1 Pre-Race Information Hello Colleges & Universities: As the 03 ACA Collegiate Race Series approaches, final race preparations are being made. The Virginia Outdoor Center and the ACA look forward to hosting your school on the Rappahanock River in Fredericksburg on 0/9/03! Paddle on, Adam Tremper Competition Coordinator Race Headquarters: Old Mill Park 40 Caroline Street Fredericksburg, VA 40 Camping: The Virginia Outdoor Center located at 39 Fall Hill Ave Fredericksburg, Va 40 will accommodate our competitors and volunteers FREE OF CHARGE this year. For a map from the campground to the Race HQ, click here. Food: Please provide your own food and water. Waivers: On race day, all competitors will need to bring, fill out (but do not sign) an ACA Waiver. If a competitor is under 8 years of age, they will need to fill out a minor waiver. The ACA Waivers can be found at, Race Rules: Remember, all competitors must wear a properly fitted lifejacket and helmet. This year the rules have changed concerning the team relay format and the use of wildwater kayaks, wavehopper kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards:

2 Scoring Overview Individual Classes Classes: KW, KM, OC, OCW, OCM, Exhibition SUP Individual Medals will be awarded for the top 3 finishers in each class Team Relay Race Class: OC + K legs tandem canoe and legs solo kayak 6 person teams, of which must be female for co-ed institutions Individual Medals will be awarded to the 6 team members for st, nd, and 3 rd Overall Team Scoring Overall Team Champion is determined by points scored in both the individual races and the team relay race. Trophies will be awarded to the top three colleges/universities. Scoring in events with four or fewer teams shall be recorded as follows: No. of Teams Individual Events Relay Events The number of entries per event shall be determined by race management. Only two individual entries per institution shall score. One relay entry per institution shall score. Tie breaker: In the event of a tie in overall team points, the team with the fastest team relay time will be declared the with the fastest team relay time will be declared the winner Wildwater or wavehopper kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards will participate in the exhibition class. Individual medals will be awarded, but they will not count toward the overall team point totals. As for the team relay, the race will consist of a 6 person team, first legs will be OC- and last legs will be K. The canoe and kayak will be used as the baton.
