1 Rowing race in Impressionist Country Circular course of 21 km (8s and 4s) Sculling Marathon (42 km) PRE-RACE PROGRAM Every year on May 1st, the Rowing Club of Port Marly (RCPM) organizes a 21km race on the Seine. This race is listed in the long distance races calendar of the FFA (French Rowing Federation). The RCPM belongs to the Ile de France Rowing League. It is located in the Impressionist Country, along the Seine River in the town of Port Marly. Rowing is practiced on a stretch of the Seine closed to river traffic, downstream from Bougival Weir. The Impressionists Race takes place on the Seine River in the heart of Impressionist Country and benefits from a closure of the river to freight traffic on this bank holiday. It consists of two separate tests: A 21 km race in long boats (4s and 8s) A sculling marathon (42 km) The race is open to all experienced rowers, from adult recreational rowers to competitive rowers in veteran, senior, junior (age 15 to 18) categories. Crews can be male, female or mixed. Clubs can engage crews of all types in 4s and 8s, but the sculling marathon is not open to juniors. After the race all participants are invited for a vin d honneur (celebratory drink) at the club and a meal is served subject to reservation. Adult rowers : 8+, 8x+, 4+, 4x+, 4-, 4x-, 4y+, 4yx+ Juniors rowers : 8+, 8x+, 4+, 4x+, 4-, 4x- Marathon (42 km) : single (senior and veteran) Arrival and unloading of trailers from 6.30 am. Collection of race numbers by delegates as they arrive. Sculling Marathon (42km) : boating from 7.15am, first start at 7.45am. Long boats race 21 km : boating from 8.30am, first start at 9.00am. Race ends at about for both races. Boating from the pontoon at the Rowing Club of Port Marly. Warm up possible upstream from the Club. Landing at the Rowing Club of Port Marly. It will not be possible to use the same boat more than once in this race. A detailed map will be given to each crew before departure. Course marked every 5km. 6 safety motor-boats along the course (see map) See attached document => This is essential reading for Captains, Competitors and Coxes. Marathon : grouped start 21 km race : Head of the River start every 30s in race number order (4s yolette sweep and scull => coxed 4s sweep and scull => coxless 4s sweep and scull => 8s sweep and scull). Parking for vehicles and trailers close to RCPM. Boat park near the pontoon. Please note: Trailers must be fully unloaded and quickly moved to the car park as soon as they arrive to facilitate access. Please ensure you have the personnel necessary to unload. Race 12 per seat (rower or cox). Meal (must be reserved in advance): 20 to be paid with inscription. Boat hire (on request), payable locally : 8+ = 100, 4+ = 60, 4- = 50 single 40. 3 Entries For foreign clubs, registration in 2 steps: 1. Until 19th April, entries and meal reservations have to be made on our website section Race of the Impressionnists article 16 th Impressionnists race. Please follow the instructions. In case of difficulties, contact us by . "Club Mixed" crews are entered by only one of the clubs concerned. Rowers must have a medical certificate of less than one year authorizing the practice of rowing in competition. 2. Prior to April 25th, registration fees must be paid by bank transfer or by bank check (made out to Rowing Club de Port Marly). Please Note Participation is limited to first 350 registered for the race and to the first 30 registered for the Marathon. About licenses and medical certificates: For French clubs affiliated to the FFA, under federal regulations. For foreign clubs, rules of the federation of the country concerned.
