All parents welcome. Make an Easter hat at home to wear to the parade RAFFLE & GUESS the Easter Egg competition will be drawn at the parade. Tickets and guesses must be in to the office by 9am DISMISSAL at 2:30pm from the classrooms. Premiers Reading Challenge Forms need to be in by tomorrow Crib Point PS will be participating in this years challenge. If you would like your child to participate please collect a form from the front office. We will be opening the library in term 2 during a lunch time to help the children have access to the Reading Challenge books. They are also available to borrow from our school library and the local library. A list of the Reading challenge books is available at The Challenge begins now and officially ends on 14 September Students in Foundation to Year 2 who accept the Challenge need to read or experience 30 books during this period. Students in Years 3 to 10 who accept the Challenge must read 15 books during this period. Some books must be selected from the book lists available on the Challenge site. Three elements support students and schools participating in the Challenge: the rules, the book list and the online application for recording books. Students must choose some of their books from the Challenge book list, and record their reading online as set out in the six rules for the Challenge. I am happy to enter the children's books for them online if parents are unable to do this, please come and see me if you need this support. We will also have hard copy list of the books in the library World Autism week March 27th to April 2nd. Today I have included a letter written by the mother of an Autistic child which was published in the Age Newspaper to mark Autism Awareness week. It makes for very powerful reading and reminds us that not all disabilities are immediately visible to others and that we should all strive for better understanding and compassion. Have a happy and safe holiday I look forward to seeing you all back next term for another busy and productive eleven weeks. Congratulations to all of those students who did a great job this term. You worked hard, stayed motivated, got along and followed our 5 C rules. The benefits you would have experienced would include achieving your goals and experiencing strong friendships. 3 TERM ONE IN 1/2D First term has been incredibly busy as we have settled into our new grades, made new friends and gotten comfortable with new routines. Some highlights have been printing our handprints to go along with presenting our class mission statement on assembly, enjoying the family afternoon tea and the Country Fair. The class have enjoyed time sharing their likes and dislikes during our first integrated topic of the year called All About Me. We have worked really hard on improving our writing skills particularly during the Big Write session every Wednesday. The favourite topic so far has been- My Three Wishes. My favourite wish from a year one was for a desk at home so I could rite and rite and rite!!! All budding authors in our midst! Thank you to all those who have helped make it a happy and successful start to the new year and supported the class stall for the fair.

4 SUMMER SPORT LIGHTNING PREM Hi, my name is Alanah. I was in the Summer Sport Lightning Prem last week for the whole day. The sports were softball, volleyball and Kanga Cricket. We all had a fantastic day. And I m sure all the Year 4 / 5/ 6s can t wait until the next sports event Kanga Cricket. Hi! My name is Brenton and I was in Kanga Cricket last Thursday for the Lightning Prem. It was a ripper. Our first game was Hastings Primary School and we lost but still had fun. We did our best at trying and we were good sports. We lost by 16 runs. Our second game was against Tyabb Primary School. Chantelle caught a ball and Brodie smashed a 4. We all cheered because we are good sports. Flinders was the next game. It was a close game, we were in front for most of it. But, unfortunately we lost but again we all had fun. Our last game was against Wallaroo. We were smashing 4s and 6s. Our final score was Wallaroo 105 and Crib Point 135. We came back to school with a victory and we all had fun. Softball We played softball at the Bittern Oval on Thursday. Although we won only one game out of three, we had fun and tried our best. Unfortunately we did not make it to the finals. All the team were good at hitting and pitching. When we hit the ball far away, the team would yell, run! Run! Many members of the team got turns to pitch and be catcher. We enjoyed the day very much. We were a good team and played fairly. Thank you Ms Hewitson for teaching us how to pitch and hit and well done to all the players. Thank you everybody. Volleyball Our three Volleyball teams (a mixed boys/girls and 2 girls teams) played 7 games in one long and very hot day. They showed great sportsmanship, improved their skills so much and learnt lots about the game of Volleyball. The mixed boys /girls team and one girls team and are now the CPPSSA District Champions. They will go onto to represent the District at the Division finals in Term 4. A fantastic effort! Congratulations to all the Year 4/5/6s for their terrific skills and great sportsmanship throughout the day. District Football Trials. Congratulations to Kade Watsonfor being selected to represent our sports district CPPSSA at the Regional Trials next term.

6 Our very spectacular students in action at the State Schools Spectacular rehearsal in South Oakleigh this week! During 3 hours of rehearsals they learnt some of the steps for 5 of the numbers they will be performing in September. Fantastic effort! House Cross Country Thursday 16 th April pm. Day includes: interactions with dingo, python, off-limits animals, feeding animals & food prep, animal enrichment activities, fun and games for ages 7-14 years.
