The arctic The arctic is a very cold region, Over the past 200 years there has been an immense growth in our understanding of polar life. Have you ever wanted to see animal life up close, then the arctic is the place you have to go! There s lot s of animals in the arctic! There s lot s of snow and if your lucky enough you might even get to see the beautiful aurora! After you read all of the book you are going to want to go to the arctic! Trust me! The red is the arctic just to tell You. This is the arctic Flag! Don t you think It s COOL?

Sport There are lot s of exciting and fun activity s you can do I the arctic! Here are the arctic winter games. The first is arm pull. Hers how to play, Two competitors sit on the floor facing each other and lock right arms at the bent elbow, with their left hands holding their opponent s right ankle. The left leg is straight and the right leg is bent over the opponent s straightened leg. (Positions are reversed for the left arm pull.) Competitors pull steadily at the elbow while bracing their opposite hands on their opponent s ankle. The object is to pull the opponent over or touch the opponent s hand to one s chest. Hers another, One foot high kick. Here's how to play, The competitor starts with a running or standing approach with feet no more than a shoulder width apart at take off. The suspended target must be struck by one foot and land on that same foot while maintaining balance and control. Another sport is the One-Hand reach. This is how to play, In the starting position the competitor must brace himself with the elbow of the balancing arm tucked into the body. The competitor begins by lifting his feet off the floor while balancing on his hands. With one hand the competitor reaches up to strike the target while maintaining his balance on the other hand. The striking hand must touch the ground before any other part of the body does so. The next one is called the knuckle Hop. First The competitor hops along the floor on toes and knuckles until he collapses. The longest distance wins. Airplane! That s what it is called. The competitor lies on the floor, face down, with arms straight out in an iron cross position. Four assistants lift the competitor two to three feet off of the floor and carry him forward at a constant speed. When the competitor s body or arms begin to sag, he drops. Longest distance before dropping wins. There s lots more! There s the head pull, the kneel jump, triple jump, sledge jump, and last but not the Alaskan high kick. Those are all the sports in the arctic. Do you want to see or play these cool games? I know you do!

Animals and Foods In the arctic there are lots of animals! Here are just a few, A polar bear, Lemming, Arctic turtles, the Arctic bunny, and the Arctic Musk Oxen. There are still lots of animals that live in the arctic. Do you want to meet these cool animals? I Know you do! Arctic people eat what ever they find. They would eat meat, whales, lots of fish, and lots of other animals. Animals would eat people, meat, and if they re carnivals they eat meat. They also cut a hole in the ice and fish. That s called ice fishing! They eat the fish after. Do you want to eat these delicious food? You of course want to!

Weather The weather in the arctic is really cold. It is the coldest Region in Canada. In the arctic it is always snowy. It is about 60*c in the arctic. There is a large amount of variability in CLIMATE across the Arctic, but all regions experience extremes of SOLAR RADIATION in both summer and winter. The weather in the winter is often well below 0šF. But the Arctic Ocean helps to keep things moderate along the coastal areas. In the summer the temperature is usually cool and is usually around 30*c to 40*c. The ground is permanently frozen and during the summer the soil thaws only a few inches. It is often windy and the combination of wind and cold drops the chill factor far below the real temperature. It is a hard climate for any animal to live in, but the Arctic is full of animals.

$ How to Make Money In the Arctic $ People make money by doing jobs like we do. Some jobs in the arctic are very fun and sometimes very tough. They hunt for animals and they kill the animals and cut of their skin. Then they bring the animal skins back to the house and they make clothes out of them and they sell the clothes for money.$ There are lots of ways to make money in the arctic. Like people pay to get a ride from other people with dogs to give them a sledge ride over to the place they need to go to. They also buy transportation from people and they make money by selling it. They sell snow trees to get money. You know what! You can come here and start your very own company to make money! It ll be a success! Do you like the way people make money in the arctic?

Cities in The Arctic There are lots of small little towns in the arctic. I ll tell you all the cities! OK, here s the cities, Arctic Bay, Cape Dorest, Grise Fiord, Hall Beach, Iqloolik, Kimmirut, Pond Inlet, Qikiqtaniuaq, Resolute, Saniluaq, Murmansk, Clyde river, Hall beach, Iqaluit, Nanisivik, Resolute, Iglulik, Kimmirut, Arviat, Baker lake, and bay Chimo. There are a lot more but that s all I will tell you. Would you like to visit one of these cities?

Transportation There is no year-round transportation in the Arctic. Year-round roads and railroads and high-bearing-load air fields to accommodate today's heavy-lift cargo aircraft could be built to the edge of the broad Arctic Ocean, if military necessity or potential resource development warranted it. Shallow-draft barges and boats will continue to be used to transport bulk cargo during the brief season around the perimeter of the Arctic Ocean. Large, very powerful icebreaker cargo ships for transport through the Arctic Ocean ice mantle are feasible and have been demonstrated; however, docking, loading, and general operational problems must be solved. Travel across the Arctic Ocean ice mantle with a truly amphibious craft. They use dog sledding to get to places, they also use boats and snowmobiles to get to places in the arctic. One more, they also use airplanes to get around. Cool right? Won t you want take one of these as your transportation?

Clothes The people in the arctic wear fur cotes because those fur cotes are made from animal skin and their animal skins is what keeps the animals nice and warm in the winter time. Do you know what the most warmest animal skin is? It is the mukluks and parka s skin that is the warmest skin of all the arctic! They still use wolfs or deer's skin for clothes but it is not as warm as mukluks and parka s skin. All clothes look different because they all have their own style. They all have Fur on the neck part of the clothes. Would you like to wear these clothes?

Facts The arctic is a very cool place! I am going to tell you Some facts that you never new before! Do you know what the aurora is? Then I will tell you! The aurora is a beautiful sky sight! Did you know there are more than 100 animals in the arctic? Did you know that more then 100 photographers come every tear to research? The arctic is a really cool place right! I hope you come to visit the arctic!
