3 Cultural Day Camps CREATIVE MORNINGS Ages 3 1 / 2 to 5* Every morning, children become little creators, discovering artistic forms through playful workshops combining visual arts, creative dance and music. Workshop themes change every week, making it even more fun. Children must be able to go to the bathroom on their own. APPRENTICE COOK CAMP Ages 6 to 12 Children learn how to make healthy and delicious food for the whole family. From healthy snacks to comfort food, they develop culinary skills that give them confidence and independence in the kitchen. Environmental awareness is encouraged. Lunch is included; bring a nut-free snack. All food allergies must be reported to the Cultural Centre at least two weeks before camp begins. 4 LITTLE SCIENTISTS CAMP Ages 6 to 12 Through lively and interactive experiments and activities, children discover how science influences our lives and the world we live in. 5 STOP MOTION ANIMATION CAMP Ages 8 to 12 Kids create their own animated films! Young filmmakers will discover various techniques used to make animated films. Drawing directly on 35 mm film and using cut-out animation and stop-motion, they develop their own stories as they create and animate characters. With Erik H. Goulet DATES SCHEDULE COST and non-resident July 31 to August 4 $148 COMPUTER ANIMATION CAMP Ages 8 to 12 Kids discover the wonderful world of computer animation with Autodesk s professional Softimage program. They learn to handle a 3D environment, create models, apply colours, and animate their creation. With Erik H. A short performance will be presented to parents at the end of each week. Maximum 10 children per group. Children are divided by age group. 6 Sports and Recreational Camps These camps provide all kinds of exciting and recreational activities. Each week has a specific theme. Daycare is offered both before and after camp activities. There are camps for children from kindergarten to 6 th grade. Activities take place, according to the following schedule: Week 1: June 27 to 30 Week 5: July 24 to 28 (Tuesday to Friday, because of Quebec s National Holiday) Week 6: July 31 to August 4 Week 2: July 4 to 7 Week 7: August 7 to 11 (Tuesday to Friday, because of Canada Day) Week 8: August 14 to 18 Week 3: July 10 to 14 Week 9: August 21 to 25 Week 4: July 17 to 21 Parks Program: June 27 to August 18 (closed on Monday, July 3) TEEN CAMP Ages 11* to 14 Activities include swimming, biking, sports, art workshops and day trips. Activities: arts and crafts, inter-park challenges, soccer and ball-hockey tournaments, Le Sablon beach and white water rafting outings, and more. Children are free to come and go as they please. Parents are welcome to join in at all times. For scheduled activities and outings, children must register in the park as soon as the program begins. This program is for Pointe-Claire residents only. 9 Canoe-Kayak Camps The Canoe-Kayak Club offers a variety of full day and half day camps for children ages 7 to 15. Participants discover water sports while learning about safety on the water in an environment focused on helping each other out and instilling a sense of community. The Club offers a program adapted for people with disabilities. Alternative activities are planned for rainy or bad weather days. 11 CANOE-KAYAK LESSONS: KIDDIE CANOE AND CRICKET Kiddy Canoe: Children born between 2010 and 2012 Cricket: Children born between 2006 and 2009 Children learn the rules of open water safety, and how to paddle a canoe or kayak, in a safe and encouraging environment. At the end, they receive a certificate showing they have completed this eight-week program. Lessons take place once a week.
