LHP Chris Sale, one of three 10-game winners in the major leagues, takes the mound for the White Sox the Sox are 3-4 on the homestand vs. Washington (1-2), Kansas City (1-2) and Detroit (1-1). Following tonight's game and a day off tomorrow, they take a seven-game trip to Cleveland (6/17-19) and Boston (6/20-24). The White Sox went 2-7 on their last trip to Kansas City (0-3), the Mets (2-1) and Detroit (0-3) from 5/26-6/5. TONIGHT'S STORYLINES Chris Sale needs one strikeout to tie Gary Peters for seventh in White Sox history with 1,098 and fi ve to tie John Danks for sixth with 1,102. The White Sox are attempting to win their fi rst series at home since a three-game sweep of Minnesota on 5/6-8 (0-5 since). Chicago has scored 18 runs on 27 hits over the last two games. Sox pitchers own a 8.00 ERA (40 ER/45.0 IP) in fi ve games vs. Detroit this season. Jose Abreu is hitting.405 (17-42) with three home runs, 10 RBI, and seven multihit efforts over his last 10 games. Chicago's average time of game in June is 3:25. ROLLINS RELEASED The White Sox have requested waivers on SS Jimmy Rollins for the purpose of granting his unconditional release. Rollins was designated for assignment by the Sox on 6/10 after signing as a free agent on 2/22. LAST NIGHT'S RECAP Detroit built a 10-2 lead and held on for an 11-8 victory over the White Sox. Miguel Gonzalez suffered the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits and four walks over 3.1 IP. Michael Ynoa threw 2.0 scoreless IP in his major-league debut, giving up no hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Tyler Saladino recorded a career-high four RBI, hitting a tworun single in the fourth inning and a two-run homer (No. 4) in the ninth rookie Tim Anderson hit a pair of doubles, and Adam Eaton, Avisail Garcia and J.B. Shuck collected two hits apiece. LIVE FROM THE K ZONE White Sox broadcasters Jason Benetti and Steve Stone will join fans in the K Zone For Sale in Sections for tonight's game on CSN Chicago. When Sox ace Chris Sale starts, fans with tickets in the K Zone are issued a K Zone For Sale T-shirt and strikeout card. FIRST AND TEN Chris Sale is tied with Jake Arrieta and Stephen Strasburg for the major-league lead with 10 victories Strasburg also starts tonight in search of his 11th win. Sale became the first 10-game winner in the American League on 6/10 vs. Kansas City and the second in the major leagues behind Strasburg, whose start that night began one hour earlier. Prior to Sale, Jon Garland in 2005 was the last White Sox pitcher to accomplish the feat (STATS). TRIPLE THE FUN Adam Eaton hit his sixth triple of the season last night, tying Cincinnati's Jay Bruce for the major-league lead Eaton leads the majors with 25 triples since the start of the 2014 season. RALLY CAPS The White Sox recorded their largest come-from-behind victory in 14 years on Monday vs. Detroit, rallying from a 7-0 defi cit to defeat Detroit, 10-9, in 12 innings. Detroit led, 7-0, before the Sox scored twice in the third, once in the fourth, three times in the fi fth and twice in the ninth to force extra innings and set up their largest comeback win since 6/28/02 vs. the Cubs. LET'S GET DEFENSIVE The White Sox lead the American League and rank third in the majors with a.988 fi elding percentage, up from.983 last season when they ranked 13th in the AL. The Sox have been errorless in 33 of their last 40 games since 5/1, including a franchise-record, 12-game streak from 5/1-14 (433 total chances) and a 10-game streak from 5/ Chicago has turned two triple plays this season (4/22 vs. Texas and 5/17 vs. Houston), the first team to accomplish the feat since Philadelphia in WHITE SOX VS. DETROIT The Tigers lead the season series, 4-1, splitting the fi rst two games of this series after sweeping a three-game set at Comerica Park on 6/3-5 by a 22-9 margin. QUALITY AND QUANTITY The White Sox have made 1,192 quality starts since 2003, second-most in the majors behind the Mets (1,203) the Sox rank third in the American League with 35 quality starts in OUT GOES FRAZIER Todd Frazier is tied for second in the major leagues with 19 home runs, one behind Baltimore's Mark Trumbo, and is on pace to hit 48, which would be one short of the franchise record of 49 set by Albert Belle in Bill Melton (1971) and Dick Allen (1972 and '74) are the only players in White Sox history to lead the American League in homers no Sox player has ever led the majors. HELP WANTED Jose Quintana is the fi rst White Sox pitcher to receive zero or one run of support in six or more consecutive starts since Ross Baumgarten went seven in a row from 6/21-8/24/80 (STATS). Quintana is 0-6 with a 4.15 ERA (18 ER/39.0 IP) over his last six starts, receiving a total of four runs of support, after going 5-1 with a 1.38 ERA (7 ER/45.1 IP) over his fi rst seven (4.73 RSA). SOX TO HOST HUSKIES AND ROCKETS The White Sox have partnered with Illinois Sports Facilities Authority (ISFA), Northern Illinois University and the University of Toledo to offer fans special pre-sale opportunities for the Huskie Chi-Town Showdown football game on 11/9 at U.S. Cellular Field.
