2 Dear Manager, Congratulations to you and your team for attaining the right to compete in the 2018 USA Softball 14U Class A National to be held July 22 nd - July 29 th, Many teams have invested much time and effort, but yours has paid off in a national tournament berth. The entry deadline for the 2018 USA Softball 14U Class A National is July 16, 2018 at 12:00 pm CST. The Warren County Parks and Recreation Department will host the championship games at Michael O. Buchanon Park, 9222 Nashville Road, We are committed to providing a quality tournament and excellent facilities. Our complex contains warm-up areas, restrooms, concession stand, parking areas, picnic areas, and playground. The complex is within a 15-minute drive of area hotels, shopping malls, and restaurants. The information contained in the 2018 USA Softball 14U Class A National Championship Tournament packet should answer most of your questions concerning this year s championship. 4 Registration Information Registration will begin on Saturday July 21 st at 2:00 pm at the Holiday Inn. Registration will continue Sunday July 22 nd at 8:00 am at the Holiday Inn, prior to the Manager s Luncheon at 12:00 pm. Please check the tournament itinerary for dates and times. Coaches must provide the following: o Official Roster o Insurance Liability Form o ACE Certification o Background Check o Team Entry Form signed by State USA Softball Commissioner It is preferred that teams register together with all members present. Players cannot register until the above team information is received. Each player must present a valid PHOTO ID (NO EXCEPTIONS) o Hotel and Team info sheet- (can be found in this packet) *Players MUST be registered before they will be allowed to take the field*

8 Rules and Regulations A. The 2018 USA Softball Code and Rule Book will govern all rules and regulations. B. Dress Code: Uniforms a. Players on a team shall properly wear uniforms that are alike in color, trim and style. b. Coaches must be neatly attired, dressed alike or in team uniform, and in accordance with the color code of the team. C. Team trophies TBA depends on number of teams, in accordance with The USA Softball Code D. Individual Awards TBA awards will depend on number of teams, in accordance with The USA Softball Code E. Format Two (2) pool games followed by a double elimination tournament. a. Games will be scheduled in a pool play format to begin the tournament. Results of the pool play will determine placement of each team in a double-elimination championship bracket. F. Line-up-cards Tournament officials will provide the line-up cards for each team. An official card must be submitted to the scorekeeper at least 15-minutes prior to the game time. G. Game Times Follow the times listed on the official tournament bracket. Teams should be prepared to play immediately after the proceeding game is completed. H. Infield Practice No infield practice will be permitted. Warm-up is allowed in designated areas only. Teams may warm up on the outfield grass if time permits. Teams wishing to practice may reserve a practice field by calling Warren County Parks and Recreation (270) I. Protests The Tournament Committee will decide all protests. As manager, please be familiar with the rules of the game, including proper protest procedures.

9 J. Inclement Weather In the event of inclement weather, the game must be resumed at the exact point where it was suspended in accordance with USA Softball Code. Inclement weather decisions will be made by tournament officials. K. Home Team a coin-toss prior to the start of each game shall determine the home team, no exceptions. This includes the Championship Game. L. Dugouts The team at the top of the bracket will use the first-base dugout. The team at the bottom of the bracket will use the third-base dugout. Unless already occupied. M. Official Game Ball USA Softball Kentucky will provide the official game ball for the tournament. USA Softball Kentucky State Commissioner will approve all softballs. N. Conduct Managers and coaches are asked to be in control of their players both on and off the field as well as their spectators. The Tournament Committee will deal with any report of misconduct, including damage to hotels. O. Souvenirs Souvenirs will be available at the Michael O. Buchanon Park throughout the tournament. P. Coolers Only one team cooler may be brought into the sports complexes (team cooler tag will be provided). Q. Pets Pets are not permitted inside the sports complexes. R. Alcohol - Alcohol is prohibited on the grounds of any USA Softball KY Youth Event. S. Smoking No tobacco products are permitted inside the sports complexes. 10 GATE ADMISSION POLICY Ticket prices at the complex will be charged as posted. Tournament pass prices are as follows: Tournament passes are good for all sessions. Weekend Pass (Monday thru Sunday) are as follows: $60.00 Adults (14-54) $40.00 Children (6-13) FREE Children (5 and Below) $40.00 Senior (55 and Up) $40.00 Military Day ticket prices (Monday thru Sunday) are as follows: $10.00 Adults (14-54) $7.00 Children (6-13) FREE Children (5 and Below) $7.00 Senior (55 and Up) $7.00 Military Team members with player passes will not be charged an admission fee when entering the complex. All players and coaches MUST have passes in order to enter the complex. If they do not have their passes with them they will be asked to pay. The following individuals are classified as team members: All players listed on Official USA Rosters (must present tournament passes) 3 Coaches/Managers (must present tournament passes) Any person leaving (even to the parking lot) must have a tournament pass to re-enter.
