The players are given the pprtunity t develp hand-eye crdinatin and swing techniques withut the cncern f being hit by a pitched ball. In additin, the defensive team is allwed mre pprtunities t develp fundamental fielding skills. Usually starts with hitting frm tee, then may mve t cach pitching. Expect 8-10 games fr the seasn. N scre is kept and the emphasis is n having fun. s bat thrugh the line-up, and we try t get teams ff the field after 3 innings. T-ball is a cmplex and at times slw game, s we encurage the managers t keep it mving. The fcus is n intrducing kids t the sprt, and getting them interested in activities assciated with the game s that they want t cntinue with baseball/sftball next year. Skill psitins such as catcher and pitcher are nt the emphasis. Everybdy shuld play equal time (as much as pssible) and at all the psitins. Expect abut games per seasn. Caches will pitch using a safety ball. Sme kids will use a Tee at the beginning f the seasn then phase t n Tee by the end f the year. Single A is recmmended fr players wh have a basic understanding and prficiency f the game and/r have cmpleted 1 year f T- ball. Fundamentals are a fcal pint at this level as well as getting the kids t swing aggressively at the ball. Caches will fcus n identifying bases and psitins. They will teach t run frm, thrugh and arund bases. Players will learn hw t catch a ball withut drpping, thrw with accuracy and knwledge t where t thrw the ball, field a slwly hit/thrwn grund ball, hw t bat the lineup and understand what an ut is and hw t get it. Skill Gals: Learn the fundamentals f batting with emphasis n prper stance, grip and swing. Learn the fundamentals f hw t hld, aim and thrw a ball. Learn the fundamentals f fielding grund balls with emphasis n prper stance, glve and hand psitin. Learn the fundamentals f catching fly balls with emphasis n mving t the ball lcatin and prper glve and hand psitin. Learn the fundamentals f base running. Learn basic sftball rules and strategy and hw t apply these in ffensive and defensive situatins.
