2 April Crime Report 2018 PURPOSE: The purpose of this report is to provide an analysis of Coeur d Alene crime for the month of April Information provided: Compstat Report for calendar month and year to date. Month-to-Month Comparison Maps Part 1 Crimes (Compstat Crimes) by calendar month. Compstat Monthly Map for calendar month. Month-to-Month Comparison Field Interviews Monthly & YTD Accident Map DATA SOURCE: The information used for this analysis was Summit / Spillman data compiled using CrimeView Mapping / Analysis and Crystal Report / Excel Statistical Charts. 3 CompStat: Part 1 Crimes Offense Normal Range for April Part 1 Crimes - Monthly Analysis Aggravated Assaults 38% Decrease: Incident breakdown Two domestics and three incidents where the victim/suspect knew each. Dispositions: Three closed by arrest and two cases in which the victims are uncooperative. April 2018 Auto Burglaries by District Rape Decrease One arrest was made and three cases remain actively under investigation Auto Burglary 15% Decrease: See maps for details on locations. No suspects were identified Non-Residential Burglary Increase: Incident breakdown Attempted entry into a day care (screen cut); Entry into a shed near a residence (suspect arrested); Stolen credit card used at a retail store; Items taken from a storage unit. Residential Burglary Large Decrease: Incident breakdown Vacant home entered (suspect arrested); Ex-girlfriend entered residence and took numerous items; Unknown entry into a garage, ammunition taken. Theft 22% Increase: 32% of the incidents were shoplifting related. The remaining were thefts from buildings open to the general public or where the suspects had legal access to. A total of 8 cases were closed by arrest or citation. Vehicle Theft Large Increase: Eleven vehicles were reported stolen. Three vehicles remain stolen. Recovered Vehicles: CDA (6); Hayden (1); Montana (1). Three possible suspects have been identified in four of the incidents reported.
