Dodger Stadium, going 1-4 with a 5.03 ERA in six starts. Since coming off the disabled list on June 23, Kershaw is 3-1 with a 2.23 ERA (10 ER/40.1 IP) and 38 strikeouts against just six walks in seven starts. He has also limited the opposition to a.227 average and has posted a 0.99 WHIP. The Dodgers are 5-2 in those games. Among all-time starting pitchers with more than 100 games started following the All-Star break since 1933, when the All-Star game was born, Kershaw tops all hurlers in ERA (2.06), while ranking fourth in winning percentage (.703) and fourth in opponents batting average (.207) EASY CALL: On this date in 1981, Dodger Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson became the first baseball player depicted on a United States postal stamp.
