FDOT s standard approach to new intersection capacity analysis Safer than traditional intersections where warranted Fatalities reduced by 90% Injury crashes reduced by 76% Pedestrian/vehicle conflict points reduced (next slides) Supports local goal of speed control Used in both urban and rural situations

19 Next steps Meet with Brevard EEL Selection and Management Committee SCTPO and Brevard County Commissioners: obtain support for alternatives and application to FDEP ARC FDEP ARC: complete information package and submit for coordination Disc Golf Park: prepare request for Management Plan modifications to allow use of linear facilities and related appurtenances on the Trust Project Site After ARC / FCT approval: update/develop documents for Public Hearing Finalize State Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) Approval by FDOT 19

20 What are we requesting from the Town? Resolution of support from the Town Council for the recommended alternatives and provision of maintenance of the paved multi-use trail Town of Malabar support is important to both Brevard EEL Science Committee, Board of County Commissioners, TPO, and FDEP Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) approval to gain approval to use MSS property
