Texas's famed hill cuntry features a buclic, rumpled terrain marked by wded canyns cut by spring-fed rivers, laced with endless miles f appealing tw-lane blacktp. And best f all, it's quirky. Our hme base is Fredericksburg, Texas, a histric twn f German heritage lcated in Gillespie Cunty, knwn fr its wineries and labeled ne f the Suth s best small twns. The area s relatively mild winters, rlling hills, and quiet cuntry rads make it a perfect spt t build sme enjyable base miles, while dzens f lcal wineries, friendly eateries, and a vibrant dwntwn music scene make the twn a fun base fr ur cycling camp. Plus it prvides plenty f things t d fr yur nn-riding spuse r partner! Our missin is t give yu the pprtunity t explre this area at yur desired pace with ur talented caching team leading the way and helping yu with everything frm cycling skills t lcal histry. Our caches are all USAC certified and experienced guides with years f experience. We try t keep a 1-5 rati f caches t athletes in rder t ffer a safe and persnal riding/turing experience. Our caching team is made up f sme f the best caches in the USA, with tremendus experience and training knwledge; many are current r frmer prs with lts f stries t tell. Yu ll be staying in the award-winning Fredericksburg Inn and Suites, lcated right n Main Street, which means yu ll have an easy walk t all the dwntwn fun while enjying the luxurius seclusin f this beautiful prperty. We put ur best effrts int planning and rganizing ur camp rides. Yu ll chse yur selected ride pace each day frm ne f tw grups, each with cach leaders. Mst days we ffer pre-ride skills and drills fr anyne interested. Each night we ll send ut the next day s ride plan and map and ask yu t sign up fr yur selected ride pace grup; we d this every night because we knw yur chice can change daily depending n yur preferences and fatigue. At least ne f ur caches will accmpany yur ride grup and will wrk t keep everyne riding smthly and efficiently at yur preselected pace. We ll ffer advice as we ride and enfrce safe riding practices thrughut the day. During the rides, we ll enjy shrt breaks t grab cffee and snacks, refill drinks, and regrup. We try t be back at hme base each day by 2:00-3:00 p.m. t give yu time t either attend sme educatinal prgrams r get ut and enjy the small-twn atmsphere. 3 LODGING Yu ll enjy a tranquil asis in the heart f Texas Hill Cuntry at the Fredericksburg Inn & Suites, lcated n five beautiful acres alngside Barns Creek. The spacius accmmdatins and sparkling utdr pls create the perfect base fr a week f riding. Situated just ne blck frm Main Street, the scenic inn is mments away frm the city s best restaurants, shps, and art galleries, while the secluded prperty feels like a wrld unt itself. All ldging includes free wireless Internet, 32-inch TVs, cffeemakers, mini refrigeratrs, micrwaves, large czy beds, and a cmplimentary full breakfast. When yu re nt riding, yu can unwind by the fireplace under the pen-air stne gazeb, barbecue a hmemade meal in the scenic picnic area, take a dip in the versized ht tub, r cl ff with a swim in ne f the luxurius pls. TRANSPORTATION We ffer grup pickup and drp ff at Austin-Bergstrm Internatinal Airprt fr a rund-trip fee f $39, at the fllwing times: Grup Pickup: 3:00 p.m. CST n Sunday, January 7 Grup Drp-ff: 1:00 p.m. CST n Saturday, January 13 If yu re planning t use yur afternns t see the sights and enjy the area, we suggest renting a car frm the airprt. There is ample parking at the htel and plenty t d and see in the Fredericksburg area; we think yu ll find it a wrthwhile investment. TRAVEL As sn as yu bk yur travel, please send us yur itinerary s that we can make sure t have everything ready fr yu. If yu d like t arrive a day r tw early r stay a few days later, we are happy t bk yur rm and give yu ur camp cst fr these extra days. We ll just bill yu ur grup rate fr whatever extra nights yu chse.

4 SCHEDULE Each day we ll meet at 9:00 a.m. We will d pre-ride drills fr thse interested, brief yu n the day s ride, and leave at 9:30 a.m. Each day we ll return t the htel arund 2:00-3:00 p.m., thugh please nte this may vary depending n rides. In the afternns, we ll have a variety f cycling presentatins in the cnference rm, such as pwer discussins, nutritin tpics, and mre. Please remember that all rides are subject t change based n traffic, events, and weather. Yur safety and best interests are ur tp pririty! Time Activity Nte 7:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. Breakfast at htel 9:30 a.m. 9:45 a.m. Rider meeting Skills and/r rute review 9:45 a.m. 2:00 p.m. Ride as per schedule 2 grups 2:00 p.m. 3:30 p.m. Lunch n yur wn In twn r at htel. Gather sme friends and grab lunch! Fredericksburg is a cl twn and area; spend the afternn visiting sme sights. 3:30 p.m. 5:00 p.m. Cach sessins There will be three days f training educatin and tw days f ne-n-ne meetings with ur caches. Schedules will be psted. These sessins are nt mandatry. 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Dinner n yur wn We ll prvide restaurant recmmendatins and sightseeing suggestins.

5 EQUIPMENT YOUR BIKE If yu are brining yur bike, please make sure t prepare it carefully fr travel; it s a great idea t break dwn yur bike the week befre camp and cnduct a thrugh verhaul. Once at camp, ur team will make sure yur bike is clean and in great wrking rder each day. Yu ll get the full pr treatment. Bring yur bike in gd shape, and we ll keep it clean, lubed, and running great each day! SHIPPING YOUR BIKE If yu wuld like t ship yur bike, the htel will receive and hld it fr yu. BIKE GEARING They dn t call it Hill Cuntry fr nthing! That being said, there is really n special gearing needed here. Depending n yur climbing ability, we suggest either a 39x28 r a 36x28 (r similar) as yur climbing gear. WHEELS This is spring training. Yu ll d sme majr climbs and sme very lng switchback descents, s expect t be n the brakes. We recmmend sturdy aluminum training wheels with fresh brake pads. Chse the wheels that will keep yu n the rad and safe! POWERTAP DEMO Our camps are spnsred by PwerTap, and all campers can buy any PwerTap prduct at a 20% discunt, including wheels. If yu buy a set f wheels, yu can get them set up and installed at camp! TIRES We recmmend that yu use a slid training tire instead f lightweight rubber. We ll be n numerus back rads thrughut the week, sme f which can be a little rugh. 6 WEATHER The average daytime temperature in Fredericksburg in January is F, and the average nighttime temperature is 34 F, s cme prepared with an assrtment f layers.
