WEHO to go A guide to exploring West Hollywood car-free, on foot, on bike, or on transit
WEHO to go See you on the streets!
Produced by the City of West Hollywood Long Range and Mobility Planning Division Designed by Colleen Corcoran, Joseph Prichard, and Tiffanie Tran Whether you live or work in West Hollywood, or are visiting, there are many ways to explore our city without a car. By foot, by bike, or by bus, navigating WeHo on the go has never been easier. Run into friends and meet new ones. Enjoy fresh air on a beautiful day (yes, the weather is always beautiful here)! See places you never noticed before, and get some exercise along the way. You may never have to search for parking again, and fewer car trips will bring us one step closer to cleaner air. We hope you agree, car-free WeHo is the way to go! WEHO.ORG/CARFREEWEHO
Go by FOOT One of the perks of living in WeHo is how walkable the City is. Designated by WalkScore.com as the most walkable City in California, residents often live within a short stroll of cafes, shops, restaurants and culture. With great weather year-round and excellent people-watching, walking is the best option for getting around WeHo. No need to worry about parking hassles or fighting traffic. #CARFREEWEHO USEFUL APPS FIELD TRIP is an app that gives you information about places around you as you walk by. MAP MY WALK is a fitness-tracking app that enables you to use the built-in GPS of your mobile device to track all of your fitness activities.

WHERE TO RIDE Where there is no bike lane available, it is legal to bike on the sidewalk in West Hollywood or in the City of Los Angeles. However, this should only be done with courtesy and care. If you feel unsafe biking on the street and need to ride on the sidewalk, follow these precautions: 1. Only ride on sidewalks when no bike lane is available. 2. Ride slowly and yield to pedestrians. Use a bike bell to alert them when passing. 3. Be careful near driveways, and watch for drivers pulling out into the street, who do not expect to see bicyclists on the sidewalk.
Go by BIKE WeHo has bike lanes on many major streets. For a more leisurely ride, consider taking smaller residential streets like Willoughby or Sweetzer which are ideally suited for bicycles, and check out new neighborhoods along the way. WeHo bike racks can be found throughout the City. #CARFREEWEHO LOCKING YOUR BIKE Lock your frame with a high quality U-lock. If you have quick-release wheels, be sure to use a chain to lock them too. USEFUL APPS MAP MY RIDE is an app to help you plan and map your bike route.
BIKE SHOPS Whether you need a new or rental bike, or a quick repair, here are bike shops in the WeHo area that can help you out. BIKES AND HIKES LA 8743 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood, CA MAGELSSEN SYKKEL 7709 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood, CA I. MARTIN BICYCLES HELEN S CYCLES BEVERLY 8330 Beverly Blvd Los Angeles, CA SPOKES N STUFF 7777 Melrose Ave Los Angeles, CA *Look out for bike share, coming soon!
Go by BUS WeHo has local and Rapid Metro buses on most of its boulevards, perfect for short and long bus trips, whether you need to catch a ride for a few blocks or all the way to Downtown LA. #CARFREEWEHO TYPES OF SERVICE METRO LOCAL serves all of LA County and has many convenient buses that run through WeHo. METRO RAPID are lines with 700 names that make fewer stops (usually large red buses). CITYLINE is West Hollywood s local bus service, connecting residential neighborhoods to commercial destinations. A new route from WeHo to Hollywood/Highland is coming soon! DASH is the LADOT s local bus, which runs near the southern edge of WeHo, to the Beverly Center and the Grove. THE PICKUP is West Hollywood s nighttime ride that runs along Santa Monica Blvd Friday and Saturday evenings, an alternative to driving between nightlife hot spots on the weekend. METRO RED LINE is a subway line that runs through Hollywood, just north-east of WeHo, with a station at Hollywood and Highland.
KNOW WHEN THE BUS IS COMING & PLAN YOUR TRIP TRANSIT is great for arrival times and route maps. NEXTBUS gives arrival times of buses near you in one click. GO METRO is the one-stop app for trip planning for LA County Metro s system. BRING YOUR BIKE ON THE BUS 4 EASY STEPS to put your bike on a Metro bus. SQUEEZE LOWER LOAD SECURE EXIT THE BUS IN FRONT, and be sure to tell the driver you need to retrieve your bike so the bus doesn t drive away. Diagram courtesy of LA County Metro Apps can be a helpful way to navigate the City. However, they are not always accurate, and the City of West Hollywood does not officially endorse the apps mentioned in this guide.
