3 2017 Coyotes Cycling and 5K Breakaway Challenge Sunday 11/05/2017 SPECIFIC REGULATIONS + ARTICLE 1: ORGANIZATION The 2017 Arizona Coyotes Cycling and 5K Breakaway Challenge is organized by SWSportsReg.com / La Roue d Or, LLC for the benefit of the Arizona Coyotes Ice Hockey Team, and thanks to the support of all our sponsors and volunteers. This fundraising event is taking place on Sunday 11/05/17. Athletes will Start and Finish near the Gila River Arena, in Glendale, AZ. The proceeds generated from this event will be donated to the Arizona Coyotes Foundation. Questions about participation, rules, sponsorship, and volunteers should be sent to the event organizer: Boris Decourt Phone: SWSportsReg.com@gmail.com + ARTICLE 2: TYPE OF EVENT The event is a combination of road bicycle fun rides and a 5 Km running race: - Cycling Breakaway Challenge = 15 / 40 / 64 Miles Road Bicycle Fun Rides - 5K Breakaway Challenge = 5 Km Run - Howler s kids & family fun run = 1 Km Run around the Gila River Arena + ARTICLE 3: PARTICIPATION & REGISTRATION This event is open to any participant who is in physical shape and trained enough to complete before 1:00 PM the distance they register for. Note however that the 2017 event is capped as follows: - Cycling Breakaway Challenge = 350 participants - 5K Breakaway Challenge = 200 participants - Howler s kids & family fun run = no limit Registration for the 2017 AZ Coyotes Cycling and 5K Breakaway Challenge is entirely managed online by SWSportsReg.com. Online registration will remain open until Sunday, 11/05/17, 7:00 AM (yes, one can register online Saturday night or Sunday morning before driving to the venue). To enter the event, participants need to pay an entry fee. 4 Athlete Package Includes: The unique opportunity to ride or run the inaugural AZ Coyotes Cycling and 5K Breakaway Challenge; For bicycle rides and 5 Km run participants only (not included in Howler s Run entry): One ticket to attend a Coyotes game (limited to one of the following games: Saturday 11/04 Coyotes vs. Carolina Hurricanes; Saturday 11/11 Coyotes vs. Winnipeg Jets; Saturday 11/25 Coyotes vs. Vegas Golden Knights). You will receive a coupon code and website link in your registration confirmation to select which AZ Coyotes game you want to attend; The 64 miles fun ride goes on scenic roads around the Gila River Valley; Personalized racing number with athletes name for those who register prior to Friday 11/03/17; Professional electronic timing and results provided by CEP timing; Finisher award given by the AZ Coyotes Cheerleaders for those who complete the courses in the allotted time; Enthusiastic volunteers! Without them this event could not be possible! More items may be included at the discretion of the organizer. + ARTICLE 4: RACE HEADQUARTERS & RACE NUMBERS The race headquarters will be located near the Start/Finish line at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, and managed by SWSportsReg.com. On Sunday 11/05/17, race headquarters will open at 6:00 AM and close 15 minutes after the last finisher crosses the Finish line. Participants will pick up their race numbers at the locations indicated below. Each participant must sign an event release form (can be done electronically during online registration). Participants will receive one number per discipline entered. Place your racing number on the back of your jersey (bicycle fun rides see image below) or front of your body (trail run), else we can t identify you at the finish. Electronic timing chips will be distributed Sunday 11/05 between 6:00 and 7:00 AM. PACKET PICK UP Location: East side of the Gila River Arena (6770 N Sunrise Blvd, Glendale, AZ 85305) - Pre-Race Pick Up: Saturday, November 04, 2017 (registration available, but all managed online via SWSportsReg.com) 3:00-7:00 PM - Race Day: Sunday, November 05, 2017 (day of registration available, but managed online via SWSportsReg.com) Bicycle fun rides and 5 Km run = 6:00-7:00 AM Howler s kids & family fun run = 8:00-10:50 AM - Notes: 1. 5 2. NO refunds or Rain Checks, however athletes are able to transfer their entry to another athlete for FREE by contacting SWSportsReg.com until Thursday 11/02/17, 9:00 PM (AZ Time). 3. The Coyotes Cycling and 5K Breakaway Challenge will be held rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, natural disaster, etc. that could endanger participants and volunteers, the event may be shortened, postponed, or canceled without refund. We strongly advise you to pick up your packet on Saturday 11/04 since the time window on Sunday morning is narrow and none of us need last minute stress! + ARTICLE 5: MATERIAL & NEUTRAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT Participants of the bicycle fun rides may use any type of bicycle they want provided they are equipped with one braking system for each wheel. Time trial bar extensions are permitted, but should not be used in the middle of large groups. However, Elliptigo cycles are not allowed (since they don t have a saddle and their small wheels they don t qualify as bicycles for insurance purposes). >>> HELMETS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES WHEN ON YOUR BIKE <<< The organizer has no neutral technical support planned for the participants. Thus, participants are strongly encouraged to carry their own spare equipment during the bicycle fun rides (tubes, tires, CO 2 cartridges, pump, etc). + ARTICLE 6: FEEDING ZONES / REST AREAS A total of three (3) feed zones equipped at least with water supply and energy bars are placed strategically along the cycling courses. Please see the maps below for exact location. + ARTICLE 7: FINISHING TIME LIMITS Per requirement from the Cities the event is visiting, all participants must be back to the Finish by 1:00 PM. All participants behind this time limit will be stopped and scored as Did Not Finish (DNF). Bicycle fun ride athletes who decide to stop on their own and not completing the distance must inform the scorers at the finish line as soon as possible, and will be recorded as DNF. + ARTICLE 8: SCORING Results for each Men and Women divisions listed in Article 9 below will be posted near the finish by CEP Timing. Within a few hours, all results will be posted on SWSportsReg.com (Results link in the top right corner). Participants will be given up to 15 min after their finish time is posted to protest the results. Past the 15 minutes protest period, the organizer will carry out the award ceremonies (at 11:30 AM). In case of issues involving places with podiums, participants who lodge their protest after the 15 minutes period will forfeit the podium place(s) they were eligible for. + ARTICLE 9: PRIZES The event organizer will offer the prizes listed below. In case of low participation, the organizer reserves the right to lower or substitute the prize lists to amounts matching the number of participants. Page 5

All finishers will be scored in our AZ Fun Ride Series (details at > Trail Run Prizes All participants completing the distance will receive a finisher medallion. In addition: - the top 3 Men will have a podium presentation. - the top 3 Women will have a podium presentation. > Howler s Kids & Family Fun Run Prizes All participants completing the distance will receive a finisher medallion. + ARTICLE 10: ANTIDOPING At any time USADA (US Anti-Doping Agency) may be present at the event and select participants for controls. As agreed upon when signing the event release form, all participants who pick up their race number, that they start and finish the event or not, may be selected for a control. Participants who are selected for a control but do not present themselves to USADA may be considered in violation of USADA regulations and be sanctioned to a level USADA sees fit. + ARTICLE 11: AWARD CEREMONIES Around 11:00 AM, the organizer will hold award ceremonies. All participants will receive a finisher medallion for completing the event they entered. In addition, the top 3 in each division will be asked to attend the award ceremony (see Article 9 for details). + ARTICLE 12: PENALTIES The organizer, eventually after consulting with the scorers and volunteers, may decide to impose time penalties and other sanctions (up to disqualification) as deemed necessary. + ARTICLE 13: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION >>> Sanitation No public Urination.
