1 Long Island Bike Challenge Route Maps Below are the route maps, by geographic section from the start in Wantagh to the finish in East Hampton. The rides from Medford and Westhampton follow the same route. Mandatory Requirements for Participation Helmets (US CPSC-approved) must be worn riding. Headphones, ipods and radios are not permitted while riding. Obey all traffic laws. Bicycles, sharing roads with cars are subject to the same traffic laws as cars unless otherwise directed by law enforcement. The Long Island Bike Challenge is a charity bike ride not a race, the purpose is to raise money for advanced medical research to prevent diseases like melanoma and cancer. Key detail: The ride starts at the east end of the LIRR parking lot in Wantagh. Proceeds east to the Bethpage bike path. Be alert for a left turn onto the bike path. Park here- LIRR Key detail: Ride the bike path to Central Ave exit ramp. Bike Path approximately 4 miles to Central Ave. exit

2 Key detail: At end of exit ramp left onto Central ave./merrits road, be alert to bear left onto Quaker Meeting House road. Then bear left downhill onto Round Swamp Road. Pass by golf courses. Right onto Winding and right at Spagnoli Rd. Left at Route 110. Baylis road to left into parking lot. Go thru office building parking lot to traffic light. At light go straight onto old east neck rd. Key detail: Follow Half Hollow Rd crossing over LIE, route 495. Proceed 2.5 miles then recross LIE. Turn left onto to rejoin east 495 Service Road. Right onto Carlls St Path, left on Dix Hwy.

3 Key detail: Right onto Commack Rd. immediate left into Pilgrim State roadway. Right at 1st stop sign, right at 3 rd stop sign. 1/10 of mile road goes left; follow this roadway past traffic light to water stop at brentwood park on the right. Mile 21. Key detail: right leaving water stop, left at light, right onto LIE service rd. approximately 3 miles to Lincoln Blvd right turn. Key detail: Lincoln to left on Motor Pkwy immediate right onto Hawthorne Ave to left onto Suffolk Ave (county route 100) continue straight passing intersection with Veterans Highway to bear right onto Johnson Ave

4 Key detail: Section follows Suffolk County bike route, pass by Ronkonkoma train station. After train station follow route to right onto Union Ave. Key detail: Bike route continues onto Long Island Ave. Medford is second LIBC water stop at route 112. Parking available at LIRR station, Medford, Mile 40. Water Stop AT Tom & Sons Auto Service Center in Medford 100K - 62 mile ride starts here starts here Park at LIRR parking lot. Key detail: LI Ave. to left onto East Patchogue/Yaphank rd. Under LIE overpass, 1 st right turn, 1 st left turn onto County road 21, right at stop sign, cross back over LIE.

5 Key detail: After LIE crossover bear left onto Morcihes-Middle Island Rd. Cross William Floyd Pkwy, go approx. 1 mile to left onto North street. Key detail: North St. becomes South St. to right onto Chapman Blvd, first left onto Clancy Rd. Key detail: Clancy becomes Head of the Neck Rd. Right onto County route 55, straight under the route 27 overpass to left onto Montauk highway east.

6 Key detail: Montauk highway bear right onto South Country Rd, left on Apaucuck Point Rd, right onto South Rd, left on Oneck Lane to Waterstop Waterstop Key detail: Oneck Lane- right turn onto Montauk Highway, right turn at Beach Road continue onto Beach Lane to Dune Rd. Start of 40 mile ride and waterstop for other rides. Riders starting here should park your car ½ mile north of waterstop on Oneck Lane at LIRR parking lot. Then bike to start. Key detail: From Beach Lane 1 mile south to bridge. Left onto Dune Rd., east to Hampton Bays bridge. Approximately 6 miles.

7 Key detail: Follow road after crossing bridge to Lynn Ave. to Canoe Place Rd., (look for sign to 27A east) to right onto Montauk Highway east. To Southampton water stop at Tidewater pub, mile 77. Key detail: right turn to leave water stop, right turn onto Halsey Neck Rd., left onto Meadow Lane, right onto Dune Rd., changes name to Gin Lane. Key detail: Gin Lane becomes Old Town rd. to right onto Wickapogue Ave. to right onto Flying Point Rd.

8 Key detail: Flying point to Left onto Cobb Rd. then bear right to Little Cobb Rd., to merge onto Montauk Hwy Route 27, (Watermill) then immediate right onto Halsey follow road around back out to route 27 east Halsey Lane Key detail: East on route 27, approximately 1 mile to right turn onto Mecox Rd. (The Milk Pail is just before Mecox on your left) Follow Mecox rd. around to left onto Ocean Ave. to right turn onto Bridge Lane. Key detail: Bridge Lane to left on Sagg Main St. to immediate bear right bear right and then a right turn on gibson lane to to left onto Daniels Lane to left onto Town Line Rd then right on Wainscott Main Street.

9 Key detail: Wainscott Main St. to bear left at Sayres path then immediate bear right onto Wainscott Stone Rd. to Right onto Montauk Hwy,Route 27 East. Approximately 1 mile to right turn onto Georgica Rd. to left turn onto Baiting Hollow Rd. Key detail: Baiting Hollow proceed straight across Montauk hwy, Route 27, at traffic light. EXXon Gas station at light on Route 27. Becomes Toilsome Lane make third right onto Meadow Way. Finish at School on Left. Miles 40 to 100!! You did it!!
