American Cancer Sciety walk/runs are an pprtunity fr the cmmunity t cme tgether, get active and raise awareness and funds fr cancer research and patient services. Each year ur walk/runs are held thrughut Wiscnsin t celebrate thse wh have battled cancer, educate the cmmunity abut ways t reduce the risk, and empwer cmmunities t jin the fight. The Sle Burner Madisn is ne f Wiscnsin's largest annual 5k Walk/Run held at Warner Park in Madisn. The event gathers tgether mre than 600 participants wh fundraise mre than $60,000 fr the fight against cancer. Cmpanies and individuals are encuraged t participate in either a timed 5K run, r a self-timed walk. This family friendly event includes kids activities and a nncmpetitive 1 mile Kid s Fun Run. Resurce grups can participate as an individual, frm a team and fundraise fr the American Cancer Sciety, vlunteer n event day, jin the event cmmittee r bring yur family n race day t jin in n the fun. We want t give all the survivrs and caregivers in the cmmunity ur supprt, prvide hpe, and shw them hw we are fighting back! Seek ut peple with different backgrunds and talents t widen yur circle f dnrs, cnnectins, and fundraising ideas. Prmte participatin amng yur team, and place each team member in a specific rle. Suggest each persn sets a $100 gal. HAVE FUN!!! FUNDRIASING TIPS ASK! The number ne reasn peple dn t dnate is simply because they were never asked. Use the Sle Burner website. When yu sign up nline, yu will have access t a variety f fundraising tls under the tab My Fundraising. Use scial media. Link yur team page t yur Facebk page. Dress Dwn Day: Ask every emplyee t cntribute t yur team; in return they will be allwed t dress casual n a specified day at wrk. Parking Space Giveaway: Cllect dnatins t win prime parking. Yu can als ffer this as a prize fr the team member wh raises the mst mney during a specific length f time r verall. Cutest Baby Cntest: Gather emplyee baby pictures, have dnatins jars setup as vtes. Awareness Bracelets: Set a minimum dnatin and sell awareness bracelets. $10 a bracelet t 10 peple =$100 (ACS can prvide yu with bracelets while supplies last) Matching: Ask yur HR Department if yur cmpany matches gifts.
