1 Glenshee Winter Games Bairns Races February 27 th & 28 th 2016 Final Acceptance Bulletin 23/02/2016 The Glenshee Winter Games forms part of the Scottish Alpine Series FEBRUARY The forecast is fair we are on. Race piste still tbc. Attached is the Final Acceptance list. 76 entries were received by the closing date. Please note that the lists are day specific. if you think you have been missed. Race Format: Age Categories: competent on uplift) Bairns GS on Saturday & Combi on Sunday All Categories U8, U10 & U12 (all racers must be experienced on snow and be Entry: There are still some entry fees not confirmed (listed on the mass ). These will need to be confirmed as paid before a bib is issued. Cancellation: No refunds will be given if a competitor withdraws from the event AFTER this Acceptance List has been published. In the event of the races being cancelled due to unfavourable conditions, the organisers will try to reschedule an alternative date. Any competitor

2 unable to attend will have the entry fee refunded. If a revised date is not possible, we will endeavour to provide full refunds, but this may not always be possible e.g. abandonment/cancellation at short notice will incur significant cost to the organisers. Race Schedule: 08:30 09:15 Registration/bib collection Base Café 09:30 10:00 Course Inspection Run 1 10:15 Start Run 1. Remaining run timings advised on the day Medal ceremony in Cairnwell Café Previous Winners: Trophies MUST be returned - it s not fair on the next winner to not receive a trophy! If you haven t already returned last year s trophy, you will only get a bib at registration in return for the trophy! Officials Meeting: 08:30 in the Base Café. Gate Judges briefing will take place immediately afterwards. Course Team to meet by the groomer beside the Badoch Chairlift by 08:00 at the latest Uplift: Lift passes are NOT included in the race entry fee. Racers using the priority lift queue lanes must clearly display their race bibs. Course Inspection: The method of course inspection will be from the top down unless advised otherwise. Bibs must be worn with the numbers clearly displayed. Competitors must not ski the prepared course through the gates sideslipping and ploughing only. Bairns MUST have suitable coach support to ensure compliance. Equipment & Safety: All equipment must comply with the current BCR s which can easily be found on Skis must be fitted with operational ski brakes. There may also be a focus on racers helmets, so you should make yourself aware of the guidance note. Please ensure there are no camera mounts and/or stickers attached! Race suits are NOT advised for Bairns don t let your children freeze! First Aid: Provided by Glenshee Ski Patrol Unsportsmanlike Behaviour: In the event of unsporting behaviour, all race officials have been reminded that sanctions may be applied if rules are contravened. Please be aware that this could ultimately lead to the sanction of Suspension from events (ICR ). Disqualifications & Protest: Disqualifications will be posted on the official noticeboard following the Jury meeting after each race run. Racers will have 15 minutes from the time of posting to protest against any disqualification. Each protest should be made to a member of the jury Medals: Medals will be awarded to the 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd racers in both male and female categories for each age group. All prize winners are requested to show courtesy by attending the prizegiving. Catering: Hot drinks and food will be available for purchase from the Cairnwell Café at the bottom of the race piste, and the Base Cafe. Packed lunches should not be eaten inside either café.

3 Officials: These events cannot run without sufficient volunteers to help both on and off the hill. If you are able to assist, please provide details on entry form, or contact Duncan Shepherd or Andy Lakin for more details. A separate will go out to those already volunteered to confirm roles. Photographs: There may be photographers at the event (Racer Ready etc.). You must make it known to the organisers if you do not consent to you or your child being photographed.
