1 The Nutcracker 2018 Rehearsal Schedule In the tradition of the theater, all dancers are expected to graciously accept the part in which they are cast. If you find that you (or your child) are unable to participate in The Nutcracker because of the schedule, please contact one of the rehearsal directors as soon as possible. Please Note: Parents of Participants and Party Parents: You must attend ONE (1) MANDATORY parent meeting. The meetings will be held on SEPTEMBER 8 th and 15 nd at 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm in the Rec Center Rm 103. At that time, you will sign your contract and pay your fees. We will discuss the schedule, costume fittings and take any questions you may have. Dancers need not be present. (There will not be a meeting for members of Senior Company) All Costume Fittings are scheduled on SEPTEMBER 22 nd, 23 rd, 29 th, and 30 th and are MANDATORY ABOVE ALL ELSE. If you absolutely cannot attend, please inform your rehearsal director as soon as possible to make other arrangements. The fittings will take place at Northern Colorado Academy of Dance; check the schedule on the next page for the time and place of your fitting. Please wear tights and leotards (girls), or black shorts and white shirts (boys). Dancers must come dressed in dance attire to each rehearsal. Girls must wear leotard and tights, with ballet or pointe shoes. Tight dance shorts or skirts are optional. Hair must be in a bun and pulled back out of the face. Boys must wear black shorts, white shirt, and ballet shoes or white socks. Please contact your rehearsal director with questions. If a dancer arrives in inappropriate clothing, they will be asked to sit and watch rehearsal and this will count as one absence. Because we have a short time frame in which to rehearse, we ask that you not be absent from any rehearsals or costume fittings. ANY ABSENCES need to be cleared with your Rehearsal Director. Three (3) absences are reason for dismissal. Dancers who are out of town during Thanksgiving weekend need to notify your Rehearsal Director. Please consider this one of your absences. Please refer to the Nutcracker Handbook for rehearsal and performance information and codes of conduct.
