Having ridden the Tour, Allan will provide you with unparalleled insight into this world class event. Along the way we will stay in beautiful 4* star accommodation and limit our transfers to just two lodgings. Ensuring you spend more time on the bike and sightseeing and less time packing your suitcase. 2 DAY$1$$$$$$$ WELCOME$TO$ LE$TOUR $ $$$$$$$$$ $ $$$$$$$ Today you will be collected from Annecy Train Station or Geneva International Airport (as pre-arranged) and take you to our stunning lakeside Auberge on the picturesque waters of Lake Annecy. With the town only as short walk on the bike path, the dramatic mountains provide the most stunning backdrop to the start of your holiday. For those that would prefer to arrive a day or two to take advantage of exploring what is considered one of the prettiest towns in France, we can arrange additional accommodation or simply meet you at the hotel today. Once checked in we will be available to help you set up your bike or introduce you to your hire bike. Depending on how you feel, we will go for a ride to stretch out the legs and check your bike is in perfect working order. Those who want to ease into the week can choose a gentler ride along the river or perhaps you re ready to tackle your first Col right at our doorstep. Late afternoon, wander the streets of old town taking in many of the famous sights. This evening we enjoy a sumptuous 4 course welcome dinner with a real highlight of our hotel being the superb acclaimed restaurant, on par with any Michelin Star venue and views to match. 3 $DAY$2$ $ PROS$REST$/$WE$$$$$$$$$$$$ $ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$(Stay$Annecy) We stay local today with a couple of ride options, and for those who are ready a gentle col to start us off. Some of you may prefer to spend the day off the bike and make the most of the wonders that Annecy and the lake has to offer..take a paddle boat or even one with a little more horse power for a trial on the water. The PROs arrive today in preparation for an action packed day of riding in the Alps, the first mountains for the Tour. So later this afternoon, for those who want a sneak peak, we will head into the old town and track down some riders. 4 $$DAY$3$$ STAGE$START$AND$CLIMB$TO$THE$TOP$OF$THE$WORLD$ $$$$$$$$$$ $ $ $ $ $ $$$$$$$$ An exciting day as today s stage rolls right past our accommodation. After another fantastic breakfast, we head into Annecy to chat to the riders and see how the teams prepare before waving them off. Our ride will begin after their gun goes off and we promise this will be a day to remember both for riders and spectators. A truly unique col, quiet and breathtaking it is well worth the challenge. 5 $$$DAY$4$$ CHEESE$AND$MOUNTAINS$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$ $ We begin our ride after breakfast and head to the beautiful mountain village of Beaufort. For those who want a shorter ride, we will stop here and take in the festivities. Famous for cheese named after the village, Beaufort will be full of atmosphere today.and we can guarantee the bakery is a must see or more a must taste. Those wanting a little extra, we will make our way up towards the final climb of the day but not head all the way up. Instead take time to watch the riders make their way to the summit of the days third of four climbs, the Cormet de Roselend. Once the race passes, we make our way to our next destination and unwind in our fabulous city centre hotel in Grenoble where you have the night free to explore the many restaurants. 6 $$$DAY$5$$ CRAZY$ALPE$D HUEZ$ $ $ $ Today, as with every Alpe d Huez stage finish, promises to be an action pack, frenetic, chaotic, unforgettable day. Those wanting a full day on the bike can ride from the hotel where we make our way with many others all the way to the famous climb. Being based on the climb, you will have front row seats to watch the action unfold and cheer on your favourite riders and team. Maybe even get into the frivolities at Dutch Corner. A crazy and truly memorable day for all, both on and off the bike, it promises to be a lot of fun. A long day, we will unwind over a well-earned dinner. 7 $$$DAY$6$$ FANTASTIC$FINISHES$$ $ We bid farewell to Le Tour in the best way, by watching them finish an action packed stage. The pretty town of Valence in the Drome will be our final destination on bikes today. We will drive directly to the finish then take in one last spectacular ride in the surrounding mountains. Those not wishing to ride can spend the day in this Valence, rich in history dating back to the 5 th century and the Roman occupation. When there, we get the chance to meander through the team busses with Allan Davis, who will introduce you to many of the riders and also their valuable support crew, who make the Pro Tour tick along like a well-oiled chain. There is a fabulous buzz in the air as the Caravan comes into town and it will be your final opportunity to stock up on 2018 Tour memorabilia. We will provide any assistance disassembling and packing your bike or remove your pedals, garmin etc from your hire bike We will provide all the assistance you need in checking into the airport or provide advice and support for you onward holiday plans in Europe. Our travel partner can also assist with all pre and post tour logistics for you so please ask if you would like further information.
