The Riverdale Rockets coaching staffs & volunteers have been busy prepping for the 04 season from cheerleading routines to football plays, uniforms & everything in between we are all looking forward to the start of this season! As school begins, coaches may be changing practice times so please watch your s & our Facebook page for updates! Registration Fees If you have not paid your registration fees, you must do so immediately. Registration fees are collected to help us pay for the operational needs of the organization such as equipment, uniforms, insurance & league fees. Checks are to be made payable to the Riverdale Rockets & given to your coach. League Weigh-Ins Weigh-ins are scheduled for Sept. 6 th at GHS for all football players. Your coach will inform you of the exact time you need to be there, but the time will be between 8-am. You must be at the weigh-ins or your football player will not be allowed to play in the next day s game or in any game until they have weighed-in this is a league rule. League Weight Limits The weight limits for each level are as follows: A-Team 4 lbs B-Team lbs C-Team 05 lbs D-Team 70 lbs If your football player is at or under these weight limits for their level, then they are able to play any position. If your player is over the weight limit for their level, then they are considered a restricted player and may Riverdale Rockets Football & Cheerleading Newsletter only play a position on the offensive or defensive line. The weight limits are put into place by the Cape Ann Pee Wee Football league. If you have any questions regarding this info, please contact your coach. Birth Certificates for New Players If you are a new player to the Cape Ann Football League, please be advised that a copy of your birth certificate will be needed at weigh-ins for age verification purposes. If you do not already have a copy handy, please begin to obtain one. If your player does not bring their birth certificate to weighins, then they will not be able to weigh-in & if they do not weigh-in then they cannot play in a game until they bring their birth certificate & weigh-in. If you have any question regarding this, please contact your coach. Our Fundraiser will take place on Monday, Sept. 9 th at the Ferncroft Country Club tee time is 7:0am. We are looking for teams of four players to enter the tournament. Price per player is $50. If you are unable to put together a team of 4 players on your own, you can still sign up if you sign up as a single player you will added to others to create a team of four. There will be 8 holes of golf along with a golf cart. After you have finished your round, a lunch will be served. The organizers of the golf tournament are still looking for sponsors. 2 September 04 (Continued from Page ) Sunday, September 7 th this is also our season opening game! We are the home team this week which means that we are in charge of the concession at GHS. We are in need of volunteers to work the concession during all four of the days games & sell 50/50 tickets. Keep your eye out for an & Facebook post to sign-up to help in the concession for this game as well as the rest of our home games this year. By playing on the new field at GHS, there are a few rules that we need to follow: only players, cheerleaders & coaches are allowed on the playing field parents & spectators must stay in the stands they are not allowed on the playing field 04 Game Schedule Sept 7 th Rockets vs. GHS* (we are the home team) Sept 4 th Rockets vs. O maley Sept st Rockets vs. O maley Water is the only beverage allowed on the playing field Remember that these rules have been put in place by GHS, not the Rockets. So that we can continue to play on this state of the art field, we all must follow these rules. Volunteer Opportunities The Riverdale Rockets Organization depends on the dedication of our parents. We know that everyone has busy schedules; if you can spare some of your time to help out the organization in any way it will really make a difference! Volunteers are always needed in the concession, to hold sideline markers on game days, assist in fundraising. Anyway that a parent can help the organization is greatly appreciated! Individual & Team Individual & Team will be taken on Tuesday, September 9 th & Wednesday, September 0 th. All pictures are taken at O maley, our home field. The schedule is as follows: Tuesday, September 9 th : 4:0pm D-Team Cheerleaders 5:00pm C-Team Cheerleaders 5:0pm B-Team Cheerleaders 6:00pm A-Team Cheerleaders & A- team Football Players (8 th grade Rocket graduates picture will also be done at this time) Wednesday, September 0 th : 4:0pm D-Team Football 5:00 pm C-Team Football 5:0pm B-Team Football Order forms will be ed to you shortly. Please remember that it is not a requirement that you have an individual picture taken, but we ask that you have your child present during pictures so that they will be included in their team picture. You do not need to purchase a team photo as the Rockets will purchase one team photo per player/cheerleader in our organization which will be given out at the end of the season banquet. The Rockets do not purchase individual pictures if you have an individual picture taken of your child it is your responsibility to purchase that picture via the order form from the photographer. Whatever you purchase via the order form, will be given to you once the order has been completed by the photographer. Cheerleading Uniform Alteration Reminder The Riverdale Rockets will supply your cheerleader with a full uniform of a (Continued on Page )

3 SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER (Continued from Page ) cheerleading top & skirt. In the event that this uniform does need to be altered, you may have this done but alterations are made at YOUR COST. The Rockets do not pay for the cost of alterations & will not reimburse you this cost. You are still required to turn the full uniform into us at the end of the season even if alterations were made to it. Final Thoughts The Riverdale Rockets Board & coaching staff is excited for the season as our teams have looked great in the st week of practices! Reminder that if you are unable to make a practice, please make sure you contact your child s coach so that they may plan practice around the absence.
