1 game information Friday, August 3 Southwest University Park El Paso, TX THE BABY CAKES The New Orleans Baby Cakes continue a sevengame road trip tonight with the finale of a three-game series against their I-10 archnemisis, the El Paso Chihuahuas. Since winning their first three games at Southwest University Park from June 9-11, 2014, New Orleans has lost each of the last seven, allowing 8.3 per game (58 total). Last night s defeat dropped NOLA nine games under.500 for the first time all season. YESTERDAY S NEWS El Paso scored seven times in the third inning and coasted to an 11-4 victory over the Baby Cakes. Franmil Reyes got El Paso off to a quick start with a three-run homer in the opening frame, and Shane Peterson highlighted the seven-run outburst with his second home run in as many nights. The second of Auston Bousfield s three doubles plated two runs, and Luis Urias brought him home with a triple as part of a 3x5 effort. The Baby Cakes had 10 hits in the game, including a pair of doubles by Eric Campbell and a two-run homer by Austin Dean. Jerry Keel scattered two runs and six hits in 6.0 innings for the win, while loser Dillon Peters was charged with nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits in 2.2 innings. ON THE HILL Zac Gallen is set to make his team-leading 20th start of the season. After needing only seven pitches to retire the side in order in a spotless sixth inning during the Triple-A All-Star Game, Gallen has won three straight since the break, yielding one run and nine hits in 17.2 innings. It marks the second time in his career Gallen has earned wins in three consecutive starts, having done so with AA Springfield from July last year. DEAN OF HITS Austin Dean belted his first home run since June 30 vs. Oklahoma City and notched his 11th multi-rbi game of the season. Dean owns a.331 batting average between AA Jacksonville and NOLA, good for 14th in all of Minor League Baseball. He hit.420 (34x81) in 22 games at Double-A and was named April s Southern League Player of the Month, pacing the circuit in batting average, hits, total bases (53), slugging (.654) and OPS (1.120).
