1 TO: FBLA Members & Parents FROM: Mrs. Geheb DATE: January 7, 2016 (Letter #2) SUBJECT: FBLA 2016 State Leadership Conference (SLC) FBLA's biggest event of the year the State Leadership Conference--is scheduled for March 11-13, 2016 at the Sheraton Hotel at the Keystone Fashion Mall in Indianapolis. For those of you who are new to FBLA, State Leadership Conference (SLC) is an excellent experience, and includes workshops, competitive events, a keynote speaker, students from other Indiana high schools, a dance, and an awards banquet. Students who have attended State Conference say this is one of their best experiences of their high school career. This will be my 16 th State Conference as the KHS FBLA Adviser, and every conference has been a very rewarding experience. The cost to attend the FBLA State Conference at the Early Bird price is $120 you can break the payment up by making your 1 st $60 payment by Monday, January 11, followed by your 2 nd $60 payment by Thursday, January 21. After January 11, the cost to attend the FBLA State Conference will be $125 and must be paid in full by Thursday, January 21. There will be no refunds after Monday, February 1. Several students have completed fundraising to pay for part or all of their State Conference costs, and their remaining balance will be due based on the specified dates. If students prefer, they can make their first $60 payment at our December 10 th meeting before Christmas. The first payment covers the conference registration fees, and the 2 nd payment covers the hotel costs ($60 for two nights with four students per room).
