Supporting licensed outlets: POS Kit This year we are looking at activating: BOGOF POS: 5500 kits Generic POS: 2500 kits

Above the line media Radio and digital audio will target drivers across the nation, downweighted in London where travel by car is less likely Dates: w/c 27 th Nov w/c 25 th Dec 7

PR Digital Pub Finder We will host a map on Coke Zone with a search function, enabling consumers to look for the closest pub to their place by entering their postcode/city

And a comprehensive trade press plan Celebrate 10 years of Coca- Cola s Designated Driver scheme Drive recruitment of licensees to request their kit and free product from CCEP s Customer Hub (aim to get more independent licensees signed up to the scheme than last year)

DEAD SLOW SCOTLAND 146 reports of road incidents involving horses in past 6 years. 2 Rider fatalities 50 Riders injured 10 Horse deaths 43 Horses injured 80% of these incidents were because vehicles passed too fast or too close to the horse.

DEAD SLOW Educating drivers how to pass horses safely. Influencing driver behaviour when they see a horse on the road.

DEAD SLOW Safer Drivers Safer Riders Safer Horses

SAFER DRIVERS Slow Down to a maximum 15mph. Be patient, don t sound your horn or rev your engine Pass the horse wide and slow (at least a cars width) Drive slowly away.

SAFER DRIVERS

SAFER DRIVERS Horses have to use the roads given the choice riders would never use the roads. They will be riding from one multi user track to another multi user track, or from their stable to or from a multi user track.

SAFER DRIVERS There are 3 brains working the rider, the driver, the horse Horses are flight animals Working to a risk assessment which is thousands of years old Remove Reduce Avoid Accept

SAFER DRIVERS Even the best trained horse can react to something on its nearside: paper blowing in the wind, a bird, any sudden movement.

SAFER DRIVERS

SAFER DRIVERS Horses can move very quickly. They weigh up to ¾ tonne. They will cause serious damage to your vehicle.

SAFER DRIVERS Rule 215 Highway Code Be particularly careful of horse riders and horse drawn carriages when overtaking. Always pass wide and slowly. Horse riders are often children, so take extra care. Remember riders may ride in double file when escorting a young or inexperienced horse or rider. Look out for riders signals and heed a request to slow down or stop. Take great care and treat all horses as a potential hazard.

SAFER DRIVERS Rule 162 Highway Code Before overtaking you should make sure the road is sufficiently clear ahead there is a suitable gap in front of the road user you plan to overtake. Rule 163 Highway Code Give motorcyclists, cyclists and horse riders at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car

SAFER DRIVERS Slow Down to a maximum 15mph. Be patient, don t sound your horn or rev your engine Pass the horse wide and slow (at least a cars width) Drive slowly away.

Road Safety in Scotland Beyond 2020 Brendan Rooney Road Safety Policy Unit

Ideas Co-Production What works on the ground? Feedback What have we learned from collective experience? How do we face coming challenges together?

How We Live, Work and Shop Which Wider Societal Issues Are At Play?

Role of Technology Developments in this are moving at breakneck speed. What s here and just around the corner: Autonomous vehicles Intelligent speed adaptation Alcohol or drug ignition locks What role does industry play and how does government and the public sector influence that space? How do we best harness the potential?

State-of-the-Art Doesn t Mean Risk-Free What are the dangers and pitfalls associated with technological advances and how can we mitigate? What are the ramifications if things go wrong?

Which Issues Remain Relevant What are the New Elements? Priority areas from mid-term review of 2020 Framework: speed, motorcyclists; pre-drivers, drivers aged and older drivers; pedestrians and cyclists. Transport Scotland beginning work on the foundations, consisting of: Research to review the effectiveness of the existing framework A review of recent and emerging road safety frameworks from other nations to look at emerging trends and good practice to be learned from Future target setting: Length of any future framework or strategy what s feasible: 2025, 2030, 2035?

Contextual Backdrop Behaviour Change what further can be done and how should messages be refined? Is speeding a societal norm? What can be learned from shifts on issues such as smoking and healthy eating? Legislation how radical will governments want to be? Little indication UK Government sees fit to devolve more than Scotland Act Most laws on road traffic offences, licensing and other regulation around road safety reserved. What does Brexit mean for road safety in Scotland and the UK? Will EuroNCAP, EuroRAP and other EU standards be diminished? Continued Ministerial priority. National Indicator: Deaths on Scotland's Roads. How do we as road safety partners best utilise our skills, expertise and resources to keep people safe on Scotland s roads.
