2 BACKGROUND HOST SITE PROPOSAL This document features a comprehensive proposal outlining the host site proposal of the USA Boxing Junior Olympic National Championships. USA Boxing is looking to build a relationship with a Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to host this event and future events of this kind. ABOUT USA BOXING What began as combat between Greek and Roman empires somewhere in the neighborhood of 4000 BC has evolved into one of the most popular sports in the history of modern sport, practiced in nearly every country throughout the world. Since becoming an organized sport in 1888, Olympic-style or amateur boxing has enjoyed a rich tradition of excellence in the United States. The sport has provided competitive opportunities for hundreds and thousands of young men and now young women. When Olympic-style boxing was organized as one of the first sports in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), the sport's popularity was mainly limited to the United States. In the early years, amateur boxing's rules were based primarily on professional boxing's regulations. The popularity of Olympic-style's boxing has spread worldwide since that time and has developed its own identity and rules independent of pro boxing. The International Amateur Boxing Association was formed in 1946, creating an international body for amateur boxing. Throughout the sport's development process, the United States has been a world leader among nations in creating competitive opportunities, enhancing the sport's image and making amateur boxing safer for all of its participants. The sport first gained Olympic inclusion in 1904 and since that time, United States boxers have won 106 Olympic medals: 47 gold, 23 silver and 36 bronze in men s boxing. EVENT OPERATIONS/MANAGEMENT USA Boxing will provide complete management of all tournament operations and staffing. USA Boxing will utilize USA Boxing Event Staff, National Tournament Staff, Certified Officials and Local Boxing Club volunteers in the area, to staff and manage operations of the tournament listed within this proposal. EVENT MARKETING All USA Boxing events listed within this proposal will be marketed throughout the United States by USA Boxing in coordination with the LOC. USA Boxing will use its media outlets to promote the event explicitly. It will be featured on USA Boxing s website, usaboxing.org, and press releases will be published once the event is announced and leading up to the event date. Event coverage will include live event streaming through WatchMeSports.com, multiple written articles, live blogging, social network updates, as well as, advertisements and articles in USA Boxing membership publications (circulation: 30,000). USA Boxing will need the LOC to promote the event locally to increase event exposure. USA Boxing will work with the LOC to provide athlete information and possible athlete appearances prior to the event to increase exposure.

3 EVENT INFORMATION EVENT BACKGROUND The Junior Olympic National Championships is where it all starts for the stars of the boxing circuit. This mass-participation event has seen much success. The champions of each weight class represent Team USA at the Junior and Youth World Championships depending on the year of competition. On average athletes compete annually along with numerous coaches, officials, team managers, and others to facilitate the overall success of the event. Most of the current athletes competing in the Junior Olympic National Championships will attempt to qualify for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team. The junior program is instrumental in helping our future stars develop the skills needed to become future Olympians. EVENT ECONOMIC IMPACT Number of Athletes: 200 Number of Coaches/Officials: 150 Number of USA Boxing/Tournament Staff/Officials: 40 Number of Spectators: Competition Days: 4 Total Event Nights: 6

4 REQUIREMENTS EVENT DATES USA Boxing and the LOC will work together to set the event date. Preferred timeframe is in the months of June and July. HOST SITE FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS The total required for each year of the three-year contractual agreement Event Bid Fee - $30,000 or ability to financially support USA Boxing with the following items: 1. All logistic costs of the event including but not limited to: Venue requirements (requirements outlined below) 2. All accommodation costs for the event staff including but not limited to: Hotel accommodations for all USA Boxing Event staff, tournament staff and officials Maximum 40 individuals, double occupancy Three meals per day for all USA Boxing Event staff, tournament staff and officials Ground Transportation for all USA Boxing Event staff, tournament staff and officials Airport to Hotel, Hotel to Venue 3. Event awards (weight class awards, outstanding boxers, outstanding officials) 4. Site Visit (if needed) travel expenses: airfare and (1) night hotel for (1) USA Boxing Representative HOST SITE VENUE REQUIREMENTS The host site venue must consist of the following elements in order to be considered: Sufficient floor space for two to three 24x24 foot boxing rings, including set-up and take-down of rings, and appropriate floor space for event staff and media Necessary locker/dressing rooms, warm-up area, gloving table and officials rest area, ringside VIP seating area Ring announcer AV equipment Copy Machines On-site security each day Venue training facility EMT support and personnel for two to three rings to start at least 45 minutes prior to the start of competition through the end of competition each day. Booth space for USA Boxing and sponsors to sell equipment and merchandise Meeting rooms available daily including one to fit people and one for Hardline internet connection, at a minimum speed of 2mgb upload, to stream the entire event through usaboxing.org and watchmesports.com. Wireless internet for media and staff use throughout the event. This internet source should be separate from the hardline. BID PROPOSAL SUMISSION DEADLINE USA Boxing Events would like to receive expressed written consent confirming interest as soon as possible.

5 BID PROPOSAL PROPOSAL BID QUESTIONS The following are the items that should be included with your bid proposal. Please submit your bid proposal following the format below. 1. Introduction a. Please include information as to why the event should be hosted by your organization including qualities that make your site unique. b. Describe other events supported by your organization which demonstrate your ability to successfully host this event. c. State any current amateur boxing affiliations you have or Local Boxing Clubs you are aware of within a 120 mile radius. d. How would you attempt to get the community to embrace the event? 3.
