This marks the third time the Cubs and Dodgers meet in the postseason Chicago was swept in the 2008 NLDS, three-games-to-none, before meeting last year s NLCS. Chicago has now reached the NLCS in three-straight years, meeting the Mets there in 2015 (swept, 4-0) and the Dodgers last season (won, 4-2) the Cubs are the first team to reach three-straight NLCS rounds since the St. Louis Cardinals made four-straight appearances from Chicago aims to become the first franchise to repeat as World Series champions since the New York Yankees won three-straight World Series titles from WHO KNEW?: This is the sixth time the Cubs have appeared in the NLCS the team s previous appearances in the NLCS: 1984 vs. San Diego (L, 3-2), 1989 vs. San Francisco (L, 4-1), 2003 vs. Florida (L, 4-3), 2015 vs. New York (L, 4-0) and 2016 vs. Los Angeles (W, 4-2).
