2 Complete Streets City Commission adopted a Complete Streets policy in 2012 Complete Streets are road networks that are designed for all users: pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders and motorists for all ages and abilities to move safely. Features: Sidewalks both sides of streets Bike Lanes/Shared-use paths Wide Shoulders Bus Shelters Bulb-outs Traffic Calming Devices Raised Crosswalks Signage Landscaping Medians Narrow Vehicle Lanes

3 Complete Streets Principles & Applications Design and construction should include Complete Streets Elements as feasibility and funding allows Capital Improvement Projects Land Development / Privately funded improvements Corridor Plans and KDOT projects Maintaining Scope / Budget / Fiscal Responsibility Balancing right-of-way / topography / adjacent land uses Context Sensitive: Who is using the street? Complete Streets doesn t mean all every street has every feature.
