Colorado won last night's series opener 4-3 after DJ LeMahieu singled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning it was the third time this homestand that the Rockies have won in their last at-bat. Last night's win improved the Rockies record in one-run games to 14-6 (.700), the best record in the Majors per Elias, Colorado has never posted a winning percentage of.600 or better in one-run games in franchise history the Rockies were (.375) in one-run games last season, the worst winning percentage in the National League. The Rockies are in the midst of playing nine consecutive games vs. the National League East; three this past weekend in Washington (2-1), three against the Mets (2-1) and the current three-game series vs. the Phillies at Coors Field (1-0). SHRIMP The Colorado won Thursday's rubber game against the New York Mets 5-4 on a walk-off walk by Nolan Arenado, the Rockies second walk-off win of the series and their fourth of the season. It was the fifth time in franchise history that the Rockies have won on a walk-off walk, the first time since Jamey Carroll drew a walk-off walk on May 5, 2006 vs. Houston. CLUTCH IS REAL Nolan Arenado hit his 25th home run of the season last night, a game-tying home run in the seventh inning. He also recorded both of the Rockies walk-off RBI this week, Tuesday and Thursday he now has three walk-off RBI this season, tied for the Rockies single-season franchise record (also: Dante Bichette in 1996, Jeff Cirillo in 2001). Arenado now has six walk-off RBI in his career, tied for the fourth-most in franchise history (Dante Bichette and Todd Helton lead with nine). He leads the league with 16 game-winning RBI. Arenado is batting a Major League-leading.431 (47-for-109) with runners in scoring position with 13 doubles, three triples and nine home runs, a.853 slugging percentage that ranks third in MLB with runners in scoring position. With runners in scoring position and two outs, Arenado is batting.409 (18-for-44), fifth in the NL, with a Major League-leading 28 RBI. Arenado ranks third in MLB in Win Probability Added (3.60), which credits or debits a player based on how much their action increased or decreased their team's odds of winning. LEADERSHIP Nolan Arenado was named NL Player of the Month for July, his second Player of the Month honor in his career (also: Sept. 2015). Acquired: Selected in First Round (3rd) of 2013 Draft BACK WHERE YOU BELONG The Rockies 2017 Opening Day starter was Colorado s 2013 first-round draft pick out of the University of Oklahoma. Returned to the rotation on June 30 after being put on the 10-day disabled list on April 14 with a broken bone in his left foot. 25-year-old was active on an Opening Day roster for the first time in his career after beginning 2016 on the 15-day disabled list with an abdominal strain.
