1 CAPE TOWN CYCLE TOUR 2015 The safe and efficient transportation of your bicycle to and from Cape Town is of the utmost importance to British Airways (operated by Comair). As always, we will ensure that your bicycle receives the same high quality care that customers have become accustom to when flying with us. Cape Town Cycle Tour bicycle transport procedures Race Day: 8 March 2015 The procedures below will ensure that your bicycle gets to Cape Town and back safely. Please read through the procedures carefully. Feel free to call the British Airways (operated by Comair) Contact Centre on 0860 I FLY BA ( ) or should you have any queries or concerns. The Handling Fee for your bicycle will cost R300 per bicycle including VAT, per one way flight. The Handling Fee excludes all packaging. The Handling Fees must be paid prior to dropping off your bicycle at the respective drop off areas and prior to your flight departure. To make payment for your bicycle, please call the British Airways Contact Centre on 0860 I FLY BA ( ) or and select option 1. A Handling Fee receipt will be sent to you via , unless otherwise stated by the Contact Centre Agent. This receipt must be presented when dropping off your bicycle. Please ensure that you keep your receipt for your return flight as the same process will apply in Cape Town. 2 Important information for all riders In order for us to accept your bicycle, please produce your flight booking confirmation, the Handling Fee receipt and proof of identity (passport, ID or driver s license). We recommend that you place your bicycle on your private insurance. When collecting your bicycle from the applicable area, please note that your bicycle will not be released to family members or friends as they will not be in possession of the Handling Fee receipt and your proof of identity. We will make every effort to have your bicycle in Cape Town before you, or on the same flight as you, but this is not always possible due to the amount of bicycles that need to be transported and the space restrictions on our aircraft. Due to the large volume of bicycles we need to get back from Cape Town to the various destinations, your bicycle might not be on the same flight back as you. Please allow 2-3 days for us to get your bicycle to its destination. Please call the relevant station to ensure your bicycle is there before you collect. How to pack your bicycle In order to ensure your bicycle is delivered in perfect condition, please take special note of the following packing procedures: Seat must be put down Handlebars must be turned parallel to the frame The front wheel must be attached Pedals must be removed or turned inward Deflate the tyres (please do not inflate with nitrogen as they will not be accepted for carriage on the flight) Your bicycle must be placed in a bicycle bag or box, or must be wrapped in bubble wrap Bicycle inflation pumps filled with division 2.2 Carbon Dioxide non-flammable gas will be accepted for transportation as checked baggage only. The maximum amount per customer is limited to four 16 grams cartridges. Cartridges larger than 16 grams will not be permitted for carriage. 3 Remove any speedometers or any electronic equipment and carry it on you or in your hand luggage Wheel bags cannot be carried as hand luggage and need to be checked in as checked baggage. The standard checked baggage allowance will apply. Should an Extra Baggage Fee need to be applied, you can either pay R245 online or R350 at the airport. Visit ba.com for details regarding our baggage policy Spare wheels need to be packed properly before check in. At Check In, the spare wheels will be tagged with a limited release tag DROP OFF PROCEDURE AT KING SHAKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Bicycles will be accepted for drop off from 24 February until 06 March All bicycles must be dropped off at the BidAir Cargo Terminal. Please keep this safe as you need to present this upon collecting your bicycle in Cape Town. 4 COLLECTION PROCEDURE AT CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Please take note that bicycles will be delivered to Cape Town between 24 February and 07 March Collecting your bicycle between 24 February and 2 March 2015: Should you wish to collect your bicycle within the abovementioned dates, please collect your bicycle from BidAir Cargo. For maps and directions, please contact the British Airways Contact Centre on 0860 I FLY BA ( ) or Collection hours at BidAir Cargo: Mondays Saturdays: 08h00 20h00 Sundays: 08h00-18h00 Collecting your bicycle between 3 March and 7 March 2015: Should you wish to collect your bicycle within the abovementioned dates, please collect it from the Multi-storey Parkade 1 at Cape Town International Airport. Visible British Airways signage will be up to indicate where you can collect your bicycle. All bicycles that have not been collected from BidAir Cargo before 2 March will be at this collection point. Collection hours at the Multi-storey Parkade 1: Tuesday Saturday: 08h00 20h00 You will need your proof of identity and waybill or limited release tag for collection Bicycles will only be released to customers with a waybill or a limited release tag as this will identify the bicycle. Bicycles cannot be collected by friends or family Contact for any enquiries on collections. No reservation enquiries can be processed through this number. Page 4 of 8

5 DROP OFF PROCEDURE AT CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Bicycles need to be dropped off between 8 March and 11 March Please deliver your bicycle to the Multi-storey Parkade 1 at Cape Town International Airport. Visible British Airways signage will be up to indicate where to drop your bicycle off. You will need the following in order for us to accept your bicycle: The Handling Fee receipt Confirmation of flight booking Valid ID, Passport or Drivers Licence You will need to complete a waybill or you will receive a limited release tag when dropping off your bicycle. Please keep this safe as you need to present this upon collecting your bicycle at your destination. Drop off hours: Sunday to Wednesday: 08h00-20h00 Contact for any drop off queries. No reservation enquiries can be processed through this number. COLLECTION PROCEDURE AT OR TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Please allow us 2-3 days for bicycles to be returned from Cape Town before collection. We recommend that you contact BidAir Cargo, before collecting your bicycle to ensure it has arrived. You will need your proof of identity and waybill for collection The only bicycles going to the terminals will be the customers transferring or connecting on an international flight Please collect your bicycle by 19 March 2015 to avoid being charged a storage fee Bicycles will only be released to customers with a waybill as this will identify your bicycle. 7 From N2 Map and Directions to BidAir Cargo Cape Town Take the AIRPORT APPROACH turnoff (Exit 16) off the N2 Follow the road towards the airport Keep in the FAR RIGHT HAND LANE You will run parallel to the BP garage You will come to a small traffic circle drive as if you going straight over it You will drive over three speed humps Follow the road for +/- 1 KM We are the fifth turning to right hand side You will see security booms in front of you We are straight in front of the security booms Page 7 of 8
