16 Results of sustainable mobility measures the pedestrian surfaces were increased by 620 % by closing the city centre for all motorized vehicles ( m 2 ) the renovated Slovenska street: reduced concentrations of black carbon by 70 % after changed traffic regime, while the concentrations on other surrounding streets have not increased; there has been a trend of reducing NOX and PM10 in recent years green areas more than 80 ha of new green surfaces; 542 m 2 public green areas per capita 4 Kavalir electric vehicles that operate free of charge in the city centre: approx. 1 mio satisfied passengers since 2008 the self-service bikesharing system Bicike(LJ): 3,6 million rides since May 2011 and increase of cycling share from 10 % to 13 % ( ) improved public transport 17 % more city bus users since 2011, 34 % increase of journeys on regional buses : Urbana card, 68 CNG buses (33 %), extended bus lines to LUR, P+R facilities, yellow bus lanes, real time information (displays, route planner), increased safety

17 Satisfaction with the green development European survey on qualty of life Eurobarometer and Eurostat 2015: 92 % of residents of Ljubljana is very satisfied or satisfied with the quality of life in Ljubljana info point at Slovenska Street (before refurbishment): more than 90 % positive opinions about refurbishment of the area tourism: almost 20 % increase in overnight stays on yearly basis CIVITAS Elan project survey (2012): the majority of residents in the city centre supported the renovated public space, the radical motor traffic restrictions, the noise reductions and cleaner air actions, and they accepted the introduced measures; in the survey the approval rate was highest among shop and restaurant owners in the pedestrian zone, namely, as high as 72 % Revival of local economy: Networking of the shop keepers special joint promo activities invite people to shop in the refurbished city centre = more visitors better economy
