16 Farm System Major Rule Changes for 2016 Not a new rule, just enhancing implementation We will open up online registration for those interested, no fee. Allows for additional games at a higher level of play for those interested. Your player has the opportunity to get called up from the Farm System. i.e. the division lower than the level needing a player. Applies to Juniors Division and Up. Juniors Division: Lead-offs are allowed! Moving to Pitch Counts vs. # of Innings Pitch counts will be in effect for all levels; including mandatory rest days Clarification: You do NOT need to slide into home plate; You MUST attempt to avoid a collision.
17 Farm System - Highlights Goal: To enable a team to field enough players to play a game without forfeiture while also being competitive. Proposal: In the event a team in the Intermediates & Seniors Division has < 9 players, they may choose to utilize the Farm System from their Division to fill vacancies for up to 2 players. Coach will contact their Commissioner to determine availability. The chosen player/players MUST come from the designated Farm System. The Farm player will wear their normal jersey to the game. The number of players to bring up will be limited to 2 with a maximum of all players on the team not to exceed 10. The Farm System players must abide by the following: They bat last and can only play an outfield position. No pitching or infield play allowed. Game will count as a regular game and all League Rules apply. Number of Play-ups vs. Current number of Players: Players Max # of Play-Ups 9 or > Forfeit * Even though minimum # to field a team is 7, this will only apply if the result can meet both of the proposal goals: no forfeit + being competitive
18 2016 LOYBL Other reminders Player/Coach/Sponsor Alignment: Teams are allowed 1 Head Coach & 2 Asst. Coaches and their corresponding children. After that, we do a blind draft to fill remaining roster. We do not align kids based on convenience (i.e. driving, friends, etc.) We pride ourselves on being a league of integrity. We have a blind draft. This applies to sponsorships as well. We can align your sponsorship to your child but can not align to specific coaches/other kids, unless you are also a coach on that team. Coaching Conduct: Non-sportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Any inappropriate physical/verbal abuse will result in dismissal from game and/or league. Please be aware of the LOYBL Code of Conduct which you acknowledged during registration. Umpires: Our umpires are trained by a veteran in this field for over 20 yrs. But, they are still kids, please refrain from giving them a hard time or influencing their decisions. Please refer to coaching conduct on potential implications. Zero tolerance in this area. Treat them with
19 2016 LOYBL Other cont. What equipment do you need?: Baseball Glove, sized appropriately for your child Cleats are very useful but not required. No metal cleats allowed. Many players already have bats for your use and helps in determining what you may need for your child before a purchase of your own. Legal Bats for 2016 Bat diameter <= 2 ¾ inches in the Clinic and Junior Divisions, Bat diameter <= 2 5/8 inches in the Intermediate Division. All bats must be labeled with a Bat Performance Factor (BPF) of no greater than Bats marked as Tee Ball will be allowed ONLY in the TEE BALL division.
