2 About Us Boulder B-cycle is a community nonprofit (501c3) formed in May 2011 to implement, own and operate a public bikesharing system in Boulder. The system currently comprises 22 stations & 150 bikes.

14 Chuck Strawser, University of Wisconsin Pedestrian & Bicycle Transportation Planner I don t have empirical data on how B-cycle is affecting use of campus bike racks... but anecdotally I can tell you that I have heard from several people who used to store a bike for infrequent use in one of our bike cages, or at one of our standard bike racks, but now use B-cycles instead. In fact, one department on campus who requested departmental bikes from us earlier this summer has decided that they would rather provide their staff and volunteers with B-cycle passes than to store and maintain a dept bike... It just makes more sense to them there s more than one bike available to them at a time, and they don t have worry about theft, winter storage, or maintenance.

15 CU Transportation Master Plan Bike and pedestrian facilities need to be upgraded to accommodate the larger numbers of bicyclists and pedestrians and to address the missing links in the system. (page 4-11) Bike sharing, bike stations, bike parking, and incentive programs have been effective and popular at CU it should further assess the potential SOV reductions it may be able to achieve through expansion of these programs. (page 4-11) As CU Boulder continues to expand, nonmotorized facilities must be included in the development of East Campus as well as Main Campus. (page 5-5)
