The sharks, con men, snake oil sales websites will all attempt to prey on your vulnerability; in order to tell you exactly what you want to hear.

2 As they want you to buy their products rather than help you to actually fight this dreaded hair loss trait via appropriate proven treatments. I am here to inform you of what you need to hear. I want you to learn from my mistakes and enable you to gain insight and knowledge quickly and accurately so you can make an informed decision as to what is potentially the right course of action for you, whatever that may be. Hair loss can be incredibly emotional as it isolates you and makes you go deep within yourself. You feel alienated from your friends and family as you feel violated and isolated, unable to openly discuss what s happening to you. Suddenly your trapped in your own hidden world trust me, I know! Even though I have met and interacted with 10,000s of hair loss suffers over a 10 year period, outside the world of hair loss only my wife mother and sister know I have had any issue with my hair. I have kept it a secret too. I understand how you feel! What you are feeling however is normal. It doesn t matter what stage of hair loss you are at, it s all relative to you and can make you feel very anxious, downtrodden and alone. Here is some basic streamline information for you to start building basic understanding on hair loss, the reasons behind it and how best prevent it, fast and effectively. Hair loss: Lets start with a few facts! Firstly, I can t stress enough, there is no miracle cure or quick fix. Getting educated with accurate information will save you, time, energy, and money! Hair loss effects many men and its important you understand its not about vanity, its about self esteem and confidence being stripped from you. It s devastating! The hair loss industry preys on that vulnerability and tries to sell you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear! This can lead you to make hasty decisions due to your insecurity and vulnerability which can often cause more harm than good.

5 However, empowered with information you can fight this. There are treatments to help fight the cause, DHT. DHT causes hair follicles to shrink and die MPB is hereditary, however it s a genetic lottery. You re not alone, as there are millions experiencing the same feelings as yourself. No one should have self esteem and confidence stripped from them, so it s vital you get informed and hair loss to prevent making many classic mistakes. Hair loss generally occurs in stages, hopefully you are only at the start so with accurate info you can treat it and stop it fast, before it progresses further. Prevention is key, as hair loss is progressive, it will only get worse if not addressed and stopped. The most effect way and proven way to address hair loss is via appropriate treatments. There are numerous bogus treatments out there. Be careful! Only 3 proven medications that effectively top and in many cases regrow hair. The big 3 is the most appropriate way to attack MPB and I will give you information on these and where best source them. DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) is an active metabolite of the testosterone hormone that is formed in the adrenal gland, hair follicles, prostate glands and testes. DHT is a naturally occurring hormone, but in genetically predisposed people, DHT can bind to the hair follicle and cause hair loss by deteriorating the follicle. Once the follicle is damaged too much, it cannot repair itself and ultimately dies, unable to produce further hair. Understanding the role of the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in MPB is an important step to finding the right treatment for you. Products that prevent those hormones are often called DHT Blockers. These I will discuss below. Before we take a look at the successful medications out there; here s a visual reality check of the journey I ve taken. 7 The BIG 3 The big 3 to beat DHT, THE CAUSE OF HAIRLOSS! - Propecia (Finasteride), Minoxidil and Nizoral Here is the thing you need to make sure you understand when it comes to MPB: The main known factor that causes hair loss is DHT. To form DHT your body's 5a-reductase enzyme converts free roaming testosterone DHT inside the hair cell follicle. The DHT then binds to the hair cell receptor and causes it to atrophy or shrink. Eventually your hair follicle stops producing hair and you lose that follicle. There are two types of the 5ar enzyme; Type I and Type II. Type II 5ar seems to be the main culprit in MPB as the type II enzyme is present in the hair follicles. Finasteride is a specific inhibitor of Type II 5ar inhibitor that reduces DHT produced by the type II 5ar by 85%-90% and reduces the overall DHT blood serum levels by 65%.

8 As you can see Finasteride (PROPECIA) is extremely useful as a treatment for MPB as it directly attacks the problem. Nizoral shampoo is thought to help "dull" the androgen receptors in the scalp which the DHT binds to. Together they provide a synergetic effect. Minoxidil is a hair stimulant. It is the only FDA proven hair stimulant on the market. However stimulating hair and protecting hair from further damage are two separate actions Minoxidil will artificially augment your hair while you use the compound but it does NOT have any know effect on 5ar or the androgen receptors in the scalp. The best way to attack MPB is to: 1. Stop further damage to your hair via DHT. You can accomplish this best by using Finasteride to inhibit the 5ar enzyme and Nizoral to "dull" the androgen receptors. 2. **If** further thickening/regrowth is needed after the hair damaging DHT androgen is reduced then minoxidil can be used to further augment your existing hairs and perhaps even stimulant some dormant hair follicles to resume growing. Use all these 3 products together - 1. Minoxidil 2 x a day - once in the am and once in the pm2. Finesteride (propecia/proscar) 1mg per day3. 9 Propecia: Propecia is 1mg (Finesteride) and costs 40 a months supply!! EXPENSIVE! Proscar is 5mg (Finesteride) Cutting Proscar into 5ths gives you Propecia Propecia /Proscar is the best proven way to prevent further loss. If for some reason your not a responder there s Dutasteride/Avodart which is more powerful but I recommend you start off with Propecia/proscar and see how you respond. Dutasteride and finasteride (PROPECIA) are both 5-alpha-reductase (5AR) inhibitors. Both treatments work by inhibiting 5AR, the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is the primary androgen in the prostate. It is a primary factor in the development and progression of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and other prostate diseases and is also a major cause of hair loss. 0.5mg - 2.5mg of Dutasteride provides better results in hair maintenance/regrowth as opposed to Finasteride However, the benefit likely comes from its higher inhibition of type II 5ar not its suppression of type I 5ar. Merck tested a specific type I 5ar inhibitor called "MK386" in a human trial and found it had no effect on balding. Jumping on the Dutasteride bandwagon before the Finasteride bandwagon is not a good idea. For most men Finasteride is enough to halt and even reverse MPB. In the off-chance your body becomes tolerant of Finasteride (over the years) you always have Dutasteride to fall back on... Side-effects on Dutasteride may be more common, any such sides would last longer as the half-life of Dutasteride is much longer then Finasteride, and

10 unlike type II 5ar type I 5ar *is* present in brain tissue. Finally, keep in mind that DHT is not an evil androgen that just causes hair loss. Various bodily functions benefit from DHT. Finasteride inhibits 65% overall DHT levels leaving 35% for your body to use (most of that 35% is from the type I 5ar that isn't a big factor in hair loss). Dutasteride inhibits 90% or more overall DHT levels leaving 10% or less for your body... Groups of individuals have discovered that Nizoral (when used regularly) is a very useful alopecia treatment, once again it would appear that the role of a substance for the treatment of hair-loss is stumbled upon accidentally! Nizoral contains a chemical called ketoconazole, it is known that when ketoconazole is ingested orally that it inhibits the binding of androgens to

11 receptors in the body and this would include the binding of DHT to hair-follicle receptors. Furthermore positive results with Nizoral shampoo are often noted within a few weeks, whereas a pure anti-dht affect may take a few months. It is therefore likely that Nizoral exhibits another method to its anti-hair-loss effect. One such theory of Nizorals anti-alopecia effects may be on its activity upon sebum. Sebum is a fatty substance that accumulates in the scalp around the hair follicles. It is possible that the removal of sebum may help "unclog" the hair follicle and expose it to more nutrition from an improved blood supply, rather like unclogging a drain! It is known that Nizoral can remove and reduce sebum deposits. Once you feel you have stabilized your loss and confident you have halted the process then you can possibly look into hair restoration to build upon that foundation via hair transplantation but only then. Hair transplantation is a personal choice and one that requires months of research to find the right ethical surgeon for you and your individual requirements. The KEY point to leave you with on this initial report is: Create stability and a solid platform via the treatments, which are right for you to stop hair loss progressing; as it is progressive it will not just stop on its own accord. Maintaining what you have via treatments is possible. You need

12 to act fast via appropriate means in order to catch the process as early as possibly. Each hair counts! You may well respond well to the treatments, you may not,as it all depends where YOU are at in the process and how aggressive DHT is in YOUR body. We all respond differently. What these treatments will enable you to do is actively block DHT which in turn will help your hair to some degree depending on where you are at in the hair loss process and these alone hopefully will enable you to reach your on goal with your hair if you catch it early. Make sure you give the meds sufficient time in order to work and benefit you. Re-growth can take anything from 3-12 months to truly assess the REAL benefits. I recommend you take pictures in controlled conditions to truly see the benefits over time to compare. After 10 years BY taking these treatments I have maintained and improved my situation in the mid/crown region this is where these treatments are most effective. Key is maintenance!
