6 Livestock Show General Rules The rules apply to and should be read by every exhibitor and family. 1. The Show reserves the right to construct its own rules and regulations. 2. Superintendents will have full and complete charge of all livestock in their respective divisions. 3. Superintendents may combine classes or establish breed classes if number of entries warrant. 4. All male market animals must be castrated to show except rabbit division. 5. All goats shall have their horns tipped, there will be no limit on length. 6. Any unruly or unfit animals will not be allowed to show. 7. The decision of the awarding judge will be final. Any exhibitor who shows disrespect to or attempts to interfere with the judges during their adjudications shall be promptly excluded from competition. 8. Showmanship classes will be held for each division. Junior - 13 and under as of August 31 prior to show Senior - 14 and up 16. All exhibitors will be required to clean all trash or debris from their stall area before leaving the grounds. 17. Glory Days Showmanship is open to ANY adult 18 years of age and older. Entries must be paid to the livestock office prior to the start of the contest. 18.Pee-Wee Showmanship is open to any child 5 years old or younger. Assistance may be provided to the child by a parent or an older youth. Entries must be paid to the livestock office prior to the start of the contest. THERE IS NO BEEF PEE-WEE SHOWMANSHIP.

7 Livestock Divisions Beef 1. Heifers - American (Brahman / Brahman influence - will be divided according to birth date) 2. Heifers - British (Conventional body type breeds - will be divided according to birth date) 3. Heifers- European (Will be divided according to birth date) 4. Grand and Reserve Champion Heifer (All first place heifers will return for Grand Champion) 5. Steers May be broken same as heifers if entries warrant (will be broken by weight regardless.) 6. Adult Glory Days Showmanship Challenge Sheep All market sheep must be slick shorn. No rams classes are offered. Market Lambs (can be wethers or ewes). 10 Family Living Show Rules and Guidelines 1. The Project Show will use age as of August 31st of the previous year. 2. There will be 3 age categories: Seniors: 14 18; Juniors : 9 13 ; Clover Clover Kids 8 and under may enter one entry in the foods category and one entry in the arts and crafts. 4. Project Show is open to any FCCLA, FFA, and 4-H. 5. An individual youth may enter only one entry per class. 6. Entries should be completed by participants in the last 12 months. 7. All entries must be labeled as follows: Name, age as of August 31st of the previous year, 4-H Club or School, on a 3x5 inch card. 8. Baked entries should have the recipe attached. 9. Entries will be released immediately following the Awards program. It is the responsibility of the participant to pick up entries at the correct time. If the participant cannot pick up entries, they should make arrangements for someone else to do so. 10.Adult leaders and agents will not be responsible for entries not picked up, lost of damaged. 11.Grand and Reserve Champions will be named in each age group and each of the 4 classes.

11 Family Living Divisions * Each entry must have name, age, 4-H club or school, and recipe class taped to bottom of container (inside wrap). Cakes should be covered securely with clear (no color) transparent wrap or clear throw-away covers and be on paper plates, cardboard, or board (display board is not to extend more than 2 inches outside the food). * Cookies, candy and breads should be on paper plates and placed inside a plastic bag. Pies should be in disposable pie plates and covered with transparent wrap or clear plastic throwaway cover. * Any item requiring refrigeration, regardless of category, will be disqualified (i.e. whipped cream, cool whip, cream pies) * A copy of the complete recipe must accompany the food item. DO NOT include participants name on recipe. Recipe shall be attached to top of food, outside the wrap. * Garnishes shall be edible and the complete work of the exhibitor. Entries will be placed first through third places, according to merit. All others will receive participation ribbons. * Entries not complying with these rules will not be accepted. * Disqualification for not following the rules will be up to the discretion of the superintendent.

12 Family Living Division CLASSES CLASS ONE : FOOD 1. Cookies Drop, refrigerator, bar or shaped. Ten (10) cookies on a paper plate inside a plastic bag. 2. Candies Ten (10) pieces on paper plate inside a plastic bag. 3. Cakes - Scratch Cakes or Creative Made with a mix Can be plain, layered, single layer, 10 cupcakes, Bundt, iced or not. Scratch cakes are cakes made without a cake mix. Creative cakes are cakes that use a cake mix and have had ingredients added such as strawberries. 4. Quick breads made without yeast or yeast bread May include muffins or loaf bread 5. Pies Pies which do not require refrigeration: NO cream pies: NO meringue. Single 8 or 9 inch pies only. CLASS TWO : Textile construction or embellished 1. Clothing 2. Home furnishings 3. Accessories 4. Other
