Heath Slatton (0-1, 16.20) is slated to start on the mound for the Giants tonight. Offensive Outburst The Giants erupted for 11 runs in yesterday s series-opening victory over the Ports. Prior to last night, San Jose was averaging just 3.0 runs per game over their last 10 contests (3-7 record). The 11 runs scored yesterday achieved a new home season-high. Back-To-Back Wins The Giants have won back-to-back games for the first time since defeating Stockton on consecutive nights from April A victory tonight would match San Jose s longest winning streak of the season. The Giants previously won three in a row from April 7-9. Home Cooking Last night began a stretch for the Giants playing 13 out of 17 games at Municipal Stadium. Following the current series against the Ports, San Jose continues their LAST GAME April R H E Stockton San Jose x WP: Connolly (2-2) LP: Meisner (1-4) S: None Dillon Dobson smacked three home runs to lead the Giants to an 11-4 victory over the Stockton Ports on Friday night at Municipal Stadium. Dobson finished 4-for-4 at the plate with four runs scored and five RBI s as San Jose cruised to the series-opening win. He blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the first, hit a solo shot in the sixth and added a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh. Gio Brusa (1-for-3, HR, 3 RBI) also homered for the Giants as part of a three-rbi night at the plate. Mike Connolly earned the win on the mound after tossing a seasonhigh seven innings with two runs (both earned) allowed. Connolly surrendered six hits, walked none and struck out five during his masterful 85-pitch outing. homestand with a three-game set versus first-place Modesto. The Giants then travel to Stockton for four games before returning to Muni for a seven-game homestand against Rancho Cucamonga (three games) and Inland Empire (four games). San Jose enters tonight s contest having played the fewest home games of any team in the league this season (8). Dobson s Historical Night Dillon Dobson became the first player in the 30-year history of the San Jose Giants to hit three home runs in a home game when he accomplished the feat last night. His three homers tied a San Jose Giants single-game record. Adam Witter (August 3, 2007 at Bakersfield) and Hector Sanchez (May 23, 2011 at Stockton) also hit three home runs in a game for the Giants (both on the road). Dobson is the first San Jose player this season to have a multi-homer game. Dobson was playing in just his second game last night since returning from the disabled list. He was activated on Thursday after missing eight games with an elbow injury. Dobson entered Friday with one home run this season in 12 games. Dobson is now tied for third in the California League with four home runs. Familiar Opponent San Jose is in the midst of a stretch (April 13-May 7) playing 13 out of 24 games against Stockton. The Giants are 5-2 versus the Ports this season having taken two of three games from April at Muni and April at Banner Island Ballpark before yesterday s win. San Jose will return to Stockton for a four-game series starting on Thursday. The Long Ball San Jose s 21 home runs through the first 22 games this season rank second in California League (Rancho Cucamonga leads with 24). Individually, Aramis Garcia (4 HR currently on DL), Gio Brusa (4 HR) and Dillon Dobson (4 HR) have been the top home run hitters on the club. Howard Hits Ryan Howard ranks sixth in the California League with a.330 batting average.
