2 (2) 171ST STREET URBAN PARKWAY Project Description: NE 171st Street Urban Parkway is a road diet project consisting of the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of 133rd Avenue NE and NE 171st Street. Work also includes two culvert replacements, hot mix asphalt overlay, planning, signal improvements, illumination, drainage improvements, water main relocation, cement concrete curb and gutter, cement concrete sidewalks, curb ramp replacement, traffic control, pavement markings, signing, landscaping, and irrigation. Project Start Date April 23, 2018 Project Duration mid April 2018 to Spring 2019 Work Hours - 7AM to 7PM Monday through Friday and 9AM to 5PM on Saturday TRAFFIC IMPACTS (Subject to Change) Currently to September 4 th (End of the working day) Traffic Control Setup Eastbound lane(s) on NE 171 st Street are open to thru traffic with periodic stops to accommodate work. Westbound lane(s) on NE 171 st Street are closed to thru traffic. 21 Acres is Open and can be accessed via east or west bound lanes. September 4 th (End of the working day) until project completion DURING CONSTRUCTION HOURS: lanes on NE 171 st Street will be reduced to onelane in each direction along with lane shifts. Most of the time there will be only one lane open (reduced to one-lane only for both directions) with flaggers that will alternate traffic direction for the one lane to accommodate work EXPECT DELAYS. NON-CONSTRUCTION HOURS: Eastbound and Westbound lane(s) will be open to thru traffic. NOTE - IMPACT by 302 STRIKE: Western Washington members of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 302 are on strike. Work will progress a bit slower but there might be potential impacts to the schedule if the strike lasts for an extended period of time. 2
3 (3) SAMMAMISH BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT Project Description: the project will widen SR 202 (NE 175th St.) from the intersection of 131st Avenue NE (MP 0.31) to Woodinville-Redmond Road (MP 0.55). This segment of SR 202 will be widened to 4 lanes by constructing a new two-lane bridge adjacent to the existing bridge. Railing and sidewalk modification are also included for the existing bridge. It will also include installation of bike lanes, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm drainage, traffic signals, railroad signals and gates, street lighting, paving/striping and landscaping. Project Start Date April 18, 2018 Project Duration 200 working days, mid-april 2018 Spring 2019 Work Hours - 7AM to 7PM Monday through Friday and 9AM to 5PM on Saturday Traffic Impacts (Subject to Change) SR202/NE 175th St (TENTATIVE SCHEDULE DUE TO ONGOING UNION STRIKE) September 7-10 th, day weekend closure to place the girders for new bridge. Detour signs will be in place during closure. Detour plans available on City's website and at City Hall o Begins: 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 o Ends: 5:00 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 Sammamish River Trail Closure/Detour as part of the new bridge construction, a portion of the Sammamish River Trail (King County Trail) will be closed. August 20 th Until Further Notice Full closure to place the girders for new bridge. Trail Detour shown in the below map. Closure timing: o Began: 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018 o Ends: Detour In Effect Until Further Notice, Tentatively Scheduled to Open on September 14, 2018 Short Term Closure (throughout the project duration) Short term closures of 5 minutes may be required for public safety during trenching or clearing operation. Short term closures are only permitted during off-peak hours: o Monday Friday - 9 a.m p.m. & 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. 3
