3 05 SES & SR The NEW Stellar Elite Small (SES), the Surf Ski that revolutionized the market! Stellar started it all with the first Surf Ski hydro-dynamically and ergonomically optimized for smaller paddlers. We kept the same fast hull below the water line and narrowed catch, as well as reduced the volume of the cockpit. We also moved the paddler forward and moved the rudder forward, all to fine tune the performance and handling. A greatly narrower catch and reduced volume footwell help to modernize this popular surf ski. We moved the paddler forward to catch waves easier as well as increased the bow deck volume a little to release from the waves easier. We kept the same hull shape below the water that paddlers raved about! The beauty of the SR is that its allows you to keep your paddling rhythm without bracing, which keeps the hull speed at a higher constant rate than if you were in a racing ski and had to brace. 4 Sprint Kayak Innovation Our R&D team was able to determine areas that needed improvement on the existing designs in the market. From hull efficiency, stability and the footbrace, Stellar Kayaks has introduced new designs sure to set the standard! We designed the hull of the Apex to greatly reduce drag by making a slender bow that reduces the form drag as well as a low wetted surface area over the entire hull. To counter vertical movement of the bow and stern, we increased the volume of the stern to keep the end from squatting at the end of the drive phase of the stroke. We also have added a little flare to the hull above the waterline to provide a little more stability, which is critical on the first few strokes of the race to allow you to accelerate the hull up to speed as quick as possible. In outfitting the Apex, we looked to further increase performance through a more rigid footbrace system. Our 3-point footbrace provides you with a solid platform for a powerful leg drive. Our system allows more muscle recruitment by engaging the whole foot and leg as compared to the tradition toe-board. With our strong background in composite design, the Stellar Apex sets the standard for stiffness, transferring more of your power into speed to help propel you to the medals platform. In our Apex Para/Trainer K we offer a variety of seating options to accommodate paddlers needs. The Apex P fits the ICF regulations for a Paralympic K and is a great off season trainer or intro K for intermediate paddlers.
