TRB AHB65 OPERATIONAL EFFECTS OF GEOMETRICS TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH BOARD COMMITTEE
AHB65 Committee Scope and Objectives O The AHB65 committee is concerned with highway geometric design as related to traffic operations and safety. The committee seeks to: O Improve the body of knowledge and understanding of the safety and operational effects of highway geometrics and the state of the art of tools for quantifying those effects, and O Facilitate the application of the best available knowledge, understanding, and tools in practice.
AHB65 Subcommittees Technical O Freeway O High Speed Roadways O Low to Moderate Speed Roadways O Intersections (joint) O Performance-Based Design O Traffic Speed and Safety (joint)
AHB65 Subcommittees O Research O Paper Awards Activity O Urban Street Symposium (joint) O International Symposium on Highway Geometric Design (joint)
TRB Geometric Design Committee (AFB10) C OMMITTEE S COPE AND S TRUCTURE
Scope This committee focuses on expanding knowledge regarding highway h and street geometric design elements that affect safe and efficient operations for all users and contexts. The committee develops research needs statements and communicates findings that advance design criteria, guidance, methods, and performance-based roadway design objectives. The committee facilitates domestic and international dialogues and idea exchanges between researchers and practitioners while supporting emerging and developing professionals.
